To be never was logic compare Sepultura to Anthrax, Metallica, Exodus... for me Sepultura has something unique like Death, even the name “Sepultura” = Grave in portuguese.
I remember how pleased I was to see the inner leaflet of sepulturas second album, showing the guys in the band with a hand drawn death logo behind them. that respect goes a long way.
I like how people still refer to Derrick Green as the 'new Sepultura singer', he has been in the band for over 21 years! It's almost like AC/DC's Brian Johnson, who sang for that band longer than Bon Scott was even alive :D Not bad for the 'new guy' huh?
it's because ever since the new guy the music has sucked. Well actually it started a bit before the new guy arived, but basically it's entirely different era to this band. There was the godly Thrash era and then the rest

I've always been more into punk hardcore crust grindcore etc but in the late 80s my metal head mate got me into loads of this stuff & "Scream Bloody Gore" & "Leprosy" were two of my favourite albums. DEATH & SEPULTURA are both really fucking good bands. I'm 52 now & still listen to both.
Sounds really similar to the original...I think the drums sound a bit better but the vocals are too quiet, although some of the lyrics are easier to understand
They gave this a good shot. They have my respect even more. Loved Sepultura since I was 16, and Death since I was 20, and this is a good cover, all apart from the solo :s

This music is when the influencer is influenced by the influenced (a.k.a Death would inspire Sepultura several years later to make that music, even though Sepultura was the inspiration for Death).

@@deathlike_silence.0267 yes their guitar player Daniel Gonzalez is nothing but a copycat without an own identity. Gruesome is a death clone and what Jeff Becerra calls Possessed and where Dan is also involved is a clone of itself. Pathetic that people fall for this though.
