The movie Vaira Nenjam, though directed by my favorite director of all time CV Sridhar, did not do well commercially but I remember listening to this song constantly in Ilangai Vaanoli. Another masterpiece by the impeccable combination of MSV, Kannadasan, TMS/PSuseela, who has showered us with immortal melodies in the sixties and still had the mojo to give yet another one in the 70s. With regard to the composition itself, it was certainly a masterpiece only MSV was capable of composing, and kudos to Mukesh and Farida for taking up this difficult song. I think it was set in the raga Darbaari Kaanada and MSV's imagination of using the instruments such as sitaa, flute and a bunch of violins was quite evident throughout the song (he has done this thousands of times over the years). I also felt MSV's ingenious of using the percussion piece with drums and bangos in this song. I also love the rhythm piece was pleasingly presented with the use of flute. Of course, what I can say about the youthful voices of TMS and PSuseela even during the late stage in their career. For example, please listen the this part in the Just listen to the line:. "Sevvandhi Poo meedhu VeNNeela Vandu Jil endru neeraadudhu.......". in the last charanam that confirms TMS/PS stamp that music lovers like us are used. Thanks for sharing this song with us. I’ve become a huge fan of the way Mukesh enjoys the co-singer’s little nuances and encourages them!!! Such fun to watch 😊 exceptional rendition from all involved. Faridha’s voice is a 200% match for PS’s voice! Hats off to the orchestra that they didn’t miss a beat (pun intended) when Faridha started the aalaap a shade late. They adjusted seamlessly 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼👌🏼
