Microsoft would not allow me, the parent, to delete my child’s (13) social media account. They are out of control. We need this legislation to protect our rights as parents.

Politics has never been my thing, but I watched 4 videos of Josh Hawley, and dammit I like this dude. He seems like he's really for the people so far I like he's using his voice to speak on these issues
Parents are responsible for the protection of their children.... government is responsible for securing borders and making sure the constitution and bill of rights protected.
I didn't let mine touch the internet until they got 18 years old, it was hard, but we did it together, and now they are free and I trust them with closed eyes.

Not only NO social media but also NO CELLPHONES UNTIL AT LEAST AGE 16!!! There should also be a requirement that only a parent or both parents can authorize a Child's Account on a Social Media Platform!!!

As an upstate NY RESIDENT, Sir... I am simultaneously sad and yet oddly hopeful having NADER representing us... that the world as we dreamed it would be is not definitively dead. Maybe we'll have a Josh Hawley someday. Likely we won't. But at least knowing you EXIST and are POSSIBLE... keeps the real and good Americans of this nation going. If not for men like you, I think the democrats would get exactly what they want. A battered and desperate group of good people only hoping to somehow survive. In my personal opinion I think social media should be banned across the board from Facebook to Twitter to Instagram to ESPECIALLY tictok and really anything similar, kids are finding it harder and harder exponentially to connect to their peers in person and it correlates to the rise in social media
And there should be preparation in schools, educating kids on how to behave online and what the potential dangers will be when they do get on SM. More effective than the films/education trying to indoctrinate us about the dangers of MARIJUANA 😱🤣, as well as drugs that are actually dangerous...back in 2nd/3rd grade. We'd need teachers with common sense intelligence though..which seems to be in short supply amongst public them/they/teachers

Disagree a bit here. I do agree with maybe some censorship if you’re not 16+ , but an outright ban is silly. Parents need to step up and get with the times, learn about the technology and educate yourself and your kids. I’ve seen plenty of overprotective parents and been friends with their kids. They were the most depressed isolated people I’ve met. Forced to be a child of their parents time not their own. A lot of the times they’d sneak around and find ways. Usually it lead to a reckless “catching up” phase in their 20s. Trust me, you’re doing nothing but rob your kids of their youth and making them miserable. Educate, learn, monitor.
I hope you all realize you lose ALL privacy. Every website you visit will store your real name and date of birth like a bank. This is not the wya to do things.
social media is a free babysitter in USA . Most parents in USA will unlock with their ID to give their kids access to social media. Do you know why ? Parents barely make the ends meet in this oligarchic country when 90% people create trillions of dollars for top 10% and they never get any raise in last 40 years.
