I'm an Ohio native, living in Pa. I spend every weekend in WV! Love the beauty of the state & the people are just the nicest people hands down! Anywho, Cliff have you noticed the deer are a bit smaller in WV than in Pa? Our family have thought this to be true in general.
😍🥰Love this! Awesome views up on the mountain. wow! Take Me Home Country Roads would be a great song for your video! 🎵Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze Country roads, take me home to the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mamma, take me home, country roads🎵
Ya finally got there! Took my gimpy self 3.5 hrs, when most folks average 2.5. That bridge goes over one of the headwater forks of the Potomac river. My dog hauled me up that last stretch. Was cool to get pics of us on the observation platform. I went as far as just past the warning sign - to sit and eat my snack and drink before heading down. The very top dangerous part - looks too much like climbing on the edge of a dime!
I love seeing my beautiful state through your videos. Just wish it would’ve been a bright sunny day! What an awesome view! It is a bit disheartening when people say Virginia instead of WEST VIRGINIA. 🙁🙁🙁. We did become a state in 1863, and we are the most northern southern state and the most southern northern state 🇺🇸❤️💙🇺🇸
Love it there Cliff. I tried fishing the North Fork there for Trout but the river was too high.. There is also a neat Store nearby that I stopped at the last time that goes by name of Yokums.
Nice view from up there, the rocks look like something you would see in the northwest. Benjamin has a sharp eye. Looks like a good workout getting up there. LOL!
Chipmunks are so cute. Loved seeing the deer. Gorgeous view! WOW!! All these amazing places you bring us to. Benjamin made a nice hiking companion. He certainly made the trip up look easy. Kids have wonderful energy! Thanks to both of you for a fun time.🥰
Thank you for the hike to the overlook. I fly fished the North Fork several times up and downstream of the bridge you crossed over. I landed some nice Rainbow and Brown trout there. The view of those white rocks coming down route 33 is spectacular.
So glad you got to come to my home state love your videos we enjoy watchin the different places you hike never been to the Seneca trails but looks like a great to hike ☺️☺️
I went up there with my son & daughter a few years ago (before I really got into video). Quite the haul to get to the top. And, yes, we went beyond the Stop sign... very carefully. Views are definitely great. Thanks for taking me back :D
I was there around 20 years ago with my wife-to-be. We also camped at Spruce Knob CG, and we visited Seneca Caverns, and then camped in the Dolly Sods.
Not with the kid, though. If something happened to the child, not only would that be tragic for the child, but Cliff would be sued big time by the parents for not heeding the warning sign. Not worth it. So glad Cliff did not go to the cliff. 😊
View reminds me of one of my all-time movies, “Picnic at Hanging Rock.” A mystery shot in Australia in 1975, by director Peter Weir, who would make “Witness” near Lancaster 10 years later.
I believe that that odd looking insect at the end of your video may be a dobsonfly larvae my brother found one years ago,we had never seen anything like it before. Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures!
Back in the 1970s when I used to go there, no platform existed. My recollection is that just past where you were, there was what I think they called table rock. It was easy to get to and safeish, but I had no idea that many people have been killed up there.
I've been right where you are its beautiful never been kn the trails yet or to the top . We stayed at the Indian motel kinda up the road. Green bank is cool and spurce knob also. Devils backbone in marlington is also a cool place and a great place to fish for trout. Right past devils back bone on the right there's these rocks that stick over a swimming hole the water is so clear there
Beautiful place especially in the fall, the extended trail is not overly dangerous but I appreciate your discretion. If you walk up the fire trail/semi private road that is hundreds of feet to the right you get a unique view of the rock face above you. There is a plaque to a person who died climbing Seneca Rocks I believe. There is a climbing school that uses Seneca Rocks which has different routes up the face.
The Face of a thousand pitons and the Gendarme. Thing's from before your time, but worth mentioning. Sure has been 'civilized' since I made trips there in the late seventies, and early eighties. Beautiful still though.
Me and my mum are working on making it to the top. The first time we didn't get very far and the second time it started to rain. (It was fall so the rain made the leaves slippery) Next time we go we plan to make it to the top
Yeah about 10 yards up from that sign you are made acutely aware of why it is posted there. Beautiful views but I wont be going past that sign again lol.
are you familiar with the topics, mudflood, tartaria, or what people call "the reset"? Look deep into these rabbit hole blanket terms for the mind blowing truths of our realm. Anyway much love great content god bless.
Snakes pulling up on leage think yer safe and a coild copperhead two feet in front of you let go fall screaming TAKE .15 ft fall.got back up snake was gone.
