I was not feeling well but I had to come on and make this video for people who can’t afford the latest technology and work with what you got it works for me. #serato #seratodjpro #seratodj #stems #macbookpro #dj #phasedj #pioneerdj
Good sound advice, this is the mistake I made when I started out djaying. I felt like I needed a MacBook or the latest not realizing iam hurting my pockets by not prioritizing and using what I have.
Ladies and gents, I have a 2012 mac pro with intel core i5. Stems works, but you will get lagging if you do it constantly. That's why they have the requirements of a 2017 or higher with a M1 or M2. The processor on those are higher and can handle doing it constant. If you are doing it once every 30 min then it should work. Your computer needs time to catch back up to normal speed.
Nope I use a 2012 mac book pro with windows 10 installed and stems works a charm every song with out using the stems crate too. I have 16gb ram in my mac book pro also.
Im Still using SL3 interface with Denon 3700 with no major problems with a Dell laptop / core I5 + 32gb Ram + windows 10 with no problems at all. The worst part was finding a decent midi mapp for thos denons.....but i did.....The latest Serato DJ Pro software has so hi minimum requirement system its insane !!!......its heavy....theres no need for this at all...its a money waste. Im running an older Serato DJ Pro version = 2.4 = light and stable !!
i have same spec MBP and dj on it for 5 hrs straight at a rooftop but my laptop sitting on 2 buckets of ice the whole time. it does work but sometimes gets a lag.
Not a silly question at all. Yes I am running Catalina. I just downloaded serato 3.0 that was it nothing else. On Saturday I should be making a video to show it working.
Sorry I have 15 inch 2014 i7 2.9 1tb sdd 16 gb on ram and every time I load a song on serato 3.0 it lags a lot and super hot so I keep serato 2.6.6 and just work fine
Hi I have not noticed. I will check but I am that guy if its working I am good. But I am planning to put in my lap top 4 tbt SSD so i dont have to worry about the stems file being weighty. Also I dont think I will be updating again unless something comes out that I want.
Awesome! I'm tossing up with downgrading set up to effort equipment. Good to know that 2012 laptop could do it! I was thinking about a Steam Deck (like previous comment). How much RAM In your laptop?
I Have 16gig ram everything maxed but I am looking to get a 4 TB SSD to put into the laptop for the stems. I have used it and I have not had no issues but I am not upgrading nothing. If its not broke dont fix it
over time the latop will phase out as the softwares getting more demand and updates for your mac will stop there only so much you can do to stretch it out bro.. ps i have that laptop and also a m1... old one like urs is i7 1tb ssd mega slow now espcially when analyze the tunes.... so just be warne you will need to replace that thing at some point and i get it peoples pockets are different.
@@sidey2003 lol that like saying you still got yout iphone 4 and its working lol. i get it bro i got two shed for or records its something i prefer ober controllers. my point technology changes eg 3g 4g 5g and 6g is coming... your laptop wont live forever infact happy to take nice bet if you like that your laptop will phase out over next year or so may be two. you already updated the to ssd now that mean you had to upgrade. not trolling or being funny get it your big time dj and have experience..much love
@@djavsdjavs I feel what you’re saying about eventually having to upgrade that laptop and you’re right you will have too for the newer controllers that come out probably 2024 & up maybe but what I do is I have dedicated lap tops for certain equipment like my two 2011 MacBook pros one 15” one 13” that have scratch live & the original serato dj software on them in case I feel like bringing out my Rane 57 or Rane 62 mixers then I have my 2012 13” Mac Pro I use with my RANE one now I’m about to get a 2015 15” Mac Pro to test out serato 3.0 and the stems feature just to see what it do eventually I’ll upgrade to a M1 but it the 2015 15” works good with day like a Rev 7 controller and my Rane one I’m set for a long time until I feel like I want something super newer that the beauty of tinkering with older computers if it ain’t broke don’t fix it right away it a lot of Dj’s that don’t need the newest of new equipment they just want something stable that works and gets the same job down ya know!
Yo Do a video where you are djing with it because I have the same computer and it don't work too good and I do have an 1tb ssd 16g ram an 5tb external hard drive
@@rlthomas check your laptop capability you can get the fastest ssd but if the laptop cant cope it will cap the ssd speed :-) but deffo go 2tb or 4tb...if the ram wasnt soildered on i would said upgrade ram but this where mac is pain in the butt
No way. You're video isn't proving that it's stable at all with STEMS. Right at the marker 1:20, you don't even have a track loaded on the deck to manipulate it with any hardware. Try again....put an effective video that shows you having physical control of the track playing and in internal mode.
