Too many long rallies. That's not her style of game. And why does the ball sound dead when they're hitting it. And is it me or does it seems as Serena's racquet isn't strung tight enough.
Another idiotic comment, actually the long rallies are good for her and everyone else.When there has been so little tennis played in 2020 you want to hit as many balls as you can especially in the context of match play. I would think that fact that the stands are empty may have something to do with way the ball sounds coming off the rackets to those watching on TV...just a guess

The fact that she is still a force and in contention after 20 years is a testimony to her skill. Can you name any player on the Women’s Tour that you think will win as many Grand Slams and still be a contender when they are Serena’s age. It seems that some of her rivals over the last 20 years have retired but she is still competitive.
Tress Braga, and yet Serena still won, which speaks volumes of how much she can still make things happen. Her opponent played very well and she's many years younger than Serena. It's a win, and Serena fought for it. You should know by now to never underestimate the comeback power of the almost 40 yr. old Ms. Williams. Let's go, GOAT Serena!
Serena still has power and heart but she is finished. She had no business going to the wire with a player like this. The top 10 is loaded with young explosive talent and Serena can no longer match that youth.
You are so right. Time has caught up with her. I hope she calls it quit win or lose after the US Open. She’s the greatest women’s player in history, and has nothing to prove weather she equals or pass Margaret Court record. Plus, Court’s record wasn’t even accomplished in the open era.
