Once you begin seeing people as the Lord sees them, you begin to notice the Light of Christ in everyone. It's so beautiful, especially when you see the light truly shining through them and their actions; but when you happen to encounter someone acting against that light it's so heartbreaking.

It sounds like resurrected bodies will perfect the way countenances function in mortality. Someone can look unattractive, but then they start speaking or you interact with them in some way and they become more attractive. Likewise, someone can look really pretty, but then you start hearing things come out of their mouth and they suddenly look ugly to you. I imagine celestial bodies will be glorious without having to say a single word.

Here's what I have on my "Quotes: A-Z" spreadsheet (excuse the format because I haven't updated it yet: _____________________________________________ NO PROGRESSION FROM KINGDOM TO KINGDOM NO ADVANCEMENT FROM LOWER TO HIGHER. It has been asked if it is possible for one who inherits the telestial glory to advance in time to the celestial glory? The answer to this question is, No! The scriptures are clear on this point. Speaking of those who go to the telestial kingdom, the revelation says: "And they shall be servants of the Most High; but where God and Christ dwell they cannot come, worlds without end." Notwithstanding this statement, those who do not comprehend the word of the Lord argue that while this is true, that they cannot go where God is "worlds without end," yet in time they will get where God was, but he will have gone on to other heights. This is false reasoning, illogical, and creates mischief in making people think they may procrastinate their repentance, but in course of time they will reach exaltation in celestial glory. KINGDOMS PROGRESS IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. Now let us see how faulty this reasoning is. If in time those who enter the telestial glory may progress till they reach the stage in which the celestial is in now - then they are in celestial glory, are they not, even if the celestial has advanced? That being the case (I state this for the argument only, for it is not true), then they partake of all the blessings which are now celestial. That means that they become gods, have exaltation, gain the fulness of the Father, and receive a continuation of the "seeds forever." The Lord, however, has said that these blessings, which are celestial blessings, they may never have; they are barred forever! The celestial and terrestrial and telestial glories, I have heard compared to the wheels on a train. The second and third may, and will, reach the place where the first was, but the first will have moved on and will still be just the same distance in advance of them. This illustration is not true! The wheels do not run on the same track, and do not go in the same direction. The terrestrial and the telestial are limited in their powers of advancement, worlds without end. LIMITATION ON CELESTIAL PROGRESSION. In section 131, the Lord has said, through the Prophet Joseph Smith: "In the celestial glory there are three heavens or degrees; And in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood [meaning the new and everlasting covenant of marriage]; And if he does not, he cannot obtain it. He may enter into the other, but that is the end of his kingdom; he cannot have an increase." So, we see, even in the celestial, some are barred and cannot go on to exaltation. Further light is thrown on this in section 132: "For these angels did not abide my law; therefore, they cannot be enlarged, but remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity, and from henceforth are not gods, but are angels of God forever and ever." These angels, spoken of here, include those who enter the celestial kingdom but do not gain the highest glory in that kingdom. In this same section the Lord says: ""Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye abide my law ye cannot attain to this glory. For strait is the gate, and narrow the way that leadeth unto the exaltation and continuation of the lives, and few there be that find it, because ye receive me not in the world neither do ye know me. But if ye receive me in the world, then shall ye know me, and shall receive your exaltation; that where I am ye shall be also. "This is eternal lives - to know the only wise and true God, and Jesus Christ, whom he hath sent. I am he. Receive ye, therefore, my law. Broad is the gate, and wide the way that leadeth to the deaths; and many there are that go in thereat, because they receive me not, neither do they abide in my law." Now, if a man is deprived of the "continuation of the lives" for ever -- and not to have these blessings is referred to as leading to the deaths, or the lack of the continuation of the lives, or increase - then he cannot "worlds without end" reach the celestial glory; for the celestial glory is "the continuation of the lives" or increase eternally; it is to be gods, even the sons of God. Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, ed. Bruce R. McConkie (Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1954-56), 2:240. President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles _____________________________________________ "Heresy five: There are those who say that there is progression from one kingdom to another in the eternal worlds or that lower kingdoms eventually progress to where higher kingdoms once were. This belief lulls men into a state of carnal security. It causes them to say, “God is so merciful; surely he will save us all eventually; if we do not gain the celestial kingdom now, eventually we will; so why worry?” It lets people live a life of sin here and now with the hope that they will be saved eventually. The true doctrine is that all men will be resurrected, but they will come forth in the resurrection with different kinds of bodies-some celestial, others terrestrial, others telestial, and some with bodies incapable of standing any degree of glory. The body we receive in the resurrection determines the glory we receive in the kingdoms that are prepared. Of those in the telestial world it is written: “And they shall be servants of the Most High; but where God and Christ dwell they cannot come, worlds without end” (D&C 76:112). Of those who had the opportunity to enter into the new and everlasting covenant of marriage in this life and who did not do it, the revelation says: Therefore, when they are out of the world they neither marry nor are given in marriage; but are appointed angels in heaven; which angels are ministering servants, to minister for those who are worthy of a far more, and an exceeding, and an eternal weight of glory. For these angels did not abide my law; therefore, they cannot be enlarged, but remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity; and from henceforth are not gods, but are angels of God forever and ever. [D&C 132:16-17] They neither progress from one kingdom to another, nor does a lower kingdom ever get where a higher kingdom once was. Whatever eternal progression there is, it is within a sphere. Bruce R. McConkie, "The Seven Deadly Heresies" (devotional, Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, June 1, 1980), BYU Speeches. Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles _____________________________________________ I feel to say to my reticent friends: In this life, you have never settled for second best in anything. Yet, as you resist fully embracing the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, you are choosing to settle for second best. The Savior said, ‘In my Father’s house are many mansions.’ However, as you choose not to make covenants with God, you are settling for a most meager roof over your head throughout all eternity.” Russell M. Nelson, "Come, Follow Me,” April 2019 General Conference. President of the Church _____________________________________________ Russell M. Nelson President of the Church Mortal lifetime is barely a nanosecond compared with eternity. But what a crucial nanosecond it is! Consider carefully how it works: During this mortal life you get to choose which laws you are willing to obey-those of the celestial kingdom, or the terrestrial, or the telestial-and, therefore, in which kingdom of glory you will live forever. What a plan! It is a plan that completely honors your agency. Russell M. Nelson, Heart of the Matter: What 100 Years of Living Have Taught Me [2023], 45. _____________________________________________ Dallin H. Oaks First Counselor in the First Presidency The revealed doctrine of the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that all the children of God-with exceptions too limited to consider here-will ultimately inherit one of three kingdoms of glory, even the least of which “surpasses all understanding.” After a period in which the disobedient suffer for their sins, which suffering prepares them for what is to follow, all will be resurrected and proceed to the Final Judgment of the Lord Jesus Christ. There, our loving Savior, who, we are taught, “glorifies the Father, and saves all the works of his hands,” will send all the children of God to one of these kingdoms of glory according to the desires manifested through their choices. ... We know from modern revelation that “all kingdoms have a law given” and that the kingdom of glory we receive in the Final Judgment is determined by the laws we choose to follow in our mortal journey. Under that loving plan, there are multiple kingdoms-many mansions-so that all of God’s children will inherit a kingdom of glory whose laws they can comfortably “abide.” Dallin H. Oaks, "Kingdoms of Glory," Ensign or Liahona, Oct. 2023, 26-27. _____________________________________________ Russell M. and one more that I couldn't fit in the last comment: An understanding of God’s fabulous plan takes the mystery out of life and the uncertainty out of our future. It allows each of us to choose how we will live here on earth and where we will live forever. ... Mortality is a master class in learning to choose the things of greatest eternal import. Far too many people live as though this life is all there is. However, your choices today will determine three things: where you will live throughout all eternity, the kind of body with which you will be resurrected, and those with whom you will live forever. So, think celestial. In my first message as President of the Church, I encouraged you to begin with the end in mind. This means making the celestial kingdom your eternal goal and then carefully considering where each of your decisions while here on earth will place you in the next world. Russell M. Nelson, "Think Celestial!," October 2023 General Conference. President of the Church I hope that helps! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

As I understand it, Baptism by one who has authority is the minimum requirement to enter the Celestial kingdom. Then a person has to be given the gift of the Holy Ghost. After that comes Initiatory & Endowment. These can be done vicariously for dead people. To bear spirit children (eternal increase), after previous ordinances are done, a couple has to be sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise and have to be sealed on Earth (or vicariously, if dead) in the House of the Lord.

So what is the purpose of the terrestrial and telestial kingdom then? If they’re not going to be procreating then what are they going to be doing? Will they be advancing or learning or just existing? Seems kind of like the Christians believe as far as there won’t be any marriage in heaven. If you’re in those kingdoms, then there won’t be so they’re not all wrong on that. They just don’t know that there could be more.

It seems to me, based on the Proclamation on the family, that gender is an eternal aspect of our souls. It's the ability to be a sexual being and procreate is aspect that's gone in the terrestrial and telestial kingdoms (outer darkness as well)

Maybe we will all be seen as beautiful - because we will be looking with opened resurrected and perfected eyes and hopefully we will have allowed Jesus Christ to change our hearts by then. Our physical trials can take a lot out of us and cause health damage that can deform our bodies - But Jesus Christ doesn’t judge us to be ugly even in those times - because He can See us. He doesn’t say someone with a small nose is more beautiful than someone with a large nose. Remember He chose David over the brothers who looked more like what even the prophet Samuel thought a king should look like. My body used to look much more “beautiful” than what it looks like now. Even after more than 20 years working with doctors and having lots of tests - I still have people judge that I am just fat and if I would change my diet and exercise I could lose weight and feel better. - I used to think that if they had to walk in my shoes for just 1 month … but I would never wish these things upon anyone - even though some days are almost overwhelming like today - I know that my Savior Sees and understands what others do not - and for now - even what I do not understand about myself. I believe we will be exactly how he made our bodies to be with all the beautiful different varieties of features and healed from all physical illness and earthly problems - but it will still be up to us to let go of the things we have been taught that do not line up with His teachings, and how we are to see one another and ourselves. That starts with learning how to See Him.

Father will not withhold any blessings from us if we remain worthy, that includes a happy forever after with a sweetheart. So what I have to say is why not!?! We are so closed off in our linear thinking. So Why Not??? Thank you for sharing!

I honestly think there are mechanisms and concepts we don't understand. We are always progressing every part of us is progressing and this is the whole concept of our existence. It does not make sense that we would stop progressing regardless of the Kingdom we are in. However if we were taught that there were other chances I think that no one would really try. I think that while yes it's likely that whatever body and Kingdom we are assigned would not change, the "scoring" of us to get to said Kingdom may have a lot of components to it that we don't understand including spirit world Acts as well as things we do in the millennium. I do not believe that our eternal play in the universe centers around a 60 to 80 years slice of time. Also what's the point of the atonement then if the end result isn't Celestial Glory so where does that fit in, where is the 11th Hour Vineyard workers ? I have heard plenty of stories including folks in the church that have died in their sins and have visited their family and explained they were forgiven and that time doesn't work beyond the veil that we are used to . I will put this in the mercy of the Lord's hands and try my best and honestly I think that's the best that we can expect

Your comments about seeing people as ugly and then pretty made me think about how “Thinking Celestial” can help us to not judge so quickly. When we find our thoughts are more on the telestial or terrestrial side we can stop ourselves and reevaluate why we thought that way. We can repent and change ourselves for the better. I’ve been working on this in my life and find if I’m thinking about someone who walks by me who is different than what I consider normal my thought begins with “How come she/he”…? or “ Why did they…?” I’m learning to stop myself and remember to repent of judging others for even the smallest things. It requires work. But if Heavenly Father loves them no matter what they look like so should I. Your heart begins to change

Hi! I already have in a few different videos but here are the quotes if you need to copy them down and share with others (sorry, not all of these are in my updated format, so excuse the inconsistency in format): NO PROGRESSION FROM KINGDOM TO KINGDOM NO ADVANCEMENT FROM LOWER TO HIGHER. It has been asked if it is possible for one who inherits the telestial glory to advance in time to the celestial glory? The answer to this question is, No! The scriptures are clear on this point. Speaking of those who go to the telestial kingdom, the revelation says: ""And they shall be servants of the Most High; but where God and Christ dwell they cannot come, worlds without end."" Notwithstanding this statement, those who do not comprehend the word of the Lord argue that while this is true, that they cannot go where God is ""worlds without end,"" yet in time they will get where God was, but he will have gone on to other heights. That means that they become gods, have exaltation, gain the fulness of the Father, and receive a continuation of the ""seeds forever."" The Lord, however, has said that these blessings, which are celestial blessings, they may never have; they are barred forever! In section 131, the Lord has said, through the Prophet Joseph Smith: ""In the celestial glory there are three heavens or degrees; And in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood [meaning the new and everlasting covenant of marriage]; And if he does not, he cannot obtain it. He may enter into the other, but that is the end of his kingdom; he cannot have an increase."" So, we see, even in the celestial, some are barred and cannot go on to exaltation. Further light is thrown on this in section 132: ""For these angels did not abide my law; therefore, they cannot be enlarged, but remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity, and from henceforth are not gods, but are angels of God forever and ever."" These angels, spoken of here, include those who enter the celestial kingdom but do not gain the highest glory in that kingdom. ""This is eternal lives - to know the only wise and true God, and Jesus Christ, whom he hath sent. I am he. Receive ye, therefore, my law. Broad is the gate, and wide the way that leadeth to the deaths; and many there are that go in thereat, because they receive me not, neither do they abide in my law."" Now, if a man is deprived of the ""continuation of the lives"" for ever -- and not to have these blessings is referred to as leading to the deaths, or the lack of the continuation of the lives, or increase - then he cannot ""worlds without end"" reach the celestial glory; for the celestial glory is ""the continuation of the lives"" or increase eternally; it is to be gods, even the sons of God. ____________________________________________________________ Dallin H. ____________________________________________________________ Russell M. Probation continues until the end of the Spirit World for all those who did not overcome the world in the flesh by receiving all the ordinances, repenting frequently as needed, and enduring faithfully to the end. Where there is probation, there is progress. Why, otherwise, would we bother to do any work for the dead? And what ordinances are we performing for the dead in temples? Celestial ordinances. All of them are Celestial ordinances from baptism to marriage. So if we even just think about it a little, OF COURSE there is progression after this life, and a whole lot of it. Not an excuse to put off repentance though. We need to overcome the world and make good use of our time while mortal. Otherwise, we come under Satan’s power in the spirit world AND in this world. Not pleasant. I found a quote about 30 years ago from Joseph Smith. Maybe it was in the earlier editions of Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, but not in later editions? Anyway, I can’t find it now. Still looking. But Joseph taught that probation continues through the end of the Spirit World.

I think the confusion arises with the difference between still being in a state of probation (still being in the Spirit World) and after having gone through final judgement and assigned to a kingdom. Final judgement (final resurrection) is final. No progression after that. But TONS OF PROGRESSION in the Spirit World. Wilford Woodruff said that nearly all, if not all people in the Spirit World would receive temple ordinances performed vicariously for them. And we are going to spend the Millennium performing those ordinances. Day and night. in the April 1894 general conference of the Church, President Wilford Woodruff stated: “There will be very few, if any, [in the spirit world] who will not accept the gospel.” Stuy, Collected Discourses 4:74 And what level are those ordinances? Celestial. This means that MOST who end up in Spirit PRISON are going to be taught the Gospel, receive the ordinances performed vicariously in Mortality. And end up in the CELESTIAL kingdom. Just let all of us who know about the Gospel be the TEACHERS in the Spirit World, and not the ones handed over to the buffetings of Satan until the day of redemption! D&C 132:26

When it comes to resurrection, and bodies coming out of their graves, do we have any knowledge of how that works for cremated bodies?

Endowed members are dressed in the Robes of the Holy Priesthood before cremation. My husband was cremated & some brethren from our Ward dressed him. I'm not sure why a wife couldn't do that for her husband, but that's how it's done.

Could the 'asexual beings' as your friend stated be the case for those not in the celestial kingdom? Just a random thought. If I don't make the celestial kingdom I wonder if I would prefer that instead of being forever single and unhappy...but maybe that is the point?

I wonder then, if those in a terrestrial state will be able to progress to a celestial state in the millennium

Well, all the commandment keeping people who are now living in a Telestial state are about to cross to the Terrestrial. (When the Earth is cleansed) So, makes sense that the Terrestrials will do the same (after the season given to Satan at the end of the Millennium) when the Earth becomes Celestial.

Yes. This mortal/probationary period of Earth's existence doesn't end until the Earth is celestialized after the Millennium. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
