My head is thumping. I've been a Wednesday fan for 5 decades and I've never witnessed anything like it. People can say "It's only a League 1 Playoff semi final", but you don't get to feel emotions like that very often.
Mate, watching Forest get to Wembley last year after 25 years outside of the prem. Again on a penalty shootout. The elation is just indescribable. Really happy for Wednesday, go and win it all now!
I don't live in UK. But English lower league games are challenging yet rewarding. I play FM religiously, I understand the challenge, emotion related to lower league. I also follow few lower league clubs and learned their history. It is amazing.
I'm from The Netherlands but all the english football leagues are amazing. Maybe not with the best football but all the drama makes it amazing. A few weeks ago in the National league play offs and now this great comeback from Sheffield. Football is great.
One of best highlights I've ever seen. That crowd is fire. I'm French and I've always asked myself what is my favorite English club since I'm a kid. Never found an answer. Seeing that game, that crowd and that epic owl logo, I feel I now have my answer. Looking forward to next game.
That commentary for the 4th goal, sends me cold every time I hear it. "Floats it to Aden Flint!!!! They've done it!" Goosebumps, hair stands up on my arms, the lot!
There is nothing like this in the world. I’ve never been more jealous of anything as an American as I am of lower league English football. You lot can just go a mile down the road any given Saturday and watch people really fighting for dreams.
It's a truly beautiful thing, something I am greatly appreciative of. I was lucky enough to be at Hillsborough on this historic night under the lights and I will never forget it
That's true but Wednesday are the exception rather than the rule, they should never be in the lower leagues, year after year of mismanagement have cost us the fans dear.. Great comment btw 👍
I've watched us lose at Wembley, I've watched us beat united at Wembley, I've watched us win playoffs, I've bounced on the streets of Cardiff but nothing compared to this atmosphere players and management deserve all the praise they're rightly getting but to each and everyone of us who roared them on deserve to give yourselves a pat on back absolutely phenomenal support, Hillsborough was rocking from 1st minute to the last.
Sheer and utter madness. Absolutely scintillating. Incredible comeback by Sheffield Wednesday. 20:53 "The Thursday that Wednesday will never forget." ... perfectly put. This one ranks right up there with Watford-Leicester City and Liverpool-Barcelona. This is why we watch.
I saw my first game late 1950s with dad. Fair to say there haven't been many special moments since but for drama, passion, & desire, this is probably the best I've witnessed.
I'm from France and had no idea about this play-offs games in English D3. ALL I LOVE. Thrilling game to watch, amazing atmosphere, those Kids will remember that for the rest of their life. Wonderful game
WoW. Quite simply WoW. I have been watching footie since 1968 and that must be one of the best matches I have seen. PROPER football and PROPER supporters so a PROPER ATMOSPHERE. Fantastic!
What is "Proper" ? The highlights does not mean there was that for the entire 120 minutes. Football is football, supporters are supporters - personally, the re-rise if the England flag many supporters at clubs have, is rather silly - why not just club colours. It is a bit embarrassing. Other European clubs don't do that so much
im west ham and i give it to the fans for showing up with such belief and support that got the team over the line. amazing atmosphere and the most exciting game ive ever seen. good sense of humour up that way.
I remember having a good few beers with some of your lads, and a couple of Hartlepool supporters, after we won the PO final in Cardiff. Ye lads beat Preston the next day. Here we go again with both teams in a final in the same season. IT'S AN OMEN I TELL THEE. WAWAW
From a 52 Year supporting Tractor Boy well done Owls - that was sheer guts 'n' glory stuff. Play like that at Wembley and you'll be up with us next season and deservedly so.
yep. im a liverpool fan but this is astonishing! i watched it live on tv with ny sheffield wednesday fan brother, we was screaming after they made it 5-5 and was screaming EVEN LOUDER when that last spot kick was taken.
Bilmem kaç alt lig ama şu kaliteye bak adamların ana ligini geçtim artık alt liglerle bile yarışmak imkansız şu saha oynanan futbol.. gerçekten inanılmaz
Fair play for all the Wednesday fans to pay for a ticket and show up to a game when you're losing 4-0 on aggregate. Each and every single one of them deserve to get a free ticket to Wembley, because they believed when many neutrals (including me) didn't give them a chance. Well done, Sheffield Wednesday.
I bought my ticket before the Peterborough game and thought about selling glad I didn’t, best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced, proud supporter of this club, and if you’re a true fan you’ll always stay till the end cause there’s always a late goal 😅😅🔵⚪️🔵🔵🦉🦉
As a Blade obviously I am partial, but delighted for Darren Moore (his management career was possibly on the line), regardless of who he manages. Seriously. Bravo, but it’ll mean little to nothing unless it’s complemented by a Wembley win. Great for the city of Sheffield, IF Wednesday get back into the championship. Keeping the momentum going shouldn’t be beyond them.
I'm from Morocco a fan of the premier league and i love watching playoff matches even if shiefeld lose 4-0 when evryone are watching europa league but me i rather to wach a crazy english match i was still blieve that shefield can do it and they did it that's why i love english football over spanish or any other leagues and yeah even if the classico between barca and real madrid in the same time i'll watch the playoff matches always english football
Wow!! I Was rooting for Sheffield even though they had lost in the 1st leg..this will go down in history for sure. English football is just something else, the fans...old clubs with rich traditions. Well done to Sheffield!
What a game ,what a team Wednesday are ,im glad they got promoted as they were the best team in the division, yeah banon is something else, all the best in the champions owls fans from a Pompey supporter 🙏🏼👍🏼
Big congrats to sheff wed! Incredible hunger and resilience to come back and win that. Wow! I’m a Leicester fan and we’ve seen highs like these. So enjoy the moment owls fans lap it up. Your going to wembley. Good luck btw
I am a Wednesday fan who lives in Leicester. Have played this footage over and over. Would love to have been there. Watched the final at the Stirrup Cup on Thurncourt Road. Apologies to the landlord for my massive meltdown at the 123rd minute goal by Windass. All this was a miracle, I will never forget it. King Power. here we come! Husband is a Leicester fan, this will prove interesting!
Brought back some of the amazing glory days Wednesday had back in the 90s never thought I'd see those again. Yeah its only league one and we still have to beat Barnsley but what a result 😊
Wow. This is easily one of the most exciting matches I have ever watched. It had everything. The great atmosphere at the stadium, even before kickoff, despite the first leg score. The great comeback. A great bicycle kick by a home player and its great save by the goalkeeper. The fourth goal coming right at the end, and wild celebrations after that. The look of shock on the visitor manager's face after it became 3-0. Visitors going ahead on aggregate again in extra time but home side equalising again. And before the equaliser, referee missing a foul which should have resulted in a red card for the Wednesday player. And then penalties and the wild celebrations afterwards. What a match!
Newcastle fan here, for me the greatest EVER comeback has to be Liverpool v AC Milan in the champions league then Newcastle v Arsenal but I’m putting sheff weds game 3rd I was keeping an eye on the game and probably would have watched it if we weren’t playing such an important game, and everyone loves a comeback because of your comeback I will be rooting for yous hopefully you lot will get the promotion Good luck in the final and gotta say aren’t the playoffs just amazing there’s always a game or 2 what is a bit special.
@@davidmark3788 cheers mate we’re just happy we’re showing a bit of ambition and we got so lucky getting Eddie Howe, which by most supporters admission wasn’t our first choice but he seems to know what the fans want and has been amazing, I remember when yous were in the prem and had some fantastic players like carbone and Di Canio 2 players I would have loved at Newcastle at the time you never know get promoted and it could be the start of good times for yous again.
Wednesday have been one of my favourite teams in the world since the early 60s, and thrilled to see them triumph in this epic comeback. See them in the Final and the EFL Championship next season!
Wednesday's crowd was literally the 12th man ..the team seemed to be feeding of them... Wednesday haven't played like that all season... tactically it must have been a surprise for Peterborough because Wednesday haven't played that direct or with that pace all season
Playing 120 minutes like it was all added on time, it was a true feat of conditioning. Peterborough threw it away. That's on darren ferguson, the mentality was all wrong. Whether he wanted to be the tactic or not, playing for time from the kickoff is what made it possible for Wednesday's desire to win the game.
I can’t get also how many people goes to watch their team even if is the 3rd league, in Italy there are not much people going to the stadium if is not serie a or serie b
@@francescorignanese3447 i can understand why you would think that way but in England the club's are our identity our community it's almost tribal... and it's past on from generation to generation regardless of how poor or how good the club is... trying to put it into words is hard... maybe someone could explain it better
My first visit to Hillsborough was in 1953 and I think Keith Ellis, Don Megson, and Johnny Fantham were in the team in those days but am very proud of the manager and players of today.
I'm glad Old Taggart son got his just rewards thinking Peterborough had won, I watched the Newcastle game and then I put Wednesday on, I thought it was a Leg pull seeing Wednesday 4-0 up, and I watched Extra time and Penalties and I'm delighted Wednesday have gone to play off final and hopefully Wednesday will win it
Sheffield Wednesday deserved that. Not only were they above everybody else (along Plymouth and Ipswich) but the fight and belief since minute one of this game . Not only the players but Owl's amazing supporters ! Congratulations !
@@robbie3636 I actually visited Sheffield in July of 2021 and I was surprised of how big their stadium was for a club that was in League 1 and I just started supporting them after seeing how big their fans are into the matches
Well done Wednesday.....from a SkyBlue supporter. Brilliant display of passion, aggression and skill. That's how the game should be played. All this sideways tippy-tappy these days is killing the game as a spectacle. So entertaining !!
The Liam Palmer goal is one of the greatest moments in englosh football history. The set piece, the goal, hillsbrough crowd sounding like champions League quality, the fans celebrating with the team, the stewards lettin the fans have their moment. All that was missing was Peter Drury. This has most definately cleared "Hogg...DEENEY!!!"
Possibly one of the best games I've seen in my life. And I'm 67 now. Heart attack football. And I'm not even a Peterborough or Wednesday supporter. Congrats to Wednesday. What a season for both Sheffield teams. Football can be such an amazing experience.
Sometimes, a football game can take you through a whole range of extreme emotions, that nothing else can come close to replicating. This was one of those games. Not just the comeback, but to equalise after P'boro scored in et. That took guts. Reminded me of us vs Barca. I was there that night & will never forget that game. Neither will anyone who was in Hillsborough for this one. Sheff Wed fully deserved this & they might even be playing Everton next season...😁
Thanks england thanks footbal england to give creating footbal soccer for the wolrld with the best stadium and clubs ....england is different than eny contry love you from morocco
i've not heard of either of these teams but its ALL over tiktok. this will go down as one of the greatest comebacks of ALL TIME, regardless of the sport. pure goosebumps!
Incredible stuff and well done to the Owls. A club with pedigree and a grand old ground. Reminds me of our epic League Cup Semi Final against Tranmere in 1994. Up the Villa.
