Best of luck with your military service. We will eagerly waiting for a return! I suppose you won’t be able to record videos while you’re in the military?
This is like the anime soundtrack of a student who leaves his family and friends because he's forced to join the military. I imagine this suite as covering his journey of struggling and struggling but finally reaching the stars and conquering the world beating every challenge he faces.
... this suite is fkin amazing. you managed to have me listening to this entire suite in one sitting from the very first second. the beginning is captivating, the middle pieces captures their titles very well and sustains interest epicly, and that final piece is.. just overflowing with emotions (especially the parts in 22:10, new theme in 25:02, and the climatic moment in 26:22... there are too many amazing moments in final that piece aaaaaa). i also love that you reused the themes from "beginning" and bits of others in "new beginning," which wraps up this suite beautifully. overall, i think is is one of the most melodic, emotional, and passionate piano suites i have ever heard, and that's no exaggeration. this piece is certainly an amazing sendoff. best of luck with your military service, and i hope you will return safely.
28 minutes!?!!?? This is too good!! Edit: I just finished and this is one of the most finely composed, most emotional suites for piano I have ever heard... I'm really moved... Thank you Seonyong for all your amazing performances and compositions!
It’s sounds so romantic, but influenced by modern anime music.. Especially the Finale.. probably the best piano suite i have listened to in my life, and that’s not even an exaggeration.
first impressions after listening briefly to every movement: overall, imaginative themes and colours (V. Images)! VI. Despair sounds like a blend of Chopin Prélude Op. 28 No. 4 and the Mozart D minor Fantasia K. 397
YOOOOOOO, THIS SHIT IS FIRE. I haven't heard the entire piece yet, but i felt compelled to comment because the beginning sounds SOOOO GOOOOD. I'm a huge anime fan and it reminds me of that alot
Breathtaking.. probably my favorite piano suite of all time, surpassing Godowsky’s Java Suite. I could not stop listening… The amount of moments i could nearly cry were uncountable.. and at the climax of “new beginning”, i cried for the first time in 3 years.. it’s amazing.. all of it..
@@seonyonghwang I’m guessing your military training starts around now. I wish you a safe and pleasant journey for the next 1 1/2 years! Good luck and O7!
[Translator's Comment] For mens in Korea, military service is inevitable (except for someone having serious health/mental issues), so... It's time to say goodbye to Seonyong Hwang for eighteen months. Despite this quite depressing news, we're so honored to have an opportunity to enjoy this large and amazing piece. I feel so delightful to be one of dedicatees of him - the third movement "Consolation" was dedicated by me. There is a short back story of it. I had a really hard time after being dropped out of military six months ago due to certain medical issue (I cannot expose the symptom directly, though...). Seonyong's words of comfort did help me to overcome the mental wound, and now I feel better than before. Then, he remarked that he was so grateful for my translation of the description since last year, and he decided to write this in respond. Thank you Seonyong again, and we will never forget your music. We will miss you, and hope you to succesfully finish the eighteen-month mandatory military service without any injuries. Goodbye...!
Thank you for all your music; there are very few who have reached your level of both virtuosity and compositional understanding. I wish you the best of luck in your military training and hope you can return to the piano :)
Best case scenario: On the first day, the general or whoever's in charge realizes that they're looking at Seon-Yong Hwang and decides "Hey, isn't this the pianist who plays amazingly well? We can't let him get hurt." and sends Seon-Yong Hwang back home.
This is now one of my favorite contemporary pieces The only thing I wish was if each movement sort of flowed into each other But that is picky of me when this is so good
Imainge performing this entire amazing original and forgot to press record. I missed Mr. so talented Seon-Yeon Huang. Sincerely: Your cat loving fan or Sorabji.
Do you watch anime? Some of the parts in this piece seem very inspired by anime songs and it seriously sounds amazing, I love this entire composition and I want to one day to be even a bit close to being as good as you
I hope that someday, I will be able to convey such emotion through simple notes, rhythm, and dynamics put together in harmony with one another. Im only 13 now, but maybe in a few years I can get closer to being as good a player and composer as you!
Wow, really impressive and beautiful ! A mix between classical and anime XD I hope to see more pieces like this ! (for exemple, I always loved the Gunbuster Fantasy of Yui Morishita, in my opinion another mix between anime and classical music) By the way, the end looks a lot like the huge end of The Great Gate Of Kiev ! Bravo !
Repent and trust in Jesus. Hes the only way. We deserve Hell because weve sinned. Lied, lusted stolen, etc. But God sent his son to die on the cross and rise out of the grave. We can receive forgiveness from Jesus. Repent and put your trust in him. John 3:16 Romans 3:23❤😊❤❤
I am very surprised you heart every single comment even after getting so many. Please take care of your hands during the service, we don't want to lose you! Maybe in March 2023 I can also play Mereaux ? You inspire me :)
I'm from Singapore and have to serve mandatory military service as well. You really inspire me to continue practicing piano when ever I can while in service :)
As a listener to classical music for more than 40 years, all I can say is I love these pieces! The sound is a little like early Debussy with an early 21st century twist. Way to go!
