Thirty-year-old Wade Wilson was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder after he killed 35-year-old Kristine Melton and 43-year-old Diane Ruiz in October of 2019. Wilson met Melton at a bar and later choked her to death when they went back to her home. Wilson late stole Melton's car, then killed Ruiz while she was walking to work. Her body was found in a field less than a week later. Wilson could face the death penalty for these gruesome crimes.

I still don’t agree with the death penalty. There will be appeal after appeal, and it will cost the state far more than just putting him in prison for life. At the same time, I don’t agree with parole for any monster like this, ever.

The continuation of the United States to impose the death penalty in contravention of the UDHR has severely damaged that country's overall standing in the world. To the point that other countries will not ever even extradite the most heinous of criminals there. Wade Wilson is a heinous criminal. There's no doubt about that but he has the right to life in international law. No court or jury should be able to usurp that. It's that right that protects the innocent as well as the guilty.

Well Sir, that boy isn't there. That boy is long gone. Wade Wilson (that "another body," let's add the little detail, the one that killed those human beings), can't be fix. And even if he could be fixed, he doesn't want to be fixed because he decided to write hate in his head and be evil. Love cannot fix anything that does not want to be "fix". Sorry but there are people out there who’ve down way worse, shoot up a school serial killers, beating and kill animals etc. yes what he did was absolutely vial. But I don’t believe death penalty is necessary. This man has majorrrr mental health issues, he’s never gotten a chance, he wasn’t raised right didn’t have a legit family. No one could understand him or love him right to help him. When he was sober I’m sure everything was great but any amount of substances he turned dark and evil. I’ve witnessed stuff like this first hand, teach someone it is ok to be sober and be loved and know it’s ok to show or ask that you need help and it isn’t a sign of weakness. It shows great strength to admit you need help. Again my hearts go out to the victims but I believe he’s also a victim of a bad upbringing and the parents and adoptive parents and everyone else failed him along with him failing himself do not being able to ask for help.

Especially on face. Maybe I'm judgemental but for me anybody with face tattoos have something wrong with their brain. Face is the most representative part of our body, covering it in tattoos is not only irresponsible since it blocks many career paths (not everybody wants to have such person in their company) but also face tattoos are very often associated with prisoners.

There was 5 minutes to go and they are discussing the sentencing schedule. It doersnt take 5 minutes to say " You are hereby sentenced to death. Take him away". Why spend more tax payers money sorting a sentencing day out and having more time to sentence him ?

He doesn't have the same regard for human life as u and I so to take his in punishment doesn't make sense to me. U want him to be sorry for his actions then let him sit and ponder them and the fact if why he's locked up for life rather than take something that clearly means very little to him. And as for him smerking as they read the verdict...she can't even pronounce the word mitigation correctly how do we assume that the life he cares so little for to begin with is going to be taken away and the one to make that announcement isn't even skooled in vocabulary...the mispronounced words make it seem far less serious than it is.. clearly he isn't hanging on the facts of the situation but more so the energy of it.....just saying

All the defense attorneys were doing here was getting this waste of time over with. Wade has admitted to committing these murders to a multitude of people since the very day he committed them (including law enforcement as well as random freak groupies, his ex, & his dad over jail MONITORED & RECORDED calls fyi). Wade is also on monitored recorded jail calls talking about how guilty he is and pleading insanity is his only way out and when the defense tried to get him to comply with a psychiatric evaluation to do so he wouldn’t even comply. lol Dude was never getting out from behind bars and he admittedly knew that, so this was all a waste of time and unnecessary relived trauma for all involved.

Jurors voted mostly for death but as far as I know, the final sentence will be said in one last day since jurors only gave a recommendation what penalty he should have.

He is not a person I would like to Braai with. Perhaps he in his own devided space knows wht he did. Thus calling people that would listen. Ooohh ok. I thought I heard the judge mention a woman’s name as though they were starting another case against him. I couldn’t understand why since he’s already been given the DP.

It’s called a Spencer Hearing. Spencer hearing, named for the 1993 case of Spencer v. Florida, is an opportunity for the defendant’s lawyers to present additional evidence to the judge before a sentence is entered. In that case, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that a trial judge is required to hold a hearing at which the defendant receives an opportunity to be heard before imposing a death sentence. In addition, when appropriate, the defendant has the opportunity to present any additional evidence, and both sides get to comment on the recommended sentence. The defendant has the right to speak at a Spencer hearing. Typically, trial lawyers use Spencer hearings as an opportunity to argue either that there are mitigating factors suggesting that the death penalty is not warranted or that there is additional evidence supporting reasonable doubt as to their client’s guilt.
