SERBIAN WEDDING DANCE FROM KOSOVO
Serbian people in Kosovo, in the vicinity of the town Gnjilane, which is located in the region of Kosovsko Pomoravlje, have since ancient times had a traditional sequence of songs and dances for the wedding ceremony. The characteristic initial dance is the dance of the mother-in-law who holds a sieve and bread in her hands which symbolize happiness and wealth. Female dances follow, then rough male dances and finally, the choreography ends with a jolly dance called 'Šliovački čačak'.
