Great video, but we don't need to hear BEE TEES when you call any of them every 20 seconds, they all have the BT in the name, it makes no difference, just a minor nitpick Much love
I'm having a hard time deciding between the 350bt and wh ch 700n. They cost about the same where I live. Is it worth sacrificing usb c, better sound and build quality for the noise cancelling and audio jack?
Great video mate, good reference for my selling job. I agree, the 4.50 which I personally used for a while before going to H.ear On 2 - I found the sound signature to be very nice and very equal. The current 4.50s can be found for very low around shops and could even be going on clearance now that the 450s are out.
Much of the reason for the latency likely has to do with Bluetooth 5.0 , (I am not sure about these devices) but as BT 5.0 was just released many companies are trying to use it but still using older processors from 4.2 devices. Bluetooth 5.0 uses a slightly different band with broadcasts more info at lower power over longer range (hence the battery life difference - they probably did not change the battery BT5.0 transmitters don't use as much juice) . But BT also moves more data and has better security encryption all things the CPU in devices need to process hence higher latency. This is why BT has higher latency than RF wireless headphones, RF headphones pretty much are unsecured as they only transmit limited data mean to primarily be audio and maybe a few simple commands, and the simple coding means most use a proprietary transmitter to provide a small sense of security. As the low level CPUs in such devices get faster expect the latency to improve so expect a refresh of the 450BT next year.
Can’t wait for a full review on these cause I’m thinking about getting these and the pxc 550 2 more so in Best Buy not on amazon cause I had bad experience when I buy high end headphone products
i really liked the ANC comparison with the XM3, it really lets you understand the entity of the ANC. and btw i really don't care about the mic quality since i just want them as "gaming" headphones and music-to-listen headphones.

All the reviews fail to say that when on calls, the microphone lets you hear your own voice and your surroundings, which is pretty bad for shared home offices or loud enviroments of any kind. If you plan to use them on said places, make sure you have an external microphone to make it the default recording device on Windows thus avoiding the "pass through feature".
Actually this is a benefit. If you don't have that, it's not a natural sounding phone call. If you can't hear yourself you start speaking too loud and it's incredibly distracting.
Hi, in 4.50BTNC I can also activate Google Assistant by the same button. It will turn on Voice dialing, but once I say "OK, GOOGLE", it will work. So maybe there is small difference, but it is rather cosmetic one.
Nice review that go over a lot of things I normally don't see. Only thing I miss is a glasses test. I wear glasses and velour is normally my favorite as they have less friction with the headphones padding.
Great review my friend is getting one of theses headphones 450BT he will enjoy theses headphones I have Sony WH- XB900Ns like it’s cousin WH- 1000XM3s they both sound great even when using the 450BT loved the video
Great review! On 450BT did you face any sidetone issues during calls? On calls, I hear myself as well as hear ambient sounds amplified. Did you face these issues?
They sound amazing, I generally listen to classical music , I just decided to see how the Eagles song "Hotel California" the bass is perfect as well as the highs and mids.
I use the HD4.4bt's and man, if they had just slightly bigger ear cups, I'd still use them. They are very good. But paying $17 for some good ear pad replacement vs getting some $38 JBL tune 710bt's with 50hr battery life, I think I'd rather just get those headphones instead.
Hi GYM Caddy, thanks for such great reviews. I'm trying to choose between the Sennheiser HD 450BT and the JBL LIVE 650BTNC. I'll be using them for meetings and to block out noise at cafes, so I care more about the mic and ANC than the sound. Which would you recommend please?
Hi Gymcaddy, love your videos, especially the noise cancellation test/comparison. Can you do a review of headphones from Edifier. There are a couple of headphones from them, Edifier 830 which comes with 95 hours of playback time and Edifier 860 which is a sub $150 ANC headphone.
Hey, great review, as always! Should I go with Sennheiser HD 450BT or AudioTechnica ATH-ANC900BT ?? Which one of those do you recommend? I am happy to hear others opinion as well. Thanks!
I feel like just in the first minute of the video there was WAY too much of an infodump and it got super convoluted when you kept using the full name of the headphones every single time. The “bee tees” every single time got so annoying. Hoping you’ve changed your delivery a bit in future videos.
Lol I think Him saying his ear being cramped doesn’t really make complete sense cause His ears stick out quite a lot vs mines and my ears are considered smaller, his ears not the hugest but pretty big in my opinion
You had convinced me to buy that thing. Now after 1 week of use i found out that the tiny earpads are a bit small for me. Anybody know a replacement earpad? Btw this was the only issue i could ever find in this product.
this video sealed the deal for me! i was comparing the hd 450bt's against the 1more Sonoflows and Soundcore's q35. sennheiser's pair is the winning one for me. thanks for the thorough video!
Does anybody know whether Sennheiser will update the 450BT's anytime soon like they did with the 4.50BTNC's? It's been a a couple years since the 450's came out now and I was wondering whether it would be worth waiting if they plan on releasing another pair similar to this in the near future
Not a single review including this one mentions one big issue with these headphones (both 450bt and 458bt) - Microphone. When connected to calls, we hear back own voice plus our surrounding things sound like fans etc, even if someone is tapping foot on next room, it picks up that noise and feeds to us! This is very weird and irritable. If you are ok to not use these headphones for even a single phone call then only plan on these.
I was Torn between 4.50 BTNC, Momentum 2 on ear wireless and these. I need the Bluetooth for phone and cable for PS4. Right now I have Momentum wired on ear for ps4. Based on your earpad review and me liking the look of the other two more, I think I know where I'm heading. Thanks!
@@danielaghaei1483 I have the over ear momentum 2. I use it wired on PS4 and Bluetooth for everything else. No lag. I can even stream my TV audio to it thru a Roku app on my phone. Flawless.
these Sennheiser's HD 450BT's are 129 ( Canadian ) 95 ( USD ) for black friday ....the Edifier 950 are 179 ( canadian ) 131 ( USD )....i just need a set of headphones for watching netflix and my ipad for movies and utube and music....the noise cancellation and calls are not important to me really but GOOD sound is ....would these be a good buy ? or which headphones would you say to get for what i am gonna use them for....cheers from Canada
I just bought the HD 450BT phones for my wife. Very disappointed. I have two year old HD 4.50BTNC phones and they are much better. Why? 1. Mic - the mic on the older phones sounds like my normal voice when doing conference calls. But the new phones make me sound like I’m talking from the bottom of a well. 2. Cable fit - the cable on the new phones is awkward to connect/disconnect compared to the BTNC. 3. Buttons - the BT button is now in a more awkward position and black on black is difficult to see in anything but strong light. I imagine they will be hard to use on a flight. The black on silver with the BTNC is far more user friendly. 4. Sound - i use my BTNCs a lot for music and podcasts. The volume from my iphone is good. But the BT is noticeably quieter requiring me to turn up the volume on the source device. 5. Comfort - seems the same to me.
Hey, I just bought these and they're great, except for one thing. On calls and voice assistant I can hear all the audio recorded by the mic coming back into the headphones so I can hear my own voice and background noise through the headphones. Any idea of how to disable this?
Both 450bt and 458bt have one common issue, we hear back our own voice plus the surrounding's from its microphone during calls. Not recommended because of this irritable issue.
I've my pair of 4.50 BTNC for around/under 2 years and A tiny hairline crack is now on the hinges of the silver accents near the silicone, not the ear pads. The fact that the build quality is the same makes me wonder if I should upgrade if mine breaks down in the near future of if I should be looking for a better set of wireless overear headphones.
I went with the 350BTs cause i don’t care about the headphone jack at all and i just saved a 100$.but it’s the first time i get headphones and i didn’t know that head size and ear size matters that much.i ordered them and today they were shipped and tomorrow they arrive and i have a kinda big head and a little bit big ears that stick out... Great.(sarcasm) Hope a miracle happens and it fits me well lol my father would kill me if they don’t.
I have the older 4.50btnc and the only issue I have with them is the beeping when increasing volume or switching tracks. Sometimes it randomly starts beeping through a song as if I was changing setting on the phone or something. Have you used the new ones long enough to see if this was fixed? It’s a pretty popular issue online and users tend to say just forget the device, reconnect, rinse and repeat when it comes back
I just bought these and have the same issue. When noise cancelling is off there is a continuous beeping but if i switch noise canceling to on there is no beeping. Super annoying might return the headphones unless i find a fix
I just bought these and have an issue as it is beeping continuously once i pair it with my iPhone. When noise cancelling is off there is a continuous beeping but if i switch noise canceling to on there is no beeping. Super annoying might return the headphones unless i find a fix.
So just a summary, these headphone do suck bough the HD450BT, first sound nothing special, yeah bluetooth 5.0 is nice with Aptx, aptx LL is also great if you bluetooth adapter on laptop / pc does support it. two main drawbacks, the application on mobile sucks, they are quite terrible to wear over 30min+, have now the Sony WH-XB900N way better, comfortable, if needed boomy, perfect app with lots of features, and far better mic, doing calls via goto, Slack, skype way better. Tap on the right earbud is also way better then the buttons on the HD450, and one last topic try to gues in what more are in with the HD450, in the WH-XB900 when you switch between nodes you can an information which mode is used, also the battery information is cool. In short if you find the Sony WH-XB900N on an good price get them. if you are on budge get the WH-CH710N , have the XB900 and I had for two days the CH710 they are also decent.
@@martinspilovsky9071 Isn't the sennheiser hd 450bt more neutral in sound? Now I choose between sennheiser and sony wh xb900n and in my country they cost the same. Does sony sound undetailed and the bass muffles all other frequencies (I listen mostly to rock, metal, only occasionally pop). Thank.
I just saw some of your reviews; I have the option through promo points to get the Sennheiser 450BT or the Bowers & Wilkins PX5 but I can not really decide. What do you recommend best?
GYMCADDY, would you recommend the HD 450BT's or the PXC 550 ii's in terms of Sound Quality? I'm bummed the PXC 550 ii's don't have USB-C, but at the end of the day sound quality is my priority
@@robertconrad2880 I have pxc 550(first gen) they do get quite loud, not crazy. Sound quality is one of the best if you like natural sound rather than Bose and Sony.
@@luckynguyen7935 thank you! I decided to go for the pxc ii's! I'm still bummed they don't have USB-C, but ultimately I just want good sound in a light package
