In case anyone doesnt already understand, the lifestream was foretold to showcase possible eventualities of choices by people in the ps1 version of the series. It is the collective thought of everyone and everything that exists. Its only now being explored to go beyond after the original timelines conclusion. People forgot remake is a sequel to the original. Not sure how we forget such an important point but here we are..

The scene where Aerith pushes Cloud and you see Sephiroth slowly entering the church is one of my favorite scenes in the game, holy shit. It said so much with so little; Sephiroth is an absolute menace in every timeline, and Aerith is tragic in every timeline. Unless the theories are true in that Cloud created a timeline where Aerith doesn't die when he hit Sephiroth's sword... Sephiroth killing Aerith is truly a canon event.

To the people claiming "oh this is just Kingdom Hearts now", Final Fantasy has dabbled into alternate timelines as early as day one with the original Final Fantasy, and I'm not referring to Stranger of Paradise. Timelines were also a plot point in FFVIII. You even played as characters from the past

I mean....we don't know what could have happened to Cloud when he went through the Mako back in the original. The idea of multiverses was too much for that Cloud. Iterations could have had different outcomes. The idea that mako energy is what combines the worlds in a multiverse makes sense. People are just upset that it looks like FF7 is just jumping on the bandwagon of multiverse stuff.

I finally get it, OG FF7 wasnt even the original timeline, the original timeline was zack surviving and midgar destroyed by meteor, this is why clouds behavior was already so weird in OG, not really jenovas cells, we was already pushed around by whispers.

So, basic translation. Because we defied destiny and the whisper harbinger was destroyed, more new worlds and timelines were created. Some die faster than others for various reasons. But all are united by the life stream. Sephiroth seeks to merge these other worlds together in the ‘reunion’ to create his ideal world where he will not end.

Sephiroth been putting the bug in Clouds ear about defying destiny, what is he gonna do with 7 seconds (amount of time it takes for him to kill Aerith), and had them fight the Arbiter of Fate, so that new worlds can be created due to boundaries of fate being breached. He then wants these worlds to reunite, and the true purpose of that we will know in part 3. I also think these worlds are in Clouds head, and Aerith has access to them. Lastly, the blessing that Sephiroth gave him before he got to the sleeping forest was the black materia he has in his pocket at the end

The multiverse concept is the absolute worst thing you can do to a game 🤦‍♂️

It’s so bizarre how the remake trilogy is trying to incorporate multiverse stuff and Sephiroth trying to undo his loss from the OG, but events have been mostly the same. Now that the story followed the hardest part (Aerith’s death), part 3 can really go wild. Especially since they had stuff from part 3 in this game like Tifa in the livestream and Cloud remembering Zach. I’m talking about total convergence. Hope you’re ready for Gackt and Angeal to save the day while you fight Matt and Lucia-Sephiroth clones from the mobile game.

All in all it does make sense that they are all in someway connected, much like a good majority of the FF has a cid, a chocobo omega weapon how even that being has clouds ultimate weapon in ff8, so its safe to assume that FF is a multiverse but no one is aware of that (except for sephiroth) of course the more ya know the more miserable ya are inside, guess that makes that silver fox the most dangerous being in the series, especially since he never stays dead

I'm not a dan of all the timeline, multiverse shenanigans of the Remake trilogy's story but I was at least hoping that, if they were leaning so hard into this, they would show original PS1 footage of FFVII

Just a reminder: Nomura didn’t want multiverse Shenanigans in the remake and wanted to be faithful to the original game. That’s right. The biggest laughing stock in gaming history was going to make a FAITHFUL remake but since you guys hated his ass we’re getting a fucking multiverse story in ff7.

Funny how they use multiple world theories in the same mannerism as FF14 too. Especially when he said the 'planet' contains many worlds and they all tie back into one. Just like FF14's the "Source" and the 13 reflections.

What Sephiroth described is not a multiverse. Is anyone actually looking at what he's saying? The planet is hosting different worlds & each one is in an end of the world scenario with characters like Zack & Biggs feeling no passage of time (back when they brought up their internal clocks being messed up). Aerith even called it a dream when she went on that date with Cloud in chapter 14. This isn't real. It's all built in the lifestream. Zack & Biggs aren't even sure how they survived much like how you can't remember where a dream starts or ends because you feel no passage of time when asleep. In reality, both are still dead, including Aerith. A multiverse is a hypothetical set of universes that make up everything that exists. Destiny in this world is described as the will of the planet itself, not the greater cosmos, and by defying the planet's will, it started a chain reaction of hosting different worlds within the lifestream that eventually fade away & reunite as one. The Fate series uses the same concept in the Extra works with the moon cell hosting an infinite number of worlds. Even the world's dying part is a concept used there.
