I have been to over 20 countries in my life, and seoul is the most safest city ever. I left my bag and notebook at the starbucks in seoul, and came back 30 minutes later and it is there with no one touching it. If it was some other country, it probably got lost. You can walk around after midnight very safely.

My grandfather was shot in the Korean war, he survived. I believe he would have been proud of the people of South Korea for what they have made of their country, they are a great and respectable people.
You have to get out of the fantasy about Seoul. Seoul has a very narrow land. And there is a large population, high housing costs, and food, goods prices is high. Those who want to come to Korea must refer to it.

You should probably travel more. Korea has no soul and spends more time putting cameras in your hotel room and dangerously packing nightclubs full of people than actually trying to preserve its own culture.

Not saying Korea is always good because I Korean, but you should compare what you said with other countries. No country is perfect and no countries have only good sides so you should view those negetive aspects in a comparartive view with other countries.
They are not into foreign people either. Descrimination with gender, sexual orientation, race, skin color etc are common among them. I love their dramas but not their entire culture.

I studied in Seoul a year ago and it was the best semester of my life. Everyone was so kind, the food was delicious, the city was clean and safe and there is so much to do, visit, discover. Cute cafes, awesome bars and nightclubs. Watching this video made me feel so nostalgic hahaha. It's my goal to come back to this fantastic country!

I was born in Seoul, although I am American of European decent. I served in Korea when I was a young man in the American Army, 2 Infantry Division, 1986, on the DMZ, north of Imjin River, I loved the Korean people, great people, can't believe how much it has changed from even the 80s. I will visit again some day soon I hope.

Lets face it, America ignited early Japanese imperialism and approved it during the early stages which crushed any Korean dream of pan Asianism to fight against western imperialism. America even invaded Korea themselves and killed/looted their way through the "bully Asia" campaign which ultimately led Japan to radicalize. The U.S. keeps funding terrorism against themselves for some odd reason, they even almost accidentally funded a second Hitler in South Korea named "Park Chung Hee" when relations between the R.O.K and U.S. were at a all time low. Then after WWII, they failed to root out pro Japanese fascists in Korea and Japanese war criminals in Japan because they were anti communist and useful puppets in the cold war. The USSR and the U.S. divided Korea up like some spoils of war and started a war that killed millions of Koreans over some foreign ideologies. Then the U.S. wants us to be grateful because they "saved us" when in reality, they just wanted to expand their influence in Asia because I'm sure America is a very charitable nation. America did it out of their national interest like any other nation would so asking us to be thankful at this point is some sort of beginning to an abusive relationship. Korea had incompetant leaders but most of our troubles came from our geographical position, allowing us to be exploited to such degree. Also while I'm at it, most people have this strange misconception that South Korea's economic success was thanks to American aid and money which couldn't be further from the truth. So many poor third world countries rely on America aid yet they are still spinning their webs in poverty. Either way, may not sound like it but I'm pro U.S. I hope America can relax and we can create and shape a new future together but do not believe every Korean thinks that the U.S. is their "god given saviour".
Reality is different from dream. South Korea is poor country. Only Seoul is developed. So the rest of the cities are very low-level. Moreover, There are also many poor places in Seoul.

I`m a American residing in Japan for the past 25 years and my favorite place to visit is Korea. My wife loves Korea as much as I do and in average, we travel to Korea 4 times a year. I can relate to a lot of the places featured in your video. The last time I was in Korea was in Sept. 2018 but after seeing your video, it made me want to visit Korea, again.....checking for tickets now.

No place is 100% safe, including Korea, but from my past experience, yes, I think you should be okay with your "bags/backpacks" on your back. I have done it but I usually don't carry valuable items in my backpack. I keep my wallet and smartphone in my pockets.

I remember when I visited Seoul, I was in gangnam-gu district walking down a street, and there was water falling out above of a building onto the walkway. Of course I could’ve easily walked around but there was an old Korean man standing there with his umbrella and he ushered me across the walkway lol. You never forget the small acts of kindness

Dont just watch it on youtube, visit it, live it, feel it, love it. The food, its districts, its culture, history and incredibly helpful and polite people. My son was to work in Seoul for 12 months, ended up staying for four years and married the sweetest Korean girl. By the way, Gangnam is pronounced KANG-NAM, just like Jamsil is pronounced YAM-SIL! My grandfather was just 23 when he went missing NK on 2.4.52 Outpost Kelly W of Imjin river and N of Seoul at least 90km. This video has shown me why he died. What his sacrifice was for and to ultimately be proud of him(Joseph Chee) he helped defend freedom by fighting the Chinese troops and ultimately being wounded and captured by them, they never returned him. But I can now see why it happened and what purpose his sacrifice served. It was not in vain, if he died to help secure this I say it was worth it. I know he would say Korea is worth dying for I love this country and it's people so much. I am so proud of him and and this video reinforces my belief that he is a hero.he fought for Freedom I am also proud of ROK, a *great ally* to USA . Lastly, We go together. forever!! I was there two years ago for my daughter's traditional Korean wedding. I learned a lot about their history, culture, food ❤️, and a few words. Visited many places...very busy place, twice as much as NYC.. but cleaner and friendlier. I brought back to the USA, a love for their food, especially kimchi. In fact, I'm making some this week and a few others Korean dishes. You'll never know what you'll like ...until you try it. That's on any adventure.
South Korea really has modernized way too fast and now doesnt have much of a soul. Try Vietnam instead or Cambodia. Korea sold its soul for a quick dollar.

Seoul really is a world class city! They've done so much to improve the city. When I arrived in Korea, 20 years ago, I wasn't really impressed. Seoul has to be one of the best cities I've visited. So much to see & do. Easy to get around, clean, safe & fun! I highly recommend visiting it & I'll definitely return soon! I stayed in Hongdae :)

I visited seoul last september 2017 and i agree everything you said..what i appreciate was koreans are very kind, despite the language barrier they are willing to guide the foreigners..it is very clean and safe..i want to go back 💜

These streets are wide and spacious. They look very calm and there's less traffic too. I also noticed that those vehicles are travelling at a low speed. This is so much different from India. Love to visit Seoul one day❤

SOUTH KOREA is an extrardinary and excellent country in the entire world I have ever known there are the most facilities in cities in South Korea for students and visitors from other countries..
Seoul makes New York look like a dangerous sleepy, dirty, boring, old city. Seoul is open 24 hours. Plenty of cafes, shops, restaurants still open 4 o'clock in the evening and still very safe. Infrastructure is very advanced, great clean transportation system. 5g internet and free WIFI everywhere. Don't forget Busan. Beautiful port city famous for its beaches.
Every of the four Asian Tigers, Japan's and first-tier East Asian cities (Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzen, Kuala Lampur, etc.) make NYC looks like a deteriorating, crime-ridden dystopia... I have been to quite some places and that distinctive piss smell of New York's subway stations still haunts me to this day.
