We move over to Hongdae and check into the newer and really nice RYSE Hotel by Hongik Station. The hotel is incredibly nice and conveniently located in the center of all the fun places to walk in Hongdae.
ALL YOU CAN EAT BIBIMBAP! That's right, geared towards college students Bibili in Hongdae has wifi, a buffet style make your own bibimbap layout and free ramyeon cups. So you can just eat for hours and do your research until you can't eat anymore.
There are tons of cafes in Seoul with Hongdae having some really cool cafes. We stopped by Kaffee 345 since they advertised pour over coffee and seemed like a convenient place to chill.
Hongdae Shopping Street where a lot of the K Pop Cover Dance groups perform is really cool. We ended up walking down until we found a an arcade called "Funnyland" to kill some time with the kid.
The Line Friends store in Hongdae boasts two floors of merch and there were a lot of BTS everything to buy. There were cool New Jeans installations there as well. There's a cafe on the basement floor named "Miikflo" with a lot of room for people to hang out.
Some of the most amazing kalguksu and bossam we've ever had was also here in Hongdae at Duriban. The couple working were super nice and very accomodating. They have their own craft beer for their shop as well. The ahjussi working helped our son put his coat and scarf on as if he was his own grandkid!
I end up visiting the rooftop bar/club Side Note Club at our hotel and the place is really nice. Unfortunately I didn't get to catch a live DJ as they only book them on Fri/Sat but their hip hop playlist is top notch. Everything from underground hip hop to 90's hip hop rocked their playlist. If anyone has booking connects with this hotel let me know as I would love to spin here when I return to Seoul.
