They need to also suspend most of the domestic travel which consumes even more revenues. Many government officials travel to places like Mombasa and Naivasha in the name of work only to go there to enjoy themselves. The big question however is whether these directives will be adhered to. What is the point of providing for such wasteful spending in the budget then coming up with such impotent directives?. This can only make sense if a supplementary budget is passed to scrap the supporting budgetary provisions.
Domestic travel boosts the economy. Those hotels in MSA and naivsha employ so many Kenyans due to those meetings. Domestic travel retains money in the economy but foreign travel leads to flight of our resources.
Problem is we only talk and no action is taken..just playing the blame game...we will still suffer in this government and politicians.. they are playing with us kenyans
I hope this directive is not a normal PR by KK n even the president must adhere with the directive n stop unnecessary trips both local and international.

What i have come to understand Kenyan politicians is that they forget all problems around them the moment they're declared winners in their respective seats,and begin doing quite the contrary;thats why all monies allocated is squandered on like there is no tomorrow!
Today some leaders behave as if the controller of budget brought this report somewhere in heaven,yet they're always complaining I don't know am not in this or that committee.....oooh am in one committee and others are in 5.Where as they know very well the real contentious issue is not service to citizens,rather it's about the benefits that come along with being in those committees and positions Too sad
