If all our elected leaders would be this bright wise articulate and forcused as Hon Senator Onyonka, we'd go very far as a Country in development, sadly we only have a few 😢
Onyonka is an eloquent man but he is wrong in terms of framework of thinking. Just like most Kenyans he is mixing up the term "the Govt" and "the Executive". Firstly, in terms of constitutional construct there is no opposition and there isn't supposed to be any. Secondly, the Govt is not the same thing as the Executive. The Govt has 3 arms, being the Executive, Parliament and the Judiciary. Therefore all MPs, be they on the Minority or Majority side are in Govt, but they are charged with responsibility of, among others, oversighting the Executive. There is no such thing as Govt/Opposition matrix in the current constitutional arrangement.
Senator Onyoka i agree with you that legisllators should check executive how much budget is being spent in their constituency instead of keeping themselves busy with administration of CDF funds Secondly monitor the distribution of national budget/projects in the country and the amo
Yes, leaders in opposition are brighter because KK has picked people's rejects and those purchased like goods from a shop. Look at how senator Onyonka is reasoning. It makes the electorate to feel that they are represented.
When l listen to onyonka, sifuna and compare to cheruiyot, cherargei, kuria, ichungwa l laugh coz the opposition got bright mind bt the gava got very daft minds....hehehe
1.LETS TALK ABOUT WHY YOU GET PAID TOO MUCH MONEY IN A COUNTRY WHERE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE SLEEP HUNGRY OTHERWISE BEFORE THAT EVERYTHING IS PR AND KIZUNGU MINGI
Am currently getting cetizen money i get very anxious where i spend it. Infact i cant send anything home. The day i start working it has to be on the correct background so i can send clean money back. Meaning i have to do my own investion for who i work for😂.
Citizen.....be keen....your guest has talked about 3B . You have slashed it to 3M. Aaaaah, am no editor but picked it out immediately. 3M is not much.....but 3B...now thats outrightly outrages
Ichungwa, Nyoro and Co. sold out Mt Kenya. One man, one shilling, one vote. Nairobi na Kiambu hakuna mashule na bursary hamna. Na vile wengi kama siafu. Hata Sakaja alilia leo. Mulidanganywa BBI ni mbaya eti ni ya dynasty. Watoto walala njaa. Ma youth ni pombe tu. Mental health imezidi. So sad.
Let Kenya lose everything in every sector, many fool's are enjoying what they don't know how it comes' there's no way someone who should be president people are happy being opposition, let Kenyan take the work of opposition by themselves, some are kids and have long mouth to talk bad about raila......
Have we put into consideration that the Ksh is doing really bad against the dollar while comparing the two expenditures. Same time today last year 1 usd : 114 Ksh, today 1 usd : 140 ksh ..
It's losing value very, very fast. We need constant town halls with economics experts from both the civil society/general population and government. So that we don't get hit with bad surprises in the future
Looks to me like hon onyoka is the only voice of reason still alive in Kenya today , all others dead and buried long ago . I only came to know about him just recently. By the way I wonder whether he's related to a Dr onyoka who was a long time cabinet in Kenyatta/moi government ?
No, there are very many voices of reason in the country; that's why sanity still prevails! Our job is to promote them by giving them/ us hope for the insane ones want to intimidate and disengage!
Thank you buddy for your enlightenment, he's such a bright light in the modern day dark Kenya I remember the father when I was a student back in Kenya, may God help Kenya through this dark period
@@akedekenny3960It is not a question of anyone wanting some "opposition" to do anything. Ruth was pointing out a constitutional fact that even the fairly sharp Kenyan leaders like Onyonka just can't get right. There is no opposition and there isn't supposed to be any. What we have is a Parliament consisting of Minority and Majority sides to collectively act in oversighting the Executive. It is not the Minority sides sole role to oversight the Executive. That role belongs to Parliament!
The current opposition leader wandai has failed to do his job. Onyanka or Mbadi should take over from the useless minority leader wandai. Wandai's job is to hold the govt into account in the house and not waste time outside doing mandamano. Leave Manadamono to those who do not have office like Karua, raila and the rest of the non office holders of Azimio. Wandai should have been calling for hearings on the travel budget, and edible oils scandal. Ruto has said he wants the opposition to hold them to account so wandai do your job.
Were you the one who elected them to be opposition? Kila mtu abebe msalaba wake, let ruto collect everything from Kenyans including the money Kenyans haven't worked for, yaani, the unpaid money..
You need some civic education. There is a reason why the 2010 constitution removed terms like "Opposition Leader/Leader of Govt Business" and replaced them with "Minority/Majority Leader". There are reasons why the Executive (sometimes wrongly referred to as the Govt) was constitutionally thrown out of Parliament. It is not the role of the Minority Leader to oversight the Executive. That role belongs to Parliament acting collectively and there are good reasons why that structure was preferred over the "Govt/Opposition" structure. Therefore if you think that parliamentary oversight over the Executive is not adequate, then hold your MP accountable, regardless of whether he is in the Minority or Majority side. Stop being lazy . Read and understand the Constitution.
Shame on u...those presidents from others countries who come to kenya they uses free ticket ?? Hizo pesa za bbi na za maadamano mlitoa wapi wezi nyinyi
🤔🤔🤔 3million being spend by the goverment a week!!!!!????that is being so extravagant,i mean who does that?????is this goverment normal???kenyas are dying 😭😭😭,kenyans are suffering,😭😭,and and a normal president wasting such a big a mount on travelling alone??? Ooh my!!this are nit the leaders we elected, this are mad men, kenyans 🇰🇪🇰🇪 this two guys need to be taken to the hospital for a very emergency and a very special check ✔️✔️ up,they are now loosin it,God have mercy upon kenyans 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪😭😭😭😭😭😭.
What you also need to understand is, the cost of living has gone up over the years Uhuru occupied office. ...what Uhuru spent to hire services 11 years ago can't be compared to what wil be spent to hire a similar services today. How about you compare what Uhuru spent in his last six months??
You didn't follow what Onyonka said. He was quoting a report comparing what Ruto spent with what Uhuru spent over that same period in the last year of his administration. Your write up is therefore misplaced.
Exactly Momoima, that is the kind of opposition we need. Not opposition of going to the streets and destroying other people's property. The is the work of Luos. Teach them Momoima.
Let's all together learn what is good! That correction of DISPLINE is away of Life. Still whoever refuses to get wise will remain to be a companion of fools!( Whoever refuses to be corrected is stupid and will lead other people astray/ wrong paths.lets all embrace maturity in this life and life after. Thus the new way of LIFE! Right!
You stupid tugege tribalist, please note that oversighting the Executive is not the work of some imaginary Opposition only existing in your head. Firstly, you just like Onyonka are wrong in referring to an opposition. It does exist. The 2010 Constitution neither envisages, nor establishes nor facilitates an opposition. The role of oversighting the Executive is on Parliament, acting collectively. The concept of Govt/Opposition was thrown out with the repeal of independence constitution. So if in your idiotic and tribalistic mental framework, you think that there is inadequate oversight on the Executive, then hold YOUR MP accountable regardless of whether he is in the Minority or the Majority. Shenzi!
