Serenata, a slow waltz, is a celebration of the life of Yvonne Hamblin
[1944-2019], a treasured member of Lydbrook Band with whom she had been associated for over 60 years. Yvonne was loved by her band family and was a dedicated and true lady of banding.
She started playing with Lydbrook Band in the 1950s at a time when there were no uniforms for women - see photo at the end of the video - it is possible that she may have been one of the oldest and most long standing ladies still playing at Championship level in her 70s.
