I completely understand why Serena hasn't brought this type of tennis to her last four GS finals - she's invariably nervous, bearing the weight of history, and putting enormous pressure on herself to win. And she simply hasn't played anywhere near her best as a result. (And her opponents and critics know it.) Serena doesn't need to prove anything to anyone anymore - she's THE GOAT. Margaret Court's record is a joke in comparison (Court won 11 of her 24 'Grand Slams' in Australia when it was a local tournament with little-to-no international competition!!!). The only valid comparison to Serena's record is that of the other magnificent, extraordinarily brilliant player, Steffi Graf. And Serena has surpassed Steffi's record ... So she should play at these GS finals with free abandon and win her 24th, 25th, etc. GSs. Easy for me to say of course, but it appears nerves, pressure, tension and expectation has handed her last four opponents easy wins ... I really hope that she matches Court's joke 'record' and surpasses it. But even if that never eventuates, Serena is the GOAT and nobody can ever take that away.
Correct on all counts. I think she is also putting extra pressure on herself because she really wants to win a slam as a mother. She's gotten so much more famous and popular in the last few years that she can't escape the pressure.
you are 100% correct in everything you just said i think she will be better prepared the next time she put herself in that situation I mean the game is there the key for me is how well shes serving because that's the key to getting number 24 if her serving is going no doubt she will be tough to beat and also those first few games will tell a sign weather shes going to win the match or not but we shall see but theres no reason why she cant match and break that record hopefully at Wimbledon or Australia I mean she won those events 7 times a piece but the serve gotta be clicking if its not the same result going to happen serena gotta go out there with nothing to lose she gotta get back to mopping the floor with these newbies she has so much experience in those situations .
@@Tpainlilbro court overshadows the record the fans want serena at 24 or more once she get 24 its all she wrote remember when she got to 18 and won another 3 yea we need the record broken ASAP
@@malcolmnorman5694 what are you talking about she already has the most grand slam in the open era. Court only got that many slams because most women back in the day couldn't travel to different countries
@Shinobu Tsurubushi If Serena was playing her best - and she was far from her best - Bianca would not have had a hope in hell of winning. Let's compare Serena and Andreescu when they've both retired - Andreescu will be nothing but a footnote in women's tennis history. Serena will be the entire book.
Not only the focus she needs to find she needs to find SERENA!!!! The one that won 23 Grand Slams and 3 grand slams in a row in 2015 almost a damn calendar slam if not for punk ass vinci
This woman is the best in Tennis both male and female. There is no other tennis player that is a match. The reason why they do not refer to her as the greatest is simply because she is black. I have read articles in the past on Forbes magazine referring to Steffi Graf as the greatest. Serena has surpassed her record and continues to do that in different generations and yet they try to diminish her place in the history book.
This was her major. She will get it, I know she will. I couldn’t even begin to understand the pressure she must be carrying. Her game is there the focus wasn’t
I would be more intimidated if I were to face Serena in R4 for example than in the finals, considering the 3 times Serena has been in the finals since her maternity leave and that she has lost in all of them
It all comes down to nerves in my opinion. Why? I don't know. She played exceptional tennis throughout the tournament so that's the only explanation. Andreescu played well but Serena could have won based on how she attempted a comeback. On the other hand, I don't see any of the other tops seeds making it to finals so kudos to the G.O.A.T! Trust me, she will figure it out for the 2020 season. I'm convinced that as she gets even fitter her confidence will improve and she will win.
@@winniethomas4687 It's nerves definitely. Look at how she played against Halep at Wimbledon. Hitting off her back foot the whole time, reluctant to move forward. She's put a lot of pressure on herself to get 25 majors. And she's become so much more famous in the past few years so the world has put more pressure on her too. She's trying to do something that no other player has ever done.
@@karlgan5247 Yep. It’s a ton of pressure. You have tons of people who usually don’t care rooting for you and you’re on every tv channel and news site.

Please post the match with McNally. I want to see how her serve-and-volley tactics frustrated Serena as the short highlights did not include a single example of her serve-and-volley style.
Serena has got the built to be come a boxer & she knows how to hit either or she's daring or dangerous, she's good at using her precision most of the time
Most training include theoretical and practical, Ms Martic had the theory and she's now getting the practical. You can clearly see that the practical is more stupidly-exciting than the theory by her reaction to the stupid shots that Serena is making. One commenter, found it more convenient to critique the movement rather than simply say that Ms Williams is unbelievable.
