Damn, it’s almost like police corruption is a huge problem in America

"We've done an internal investigation and found no wrongdoing by the police officers involved" is a police station's favorite statement.

So basically this documentary is telling us that "Training Day" was not fiction. OMG! WTF!?

That kind of sh** makes you sick.

It should be illegal for any police department to handle corruption internally, rather than having a third party investigation.

"We'll get rid of all the criminals so the only ones doing any real crimes will be us."- The Police.

As a Kentucky native I can tell you that this is a huge problem in Louisville and Lexington as well and the departments need major reform!

My husband died in a cab in Louisville. The police stole his phone, which I was able to track to prove it, and $5K in cash & a blank check out of his wallet. Then one officer kept texting me asking for his social security number and other personal details. I looked up the officers involved and they had been arrested twice for similar things (yet were still cops). I had to call a different precinct to get her to stop. About 2 months later, a check was written against the account for $69,000. They’re corrupt as hell and heartless

My brother's brand new vehicle was stolen in Louisville. My brother called them multiple times to ask them if they found it. They kept saying, no. He eventually found out (after it was auctioned off) that they found it the very next day after it was stolen. Please do a story on this issue next. He has phone records proving that he called them multiple times to ask if they found it yet. They lied about having it, just to buy time to auction it off as "unclaimed property." The Louisville police are criminals. Attorneys even told him they couldn't do anything, because the Louisville police are so good at legally committing crime.

As a Louisville citizen, thank you for doing these investigations! So many people are taken advantage of and are kept waiting and waiting for justice that never comes.

EVERY COP SHOULD HAVE A BODY CAM. WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE EVERY DAMN THING. NO MORE EXCEPTIONS.

It should be completely illegal to enter a house through a warrant without body cameras running the whole time, on every single officer. That footage should then be saved in storage for future access.

Whenever I'm on a jury trial if there is no video evidence always find the person not guilty why should you take the word of an officer over a civilian when they tell you they are allowed to lie to you

Wanting to do this job makes you a sociopath. Being able to sleep at night after committing crimes against citizens makes you a psychopath.

Authorities should be punished twice as hard when committing these crimes. They are suppose to protect and serve. But this system is just criminal. It's unreal.

"Training Day" was basically a documentary. This is what unchecked overhanded power equals 99% of the time.

This has happened to me. My Ex-Wife filed a bogus protection from abuse order during our divorce after I filed for custody of our children. The Police Detectives performed a search warrant/ home invasion robbery. They broke into my safe, stole money that wasn’t declared, then erased the video camera recordings to “tamper with the evidence” and dispose of it. In court, all four smiled @ me & waved. Who are you supposed to turn to when you’re armed robbed by the police ? The FEDS ? or is there just nobody & they got away with it… which they did

Proactive policing is unconstitutional by irs very wording. All searches and seizures without a warrant issued by a sitting judge should be considered unconstitutional and dismissed from the books.

I’m a bus driver and we get held to a higher standard than the cops, cops aren’t even hit with random drug tests. They can do coke all day and then pull someone over and steal their coke. Who wouldn’t want that job

We are one of the most segregated cities in the United States, and even after the passing of Breonna’s Law, there has been little done to combat systemic police oppression against select communities - even the judge that signed the no-knock warrant that got Breonna murdered is still on the bench. Thank you for raising international awareness about our city’s plights.

I was stopped in Missouri and harassed. He searched my car. He had his dog walk around the car and he kept trying to push the dog down and the dog howled. I am a senior citizen, piano teacher, and it is obvious that I do NOT do anything harder than jelly bellies. He called in "backup" and could not find anything. He had me pull over off the freeway (70) and it got dark and after a couple hours, they got another call and took off. My (older) car battery was drained and I was stuck. There is NO WAY he would even think I was connected with crime. He kept my car registration. I have no idea what he could have been looking for, maybe hidden money? ( I don't have money, hidden or otherwise.) I will never forget that experience and also, I will never drive through Missouri again, even though I own property there. I was also stopped in Wyoming at a Loves and the police said I was reported as "drunk walking". I do not drink. It was freezing but he pulled up a chair and slept outside my car all night as I would not open the window as there was another man in regular clothes on the other side of the car and the policeman was wearing a reindeer hat. I was too tired to call the "real" police so I went to sleep in my car and was amazed the next morning that he was still there, sleeping in his chair, (or pretending to sleep) outside my car. I was worried that he might have frozen to death but then I noticed his police car lights were flashing behind me. I woke him up to make sure he was alive. I don't know if he was pretending to have slept there all night but he kept me safe. He looked across my dash and saw my cane and realized that I was NOT drunk walking. I dreamed that I was his grandmother and he was a little boy and had dragged a Christmas Tree over to my house.

They wrote down 10,189 and only gave him back 10,010. How do they not understand its being stolen smh

These cops are incredibly corrupt. I live in Louisville and my nephew was in a motor vehicle accident in 2020. He was injured and before being loaded into the ambulance, an LMPD officer at the scene emptied my nephews pockets and ended up keeping $1,300 that was in my nephews wallet. We had a withdrawal slip from my nephew's bank and his accident wasn't even part of a criminal investigation but despite our complaints to LMPD and other organizations we never got the money back. I know it's not a huge amount but it was a significant amount for my nephew who was 22 at the time.

When they start getting sick off of tainted money you'll know who's stealing it.

Imagine being framed, robbed, abused and lied to by the very people who are suppose to "serve and protect you?" I feel for those guys and the fact that they feel so alone because they "fit" the negative stereotype of black men makes me feel sick.

This goes back decades in Jefferson county KY...I've heard dozens of story's over the years,CASH, JEWELRY,COINS,DRUGS,...ALL COMMODITIES TO POLICE...

A drug king pin states 10 lbs was confiscated... But in court cops states that 3 lbs was taken... The judge drops the case...! And this is one that got caught... Imagine how many more departments in the U.S. is getting away with it?!

Knew the son of a sheriff. He used to sell the evidence locker weed. Always had the most random weed. I don't know how people are acting like this is a mystery.

The sad thing is that this happens all across America and the lawyers, judges, and prosecutors know and all of these people are under oath... if a law enforcement officer is caught doing anything like this they should be charged with conspiracy, racketeering, and have all assets seized and a mandatory sentence of 15 years

"Nobody cares about these people.". You can tell that's how they feel. Anybody who's been to court for a minor traffic violation and ends up leaving court feeling like they must have committed a felony, already knows. As rude as those judges can be.

If law enforcement officers are required to wear body cameras and don't, they have violated police policies breaking the law. They need to be investigated and fired and held accountable

I live in Louisville and I thank everyone involved with this documentary at Vice. Our police department has been allowed to run rampant for way too long. Many of them are worse than the people they are stealing from and arresting. Something needs to be done!

Please keep covering stories like this. We need REAL news stories not lies being fed down from one hand to another. Vice always goes straight to the source and people in these situations. I love that.

theres no reason any good cop should be against wearing a bodycam and having all parts of their public intervention on record. Period.

When I was young I told my father I was going into organised crime, he asked private sector or government?

Louisville police pulled me over once literally minutes after I went to the bank to get $1,000 for my rent. They asked for pay recipients for the initial deposit like I would have that info on me then confiscated my grand as drug money. I of course was able to fight it but the fee for just filling out the form was $500 so I never got charged with a crime and they kept my money because I couldn't afford to argue. First time I was in in Louisville and the last time.

Just look at these shady azz cops. They look like the most untrustworthy people you can find. This is disgraceful and ridiculously insane for these flat-out criminals to be called, law enforcement.

I will never forget the time when I was 19 and working at a gas station. A woman came in crying, and began to tell her friend who also worked at the gas station, all about how police raided her home. The woman was totally traumatized, her children were traumatized. Her elderly mother was traumatized. Her home, and all her possessions were ruined and destroyed. The police had also verbally humiliated her as well. Listening to her tell it, there was no doubt at all she was telling the truth. And to top it all off, they found nothing illegal in her home.

Corrupt police disgust me in the same way child predators do. They should get much harsher punishment than the average citizen.

I am 61 years old and its sad to say in all my experiences I have never heard of a police officer actually 'helping' someone. But I have heard of and experienced many times when a police officer 'hassled' someone. Very sad.

My friend got raided and they took a few kilo's of drugs and 10k in cash and the cash that showed up in court was just over 1k...My friend even brought it up at court and he got ignored by the judge...It's their word against yours and your word means nothing!

same thing happened to me long time ago task force took my night vision goggles and other devices after sitting in my house for over 8hrs waiting for a warrant to be approved and never reported the equipment.....
