Serena played some beautiful tennis at Wimbledon 2016. Served well, especially during key moments, and really struck the balance between defence and offence perfectly.
lol a 120 lbs player hasn't won a major since Martina Hingis in 1999. Maria Sharapova is 6'2.5" and at least 155 lbs. Venus is 6'1" and at least 160. I guess Henin was only 5'5.5" but even she says she weighed 126. This sport has never or will ever be dominated by anyone that weighs less than 145 lbs (even in Henin's best year of 2007 she shared 2 of 4 majors with the much stronger and heavier Williams sisters) Simona Halep has 2 majors and she weighs 132 lbs and has never "dominated". I don't know where that comment comes from. The more major titles the lady has, the more she weighs. The only athlete that has won four majors in a row, twice, is Serena, and she's a little bit heavier than 120 :))
Hi thank you so much for these videos! Do you think you could possibly post highlights of Serena’s first round match at the 2019 French Open vs Diatchenko? Thank you so much!!!
UNPOPULAR OPINION...but I feel Anastasia's game was better back when she was using the Babolat LITE racquet. I feel it allowed her to utilize her amazing racquet head speed but still controlling her power because the racquet was heavy. If you watch her back in 2010/2011...she wasn't hitting as many super hard/flat winners back then, but I feel she made less errors and it controlled her power better. That's why I feel she had a great 2011, her best GS year (11-4) up until last year when she made the RG final (Also 11-4 in slams that year). Just my personal opinion of course, I know very few pros play with the lite racquet versions, just Pavlyuchenkova back then, Radwanska, and Wozniak for a short period. But I feel it worked well with Pavlyuchenkova's game, and obviously Radwanska's as well.
Her multiple shoulder surgeries hindered arguably her biggest weapon.... and later needed cortisone shots before matches. I agree the line is faulty but let’s not get ridiculous.... cancer as awful as it is doesn’t effect the functionality of serve or ground strokes... what a stupid comment to make.
@@jameshampton5659, bull. Coming back from cancer is a big deal. Conditioning, strength, endurance. And, they do not push it your face like they whined about her shoulder. Pitchers with Tommy John surgery come back and are very effective. Called adjustments. What a stupid comment.
Stephanie Fagan her injury was legit and plagued her for the entirety of her career. Her career WAS making adjustments, first surgery was in ‘08. She changed her motion a bit. But she left the game because it was a distraction. And I think it’s in poor taste to draw a comparison to cancer. Anything looks small compared to cancer. That’s why it’s a stupid comment- it doesn’t make her injury any less legit. And it’s also stupid to compare a tennis player to a pitcher. Pitchers don’t pitch 10 out of 12 months of the year for ~15 years. They also don’t play 2 + hour games the whole way through. They also have relief pitchers. Your comparisons suck.
Stephanie Fagan her fans tend to get delusional and attribute it to everything. It isn’t the reason for all of her failures. But it’s also not stupid to point out she had a chronic shoulder injury. I’d say it’s somewhat noteable and held her back a bit.
This was a very high quality match. If Serena hadn't brought her A game, this match could have been very unpredictable. I was very happy she won this slam.
