Trombone 1 - Alex Young Trombone 2 - Michael Dawson Trombone 3 - Farmer Derek Trombone 4 - Lucas Hulett Trombone 5- Greg Moose Trombone 6 - Randy Crow Arrangement by Lucas Hulett
I love how the cows don't just meander over with mild curiosity - they hustle themselves over to listen intently. And some seem to be singing along! Just the kind of audience all musicians want.
The song and arrangement they chose was very similar to their own contented moos, as they grouped up. Imo, they thought it was a new group of friendly cows, at first. You can see when they got close enough to realize that there weren’t any cows, and stopped for a second. Cows are _extremely_ intelligent. I’d be greatly in favor of reducing our animal meat consumption in general. I used to raise sheep and they’re delicious, but we only needed maybe 4 sheep a _year_ to feed my two young kids and me. Idk, it would be nice to discuss the whole meat thing without folks freaking out.
@@irenafarm I used to live right down the street from a dairy farm, and would visit the cows often. As you say, they're very intelligent, and very curious. I used to be vegetarian decades ago, until I realized that the plants I was eating also were killed so I could live. Unless I was going to eat only cheese and fruit, there was no getting around that, and you can't live for years on just fruit and cheese. So now, I eat pretty much as Michael Palin suggests - eat real food, not too much, mostly plants.
@@irenafarm I would normally agree with you saying they think it's other cows but Derek's been serenading his cows for years it's how he got his first big one here on RU-vid. They know what trombones look and sound like; they are definitely hustling over for the concert.
@@timothywalker4563 What a great idea! Lots of people sing to their cows to get them to come to them, or call in a music like way. Why not instrumental music? Too bad I don't have any cows...
I stumbled onto this on a day that was not being a very happy day. Completely lifted my spirit. Sharing with my 18 year old grandson, who plays trombone.
Those cattle came from 1/2 mile or so just to listen to a Trombone Concert. We can say they have music appreciation. A few were dancing just simply wonderful. Thanks, guys for playing for them.
I think those old cattle herders got it all wrong, all they needed was a trombone sextet to round up their herds instead of all that riding around on horses with ropes.
Oddly, cows are huge fans of music apparently. I've seen a tone of these videos where people play for cows and they come running. *Edit: writing "tone" was a typo but I found it fitting so it's staying, lol
I used to clean the kitchen after dinner and sing hymns to stave off the loneliness. My little black lab mix loved to hear "At the Name of Jesus". She would come in and sit so quietly. Sweet memories.
Years ago, I bought an old upright piano for my ungrateful son, who supposedly was taking piano lessons and enjoyed music. He probably sat at that piano no more than three times. I sort of knew that would happen, and resisted my now ex's, his mother's, pressure to buy a brand new one. Anyway, I would sometimes sit at it and improvise music, which my sweet dog Max enjoyed. He would come and lie down right under the piano bench as I would play.❤
I have a cat that will come up and put her nose to my keyboard when I play piano. Sometimes I believe she's taking lessons. She loves music. My dog could care less about it.
@@JB-yb4wn I remember a commercial for a dairy product, where the manufacturer claimed their product came "from contented cows." It stands to reason that if these wonderful animals are kept happy and healthy, their milk will be better, healthful, and tastier.
The most friendly audience ever! No arguments about pre-booked seats, already occupied by other cows… just too bad that the flies wouldn’t stop torturing them. And no applause for the musicians, but I’m 100 % sure they felt appreciated!
This was fantastic! The cows probably thought they were watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday night. They were wagging their tails to the beat of the music. Bravo!
This was about the most heartwarming performance I have ever seen! I love how much the cows appreciated the music! Animals are more intelligent than some humans, for sure! Wagging their tails to the beat too! ❤
This is so sweet. Animals love music. I saw another video of a woman playing a guitar and singing, and the cow put his head in her lap and closed his eyes. Elephants love music. My cat used to sit on the piano bench with me when I played. We can communicate with animals more than we know.❤
I absolutely love this!! Raised on a dairy farm in the 1960’s in MI. My dad had a radio in the barn, played country music when milking. Well behaved audience, no yelling, no nonsense just enjoying the music!!
I've never seen cows so happy! Some were even jumping and wagging their tales in excitement. Watching this video was so sweet and made me happy. I love this ❤
The animal world are much smarter than we give them credit for . They really enjoyed the human concert, which is very fortunate for the trombone players!
Such a wonderful uplifting video. If this doesn’t bring a smile to your face and a few minutes of blessed escapism from a hectic world then I don’t know what can. And great performance by the way. Thank you from 🇬🇧 xxx
I was at the zoo when the elephants were out, so I expressed my delight in them by singing "Jai Ganesh," a hymn to the Remover of Obstacles, traditionally depicted as elephant-ish. All five stared at me and two of them knelt until I finished. True story, above MY intellect.
Animals really do respond to music. I sang to parakeets in a pet shop, and they all stopped their squawking and pecking to listen to the melodious melody.
I liked the way the Cows were wagging their tails in approval. I can imagine Bull Joe thinking about asking cow Theresa to have a dance in the middle of the field!
You guys should teach the world how to treat the cows which are humble they told they deliver the right quality milk. love and kindness. This is excellent. They deserve it. They worked very hard for you guys.
❤OH MY GOSH!❤ I loved this so much! It made me so happy and made me laugh! I loved them running to listen and swinging their tails and bobbing their beautiful heads. Thank you for sharing! I love love LOVE COWS SO MUCH!! I do not eat beef ! EVER! Or do dairy! Please continue to take good loving care of them❤❤❤😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤WHAT WONDERFUL MEN YOU ARE😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
No matter how many times I see you call your cows in like this, I never get tired of this. Your friends coming in on this is even better! (That was "Mr. Sandman", right?) Thanks for the happy face on Wednesday, Farmer Derek! 😃
It is Mother by Meghan Trainor - part of the song is "I am your Mother, listen to me" but in this case for Derek it is "I am your owner, listen to me" and obviously the cows do 😅
It reminds me of a scene in The Shawshank Redemption, where Andy locks himself in the office and starts playing the opera music over the loudspeakers in the yard.
