I say from experience I've had both of these from Amazon for a month and I think the Sivga p-11s are better in my opinion. The only thing the Sendys have that's better is I think they use real wood on their cups as the Sivga seems like a simulated finish, and the case fits smaller which looks nicer and .... That's it. I think the sound is better on the Sivgas although that's subjective the head strap is hands down better than the sendys, I can't say as to which one will fail over time the sendy uses friction to hold the strap in place, and the Sivga seems to have some stretchy material inside the head strap or at least is what it seems like but it's an exact fit every time no adjusting. I'm also more fond of the cup angle on the Sivgas the Sendys sit at an angle I thought this would suit me but the Sendys and nicer in that regard. Also the strain relief is a metal on the Sivgas which is better imo it holds the strain better and will stand the test of time compared to the wood strain relief on the Sendys. Oh and the Sivgas cups rotate a full 180 degrees this I a really nice feature the Sendys don't have they only rotate what 30 degrees so they don't even rest flat on a table this may not matter to some all in all they are relatively the same headphone I picked mine up with a 30 day return policy and the Sendys are going back to each their own they are both outstanding headphones

All right, finally got my own pair. The build is everything they say, the sliders don't hold their position very well and...slide easily, they require their share of fiddling around until they stay where you want them. Sound...I would say their sound signature is very similar to the DT-1990. Where the DT-1990 sometimes got WAY too hot, the Aivas also get hot, but not on the same level or frequencies. Bass is very capable, punchy, detailed. The headphones overall have a darker signature than the DT-1990, with excellent details. Having owned the T1 as well, I'd say these tweak the sound of the T1 more to my liking, darker but not any less defined and I think I'm getting comparable, sometimes more detail on the Aiva than on the T1. I'd call this "The Poor man's HD800s."

I have a question that's really been eating at me. Did your pair of the Aiva's have any of that Planar crackle? I ordered a pair a week after watching this. The pair I received had a severe metallic crinkling like noise that is apparently common to Planars. Even though my M1060's don't have any crackle whatsoever after nearly 2 years. I'm talking about like minor movements of my neck or head creating this awful noise that can even be louder than the music. I love the Aiva's so much, I loved how they sound, the way they are built, I love the cable, the wood cups.... and then they have that crackle and I can't stand using them thinking they are gonna break within the next month or so. They told me the crinkle was normal and perfectly fine. I sent them back and told them to keep it and issue a refund, but I don't know if I should re-buy them thinking maybe I'll get a set that doesn't have it? Any help regarding this would be appreciated.

I bought these. They are fantastic. Not the BEST headphones I own, but excellent quality and audio. Worth every penny.

I made the mistake of buying these pretty much right after this review and were they bad ? No but they were not even close to the magical set Zeos got luckily I was able to return them... I would buy a set again if they were $300 just for the build quality but they were better in some ways than the Sennheiser HD-650s but mostly they were not an upgrade.... And my Sundara's destroyed the one's I got at least

There is a lot of people who heard this headphone who praise the treble and detail, and mid base. But concerns are that it doesn't extend into the base as far and a chasm in the upper mid-range that greatly hi Derek some upper vocals. I know you look at response curve buy at least one of them has a massive trench around 3-6K.

How would these compare directly to the DT 1990 Pro? Same price. And I know the 1990's are probably more "analytical" and neutral.

At first listen I was thinking these weren't for me because they're brighter than what I normally like but the more I listen the more I like them. Don't think they're the end all be all but they hold their own with my other headphones I use which all cost more except the Nightowl. It's nice to have a headphone that sounds nothing like others I have and I'm happy I bought them.

Got my Verums on Monday after getting them based on your / Z's recommendation last year, listening to them on Pro-Ject Box S2 Digital and THX AAA 789. They somehow manage to make lower bitrate music shine. I was thinking of waiting a year and then looking at electro stats. But if you seriously think these hold there own against the Empyrean, then I might go this route and save on the need for a energizer.

Ok I've saved up and need to buy an dac/amp for my sendy aivas. I'm currently using the mayflower ARC and want to upgrade. I'm leaning towards the monolith THX AAA but am curious if there are any others I should consider in the 400 to 600 dollar range? Any pointers would be appreciated.

After getting the JDS Labs EL amp and paired with my Mimby the Aiva sounds amazing and well worth the hype now. I had no clue my Schiit Magni3 was holding them back this much. I still love Schiit but the EL amp is far better than the Magni3 imo.
