This might be a "grew up in the US" thing, but I have ALL the Anne books and read them all MANY times 😂 The last one, Rilla of Ingleside, is almost like a full-circle moment because Rilla, as Anne's youngest daughter, is so much like Anne (but that one is a sad book, because the end of the story overlaps with WWI, so reality intrudes on the story of this family on little PEI)

It's funny I'm canadain born and raised yet I have never read the Anne books lol

I am from Canada and the Anna of Green Gables. Was and still is part of the school curriculum. And it is based off of a true story. It’s one of the books that we had to read as a young student.

I love Anne of Green Gables. I think it makes me nostalgic for childhood and how much wonder the world could hold when you're still a new person learning and growing up. I really want to read pachinko and journey to the center of the earth now

Your spreads are lovely and balanced visually. Anne of Green Gables was published as a children's book and is one of the favorite YA novels. It's in the public domain so has been published and adapted widely. Your guote is missing an "a" before laugh. "Life is worth living as long as there's a laugh in it."

Tried to read Anne of Green Gables as a kid and hated it. Went back to it around 35 and I was blown away. The whole cycle felt like it was way too short. I just love how the author mastered writting about everyday life - the normal and plain feels like something extraordinary. Miss that in contemporary literature.

Just watching this. I watched the films as a child. Just picked up the first book so will see what I make of it.

Thank you for your beautifully inspiring reading journal spreads! I listened to the audiobook of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley in honor of the "Spooky" month October theme and it was so wonderful! It was a difficult read as the old English was beyond my realm of understanding at times but it was a joy to listen to. It was tragic and heartfelt it a way I never expected. I enjoy the occasional "ghost story" but I am not a horror fan. Thanks again! Love your work :)

One of my all time favorite books is The Blue Castle by LM Montgomery - it is so so so good and of course I also love her Anne and Emily series books.

The Pachinko discussion makes me think about my parents, who are Japanese immigrants and how I've seen them both unlearn the Japanese propaganda they grew up with regarding both Korea and China. And while the xenophobia in China is lingering a bit more (mostly bc of anti-Chinese sentiment in the US) it's been really good to see them understand that the Japan that they were taught in school as children wasn't as flawless as they were led to believe. Tbh there's still a lot of unlearning to be done with them (and myself who grew up with that kind of influence) but seeing them understand that they're being xenophobic towards a country is good to see.

So I'm an East Coast Canadian and while I can't speak for central or western Canada, The East Coast LOVES Anne. I grew up with the live action tv series, the books, the animated cartoons, etc. I'm happy you at least gave Anne a try~

Hahaha well I can’t really avoid spoilers in the spread, it’s for my own use after all😂 And to be fair, my Norwegian audience is tiny, so I figure it’s pretty safe for most people haha😆

I read Anne of Green Gables and Journey to the Center of the Earth both this year. It's so fun to see you do a spread for something I've read recently. I'm an avid reader of classic literature. Frankenstein and Dracula are my go to horror reads in October. It's funny how few people know them only from movies and don't realize how very different the books are! Thanks for another great video. Enjoy the rest of your time in SLC.

Oh what a coincidence that we’ve been reading the same books, that’s fun🥰 I love Bram Stoker’s Dracula, but I have yet to read Frankenstein. I might have to add it to my October reads!

Jeg skal selv læse “we have always lived in the castle” “no one gets out alive” Og “the last house on needless street”. Forhåbentlig også nogle hekse bøger, den ene jeg har læst indtil videre hedder “the witch’s daughter” den kan jeg godt anbefale 😍🎃👻

I remember loving Anne of Green Gables when I was growing up. I revisited it as an adult in audiobook form, and it didn’t stray too far from my childhood memories. I also remember watching the movie on PBS in the US as a young kid and just loving Anne.

I love how spread looks so different from one another!!! The execution of the themes you pick is impeccable!!! I loved the black and white one, and the October cover page!! Also, I read Journey to the center of the Earth a lot of years ago, maybe as a teenager... I don't remember anything about it though 🤣 That's why I've consider making a reading journal, because I've read so many books that I sometimes forget about them 😅

I absolutely love your spreads, and the October cover page is by far my favourite! I actually also read "Journey to the centre of the earth" in September, and I really enjoyed it. I read "20 000 leagues under the sea" first tho, and I actually thought it was better than "Journey to the centre of the earth", and I really think you should read it (it is also in the plus catalogue on Audible 😉) Love from a fellow Norwegian book and bujo fanatic🥰
