I have felt so alone through my journey, until I discovered this channel recently. I want to thank you for what you are doing. You all save lives, and you have saved mine by giving me hope. I am currently going through a relapse after being "free" of OCD symptoms for nearly three years, and it is quite jarring. It is a mix of hoarding/memory-related fears with sensorimotor obsessions. Basically I saw a video on RU-vid that I hadn't cared about until now, and my mind tries to compel me to find that RU-vid video, and if I do not, I will be hyperaware of saliva/swallowing for my whole life. I have overcome so many OCD themes relating to physical compulsions, but this theme, though it was tremendously distressing when I got triggered, will truly teach me the levels of acceptance I will need to learn. I will need to do everything I normally do, even if it feels like shit. You have given me hope to live another day, and to go back to my normal routine and bring my sensations with me. Thank you.

did it go away your symptoms of an urge of constant swallowing?

@ankanroy3132 3 месяца назад
@@GracelynCasas The symptoms have abated quite a bit and I am able to manage my thoughts much more clearly now. It took a long time for me to reach this stage. It will take a great level of acceptance and behavioral change, but it is possible, and I am doing quite well now. I thought I would never come to this stage, but such thinking is fueled by the hopelessness I felt at the moment. Thank you for asking.

Hey Matheus! So I noticed with myself that the fear doesn't tend to go away on its own. I thought life shouldn't be this way either, but then I had to practice changing my perspectives on the sensation.

Could you maybe mention height insecurities and height bodydysmorphia in your upcoming video about body dysmorphia? As you are rather short yourself, I wonder if it ever affected your confidence and self esteem the way it did with me. I have struggled with extreme insecurities about my height although I'm not even really short (5'9) because social media and the internet gave me the irrational belief that being short as a man equals to not being a "true man" and being completely unattractive, no matter what your other features are. Sometimes, I felt like I was a literal dwarf and that everyone was towering over me, although I knew that it wasnt true. It has gotten much better, now that I started disputing and breaking it down but I still get insecure from time to time.
@mominmasood

Keep working on disputing and doing exposures. Cut out any compulsions you're doing to make sure you appear manly.

I have had hyper hydrosis all my life and I dread getting anxious. I avoid getting into relationships with guys because it triggers excitement and fear and I can't handle how that affects my body. When I was young I was completely obsessed with my sweating and avoiding and attempting to control it

Are internal body urges/sensations part of somatic ocd? Like my brain tells me to blur my vision or clench my sphincter and do repetitive stuff that i dont want to do but like is easy to do and at the same time it’s uncomfortable. Im i crazy?😭

Hey bud! So accepting that humans will notice their sensations from time to time is key. When I am hiking in Colorado there are certainly times where I am aware of my sensations because of the lack of oxygen, but there is no fear cycle.

It would be nice if you talked about medication cuz I have learned from hundreds of videos on sensorimotor that most of you trying to help are usually on medication and it's usually not talked about. Most of us watching don't want medication we want a cbt or erp or act cure. But I'm willing to bet most of you are on medication and fooling us into thousands of dollars of therapy from your programs to fix this. I checked. It's literally thousands of dollars for your actual therapy. How much sertraline are you on? How many benzodiazepines to be so calm about these issues. It's a scam like everything in this world. So sad. To anyone reading just try medication even though I have not but I'm also a sucker for horrible pain. And when. Sensorimotor makes you feel stuck in your own body and you can't escape type of anxiety then you know what I'm saying. I'm so sick of everyone trying to sell me therapy when zoloft is free. Even though I don't take it. For me I just say F$$$ you anxiety. Fear. Ocd. Sensorimotor. I just sit in it and wait for all the pain. Eventually you will get board of it.
