It could have been and credit to how well you played but you lack enough of a cutting edge and inventiveness around area at minute, loads of possession but it's pointless when being forced to shoot from outside box, 1st was deflected 2nd was a lapse in concentration from our sub.
I'm a saints fan and I watched the mach yesterday and when we scored the second goal i nearly hade a heart attack and I screamed so loud I think my brothers neirbors heard it at the top of the apartment 😂❤😂😂😂😂❤
@@danielcartwright1150 new manager & new system only been 4 weeks but there's already been visible improvements and new players still to be integrated into team
Me too my friend. We both know most of the saints possession was pointless over passing. We were ok. Solid and organised. We have something to build on. Southampton will get found out.
@@jb894 Obviously, we lost. But only by 1 goal (of which the 1st was deflected, and the 2nd was a defensive error) in 105 mins of play, against a team worth 340 million Euros more than ours.
Southampton dominated possession but hardly any end product, it was quite cringe to be honest, like over passing. Constantly ballooning shots over the bar. Still only scraped past us. I predict Wednesday will finish above Southampton.
This was our first competitive game under a new manager! I think we coped well seeing as you couldn’t get anywhere near us😂 I like your faith but you have got to stop smoking drugs mate ,you will get mid table at best
As a Swansea fan, overpassing is what Russell Martin does. It gets quite tedious after a while tbh. Southampton have better players than we did though so may do better in front of goal as the season goes on. Saints fans will need patience.
Is this title a joke? They had a record 427 passes in first half with 90% possession and scored once, that is a lot of things but sensational isn’t one of them, they clearly have absolutely atrocious defence and lack a lot of creativity, a stereotypical Martin team, against sides that are even a tiny bit more creative they’re going to leak goals like a sieve
The difference in quality was quite stark in the first half. Dunno what Weds are expected to do. They almost got a point out of this very strong Saints side, with EPL quality players such as Tella, Armstrong, Ward-Prowse. Are they supposed to lose 2-6 in the home opener but play "nice football".? The only objective for the owls is to stay up this season, and hopefully get a new owner next summer.
@@pahakuutti Finally a sensible post on here, well said, I think we'll do far better against teams not full of Prem players, but good to see some people understand how tactics work.
You're stupid if you think we're gonna go out to play expansive football against a Prem squad worth upwards of £100m. We played the correct tactics in the second half after realising we sat back too much in the first. Nearly came away with a draw or more.
