Thank god! Bernard, if you are reading this, I am so sorry that you had to spend even 1 day for a plant. In the late 90’s, I did a LOt for legalization laws and was CONSTANTLY told by the Vietnam aged hippies that it would never happen, unfortunately I hear stories like yours that prove how much STILL needs done. Also, for the probation/parole violations that NOBODY is breaking a law but rather they are keeping them in the system. Soooo much justice reform. I hope from the bottom of my heart that you are enjoying your life on the outside.

Great news !!! Yeah, I realized this was from 2016, after I saw our idiot congressman, Clay Higgins, claiming to be an officer, he was fired soon after the filming of this, as he was from every post he’s ever had since he became a cop at 40 y/o. He was a failed car salesman, alcoholic & in the midst of a midlife crisis after another wife left… so, he decided to become a cop (as one does). His 1st posting, he cuffed then proceeded to beat a black bystander that had nothing to do with the scene, for not letting him search his truck (which he did anyway). He repeatedly called him “boy”, as well. Then he made his version of “crimestoppers” videos, which he was sued by victims & family members of his racist videos. Claiming young men w/ bench warrants for unpaid tickets & such were gang members & he said things like “you come to me boy, you raise your weapon ? I will return fire with superior fire” & “I’ll get you boy”, “I’ll show you no quarter”… now imagine foghorn leghorn saying all that, he was subdued in this interview, but he usually amps up his Cajun accent to a bizarre cartoonish quality. Bobby Guidroz, (the guy who claimed he was the “Daddy” of the parish 🙄) actually reprimanded him multiple times for his tone & advertising himself as the “Cajun John Wayne” in uniform & doing paid gigs in uniform, and even selling shirts & coffee mugs w/ his badge visible in the ads . He brought the attention of the ACLU w/ his overt racism & was fired… but it was too late; he was already running for Congressman, as “Cajun John Wayne”, the yr Trump won, & a lot of conservatives went wild over his schtick !

Obesity is basically an epidemic in Louisiana, but it is difficult to not get addicted to and overindulge in all the amazing foods/recipes Louisiana has to offer. Unfortunately there is even more alcohol addicts which adds greatly to the number of obese Louisianians.

I wonder what a war on obesity would look like though! I imagine them shutting down fast food places and more grocery stores. Sugar would have limits in their food and high fructose corn would be banned. Maybe incentives and more resources for weight loss! However, knowing our government, it will be just like it was with the war on drugs, treating it like its a criminal issue and not a public health issue while the institutions that make it, never get held responsible.

What should change is that there should be mandatory academy training every so many years and just like they needed to be fit to even become an officer, they need to either maintain that or loose their job. The jazz clubs in north Harlem were seen having a lot of young white women go and have fun smoking that “devil’s lettuce”, and the older staunch racists didn’t like that too much at the time. However fast forward and it was truly a way to demonize subcultures. The vast majority of people in jail are men. Are police also sexist? Of course not, it's more nuanced than that. Police departments use statistics to address crime. Areas of high crime get the most enforcement. Those areas tend to be poor and black. So when police go into these areas and start doing proactive enforcement, it makes sense that mostly black people are being arrested. Do you expect them to go into rich neighborhoods with no violent crime and start arresting asian kids or something? Even if the police department was 100% black people, you would still see this disparity. The real questions we have to address is why are black neighborhoods so poor, and why do black men commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime in this country? The answer is shitty hood culture, along with the break down of the nuclear family in the black community.

He used a teen chat group on Quora (of all places !) & targeted other underage girls, as well ! He’s in jail awaiting trial, my niece is working on healing, & my brother & his wife are so fearful of ever calling the police again, no matter the circumstances.
