For some, it's the lack of thrash. For others, it's the lack of Cavalera. And some folks just don't like Derrick as the voice. To all of them I say, you're not really listening and henceforth, are missing out as a result. Sep changed the game and will forever be remembered as a pioneer institution. Much respect.
Interesting list. I wasn’t really expecting a lot of the Derek Green era albums to be high on the list. I haven’t finished every Sepultura album as I’ve only heard everything up to Against which I didn’t like at all. Personally, Roots is my favorite Sepultura album followed by Arise, Beneath the Remains, Chaos AD, Schizophrenia, and Morbid Visions/Bestial Devastation.
Good list! Just a small correction, the vocal on Reza from Against is not Derrick, is João Gordo, vocalist of a brazillian punk band called Ratos de Porão, who is a close friend of the band since they started. Here is my list tho: 1 - Quadra 2 - Chaos AD 3 - Machine Messiah 4 - Kairos (honestly dont get why this album doesnt get more love) 5 - Arise 6 - The Mediator 7 - Beneath the Remains 8 - Dante XXI 9 - Roots (first half of the album is amazing, second half not so much) 10 - Schizophrenia 11 - Roorback 12 - Against 13 - Nation 14 - A-lex 15 - Morbid Visions (I know, sue me)
●1°CHAOS ●2° QUADRA 3°DANTE ● 4° KAIROS ●5°ARISE ●6° BENEATH ●7° AGAINST ● 8°MACHINE ●9°MEDIATOR ●10°ROORBACK ●11°REVOLUSONG ●12° NATION ●13°ROOTS ● 14°SCHIZOFRENIA ●15°NATION ●16° A-LEX THE ALBUMS THAT WERE LEFT OUT BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY BAD. THE LIST WAS MADE FOR SOUND AND NOT FOR IMPORTANCE.
my ranking of the max cavalera era: 1. Arise 2. Chaos A.D. 3. Beneath the remains 4. Schizophrenia 5. Morbid visions 6. Roots Yes, I hate roots, i am a huge korn fan, I love nu metal, but I hated roots.
Nu Metal wasn't even a thing back when Roots dropped. Never heard that label until at least '99/2000. I agree on the quality, tho. I don't hate it, but it was a bit of a mess. Beneath The Remains is my favorite and always has been.
I respectfully disagree, except with Chaos being the best. To me Against is better than it should be, Nation and Roorback they figured out that they can still make really really really good music without Max. From Dante (except Ostia, one of if not Sepultura's best songs) all the way to present, they forgot that they can make great music without max. I also don't think Roorback and Nation get the love they deserve. Personally though I would go. 1 Chaos AD 2 Roorback 3 Roots 4 Nation 5 Arise 6 Against 7 Schizophrenia 8 Beneath the Remains 9 Dante XIII 10 Morbid Vision 11 on, just toss in the rest in that big pile of my disappointment
@@ZeaTea I really loved roorback and nation, but to me, from Dante on it just felt like the music, even though a lot of it is fast, it just to me doesn't feel like it has any intensity. It might just be the natural progression of the band and their sound, because to be honest it's not a Max bandwagon thing because I haven't been a fan of the last 3 Soulfly albums either.
