Serato DJ: Tips & Tricks 

COMMAND+Z IS LIFE MY DJ BROS!

Seriously after just purchasing a denon with serato and going through tons and I mean TONS of intro to serato videos THIS video right here just made everything a game changer!!!! Been using Traktor for years and used VDJ before that. The command keys being the same as using your browser is nice and the fact that you can select sort by BPM & Key blows my mind.

OMG..... Man, you have simplified and addressed many issues that I faced with maneuvering through my dj software. Thanks a lot.

2:27 You can also lock the deck, which imo is much more helpful than having to undo a mess that was already created. The deck unlocks when the song ends or when it is paused so there's really no down side given how you're supposed to load upcoming tracks on other decks regardless.

What is the shortcut for 'Crossfader' and for 'jumping from one to another deck' in software?

An addendum to the Prepare List: if you load a song from the prepare list, then change your mind, you don't have to find it in the library and re-add it. You can drag it from the deck back to the prepare list, then load a new song onto the deck. The old song will be back on the prep list.

I have the mixtrack pro 3, I downloaded the serato dj software trial...I dont see the analyse files option so I dont have the bpms listed on the different tracks

These is probably a n00b question, but the files in the Transition Automated crate, how do you use them? Do you load a transition-automated-track that starts with the currently playing track, switch over to the transition-automated-track by having it start playing exactly along side the currently playing track and do a transition via the volume fades (so people do not know you switched), load the song the transition-automated-track ends with and start playing it in sync with the transition-automated-track and then doing another transition with the volume fades? Or do you do it another way? I'm just starting and could use some help...

Is there an option in settings that I need to enable to organize my songs in both bpm and key? (windows user) Ive tried a variation of of commands, obviously ctrl-click.

Command - R. Find where the song is on your Hard Drive. Shift - (Z to >) . is for the samples (1 to 8)

Here a tip for going from Traktor to Serato or vice versa and and want to keep all your ID3 tags. Use rekord buddy. Works only for MAC users though
