Let's look forward to the future and new innovations, I'm glad this synth can sound futuristic as well as retro.

The reason why I enjoy watching and listening to Daniel Fisher's videos is because of his synthesizer expert knowledge and practice. He teaches a wide range of fundamentals and aspects to all of us beginners, intermediate and advanced synth geeks, so we can move further into the synthesizer realm.

0:01 The standard warm sound has quite a lot in common with the Prophet-6 on first impression, including the resonance.

26:40 I always thought of the filter key tracking as useful for adjusting brightness across the keyboard but thanks for reminding me that it's really also to keep the quality of the timbres constant or variable.

Personally not interested in the Trigon (no use-case for me), but a video with Daniel in it is always pleasant to watch. You always pick up some new ideas.

One of THE best synth demos I've ever seen. Literally covered every feature, which is so helpful. Completely sold on this synth as a possible substitute for Moog Bass. The ONLY issue I have (aside from not having Sine as one of the oscillator waveform choices) is the minor "stepping" heard during the portion of the video when the filter is being demonstrated (once the resonance knob was adjusted upward)... Not a DEAL breaker for me (especially considering my playing style & my intended use), but I know some purists will absolutely HATE that lol. No expert on synth design here, but I'm assuming that's the tradeoff when you take an analog synth & combine it with some amount of digital circuitry.

Another great demo/review. As always, we learn as much about Synthesis, as we do about the Synthesiser itself. Keep up the magnificent work, much appreciated 😊

That extra-long glide had me smiling the whole time! Thanks for a fabulous demo and for sharing it! One question though: can the LFO amount be set individually for each destination? BTW, that manual filter sweep @23:32 showing crude stair-stepping on a polysynth in 2023 is unacceptable, especially on a synth at this price point.

Great work Daniel...as always. I was positive I would consider a second Prophet 6 or OB6 I could chain (to double my polyphony to 12) before I contemplated buying this. I'm now reconsidering.

Hmm, generally I’m a big fan of the continuously variable oscillators, such as on the p6, ob6, pro3, and modern moogs. But these oscillators do a lot. Still, if we are talking three Osc. per voice, why not have 1 continuous, two of these?
@johnniecristaldi
@johnniecristaldi Год назад
Great and thorough review of all features. This will really compliment my OB6. With midi, I should be able to combine for a 12 voice powerhouse?
@davebellamy4867
@davebellamy4867 3 месяца назад
I don't think you can poly chain them but you would still have 12 voices using them separately!😂

Prophet-6 and OB-6 go well together. I think this would go well with the OB6. On the Doctor Mix visit to Sequential, he played Prophet-6 and Trigon 6 together and they sounded a good combo, using a very mild lead sound on the P6, which is a very musical synth in my view. For 2 out of the 3, it would probably be the OB6 with either the T6 or P6 to cover most ground.
@jokumvildmoosehawkfield3176
I must say. This synth is a monster. By the way. Can you make some pre settings for a concert you should play.
@entropybentwhistle

All Sequential polysynths have empty preset slots for your own patches or rearranged performance presets so you can transition quickly through them.

Only 8,900 views in a year isn't that many for Dave Smith's last synth. Is the market slowing down?
@tommyg5095
@tommyg5095 3 месяца назад
I would say a resounding yes,,, The market has very much slowed. I had a little birdy tell me that in about a week, there will be something hitting the market, I truly do not know what it is, other than it is a synth, or synth related... I am curious to know what it is, and will be contacting my Sweetwater guy in a few days to see what may be on the horizon...

I seen it in Rub a Dub music in Glasgow. I was surprised at how small it looked. Way too expensive for me, so didn’t even bother going in for a try as I currently like having my kidneys!

Is the Trigon a memory Moog version?
@RayyMusik
@RayyMusik Год назад
On paper it may be a heir to the Memorymoog (which I had in the late 80s). However, even with the vintage knob at 100%, the T6 doesn‘t sound half as wonky as the MM. It just sounds too ‘modern‘ for my ears.
@entropybentwhistle
@entropybentwhistle Год назад
@@RayyMusik Could probably wonkify it into the ballpark with some offboard effect boxes like a ring-mod, fuzz, and other such bonch.

@@entropybentwhistle I‘d try a tape delay.
@FransvandenBergeMuziekschuur
@@SPAZZOID100 I was wondering. I do not really know much about the technical specs. I allways liked the memorymoog. I am not sure what the Trigon is all about. Alltho I watched several video's. Thank you for your hard work. It is appriciated.
@klaushimmelstein1527
@klaushimmelstein1527 Год назад
The tech specs sound similar, but the actual sound doesn't. The MM (still have one, never selling) is far more direct, naughty, "wonky" :). Nevertheless, the T6 has quite some interesting features the MM is lacking...

I notice he has the cutoff set to maximum for most of the demo so you're not hearing any filter, just raw oscillators.
