It's a pain in the bum at the minute. Last night I was coming from Cobham wanting to get on the M25 towards Heathrow but hadn't realised they had closed off the junction from the A3 to join the M25. Had to go down the A3 to Ripley to turn round then couldn't get off at either M25 junction or at the Painshill roundabout and had to drive up the A3 to the A244 turning and then back down until I could get off from the south side A3 at Painshill. Finally got off the A3 and went back through Byfleet and Addlestone to join M25 at J11. What a bloody brainless balls up.

Came back through this last week M25CW to A3S. What surprised me was that the new slip roads sit higher up than the old ones so give a better gradient to the junction

Finally making sense of it now. Often here doing the occasional Heathrow run and it can be a total nightmare 😂

I used this junction today, came out of wisley Lane and took nearly 30 mins to get to the m25 junction, so we could do a 360 to come south on A3. What a disaster area this junction is, and the new design will do nothing to improve it. You will still have all the traffic queuing to turn right in all directions, and so the new junction will be a bigger replica of what's already there. The wisley entry/exit bridge will also just add to the traffic as if you come from the south or want to go south there are no slip roads on or off the A3 at Ripley junction A complete farce and waste of millions of pounds to get no improvement and cause chaos for 3 years while they change nothing. This is not the fault of the contractors but of the road architects who did not have the vision to do a full motorway junction and instead just made what is already there bigger. The only true improvements are the 2 cycle/pedestrian bridges that will allow people to cross the M25 on foot.

I watched these video's & yes I have come to the same conclusion,unless there are no traffic lights on the new roundabout this will become a bigger bottleneck.

Auto Shenanigans made a video about 5 months ago , this upgrade is costing 317 million pounds, and in ten years time it will have to be revamped again.

It will be massively over budget, 10 months late, and once open need upgrading to keep up with demand in traffic numbers. Why not stick in 8 lanes of beautiful M25 before Gatwick to the M40 and just be done with the whole thing!!
