Senri is a 98 pound stick of dynamite and easily, one of the best drummers today. Her skills are shocking. I taught at the Conservatory level for 23 years and I do know what I am talking about.
If only she could put together a modern 16-piece hard-driving brass band of the Buddy Rich genre. She could hone her musical repertoire and grow to come a more complete percussion player. Of course, Buddy Rich was the greatest of all time who spent decades to develop his musicality.
She also plays with the Tokyo All-Stars Jazz Orchestra from time to time. Just look for the gecko on the bass drum in the videos. The Jazz Avengers is a current project that is an all female jazz band (super group) that features very talented artists that all have strong solo work and released an album in 2023. They have been on a tour in Japan and have gotten better and more comfortable as a group as they have a better feel of where the solos will go etc.
