Thanks for bringing us along on your travels. Your videography and editing get better each time. You've got an extra decade on me but you're an inspiration to keep looking forward while enjoying the moment. I'd love to share a trail segment and a camp site with you!
@@jrdepew I talked my wife into doing the Black Hills BDRx with me next Fall, but her stipulations were that we'd stay in a hotel every night and we got Cardo's so we could talk to each other. I guess I'll take what I can get. When she decided she wanted a bike of her own I bought her a DR650 knowing it would be tall for her, but also knowing she wouldn't hurt it when she inevitably dropped it. After a few years she decided she wanted something more suitable for her inseam so I sold the DR and got her a BMW F650GS. I sure do miss that DR though, should have kept it and sold my KLR.
You’re an absolute legend, I’m 25 and have been riding my dr650 for 4 years, my dads 52 and has been riding his dr for 17 years. And my grandfather is 78 and he’s in really good shape and rides his horses everyday but I couldn’t imagine him throwing a leg over a motorcycle 😂. Keep on riding man!
At 72 you're still a youngster, I'm 87 and still going strong on my bikes and my airplane. Concerned about traveling alone though with a 450 Lb bike and being only 150 lbs.
I keep thinking about selling my plane but every time I fly (which is almost dailey) I say to myself How can I give this up. I have a backcountry plane and do mostly off airpot landings with camping. I fly ablaut 200 hours a year. I'm also the oldest active pilot at my airport and was the oldest pilot the the Super Club fly in at New Holstein 3 years ago. Figure I'll keep on flying until I forget where my airport is.
Been watching your videos a lot since I retired a year ago. Great content. Love the honest insight and your genuine approach. Hope to meet you on the road someday. I rode the OR BDR and am hoping to post my experience soon. Cheers and Happy Holidays ~ GrizzLee
GrizzLee! How pleasant to see your comment. I believe I have seen all your videos...."I love you IDBDR"! You are a much more polished vidiographer than I. Congratulations on retirement and Happy New Year.
Hey JR enjoyed your video! You still riding the back country after 70 mate that’s awesome. I certainly hope I can manage it when I’m there! Those BDR routes in the beautiful United States 🇺🇸 are a wonderful thing!
What an inspiration to a 61 year old that still feels like a 16 year old. Well maybe not always physically but definitely mentally! I am really loving your videos. In one of the earlier ones you mentioned possibly announcing a 2024 ride. I live in Western NC and would love to jump in either on this side or the west coast. Please keep us posted. Merry Christmas to you and your family and may your New Year be blessed with good health and prosperity!
I enjoy all of your videos. Looking forword for the next one. Thank you JR for sharing your adventures. You are an inspiration to us all. God bless your journeys.
JR, I love what you do! If I can do what you are doing, then I've got 20 more years of adventure ahead of me. Kepp on adventuring. You are an inspiration!
The WR is still in the stable here in Virginia. The DR was in Washington and plan’s morphed into riding it back to Virginia. It really is a great bike. The WR is on deck for 2024 though.
I loved my 09DR but when the transmission gave out while riding the KAT, it was time for a lighter change. I bought and built up a 2018 WR for adv. I have come to really enjoy it. I’m hoping to do the SM500 in 24 with it. I also have a T7 but it’s tough to pick up. Really have enjoyed your videos, ride safe my friend.
