We just bought this topper, in part, because of your positive review. We discovered that what is now in the box was not the product you reviewed. Tempur-Pedic replaced it with an inferior foam product that they now call Tempur-Material, but the box looks the same otherwise. Tempur-Material is less dense and less supportive than memory foam that expands back to its original shape much more quickly. The substitute topper is white, not blue, and it expands to its final shape almost immediately--not after 72 or 48 hours. They removed the information insert that you showed in your video, probably because it no longer applies to what is inside the box. They kept the same price so that they could sell the product to people who watched past reviews of the "Serenity" product like yours. Also, we found the the dimensions for the queen size had shrunk slightly--two inches shorter in length and 1.5 inches narrower in width. Given that the product you reviewed is no longer sold at Costco, we urge you to remove it or post a disclaimer. We were disappointed and felt victimized. Tempur-pedic should not have marketed this product under the "Serenity" name and used the same look and feel of the packaging.
I purchased the queen size Serenity topper from my local Costco before even seeing this review. My box stated to wait twenty-four hours to expand. I'm thinking the 72 hours was more in llne. I've never owned a Tempur-Pedic, so this was all new to me. Didn't find it all that comfortable on the first tryout. I've come to expect that was because of my shortened expansion time. After another try a week later ( this is a guest bedroom) , I was pleasantly surprised. The topper now didn't feel like it was " bottoming out" as it did on initial use. Since adding a television to that room, I could give it a real workout lol. I own three other queen sized beds and a king, but this was by far the oldest bed. This topper has moved this bed up to second most comfortable in the house, losing out only to my Heavenly bed designed by Simmons for the Westin hotel chain. High praise, indeed! 👏🏾 Highly recommended, just be sure to allow full expansion of 72 hours or more.
This topper is comfy. I wouldn’t say it has support. We got it because our mattress isn’t supper cushy. This is our second try with this topper. And the customer support from Tempur-pedic is lacking. Our cover had a large yellow spot that didn’t come out with washing and we contacted the company to see if they could just replace the cover. We also mentioned to them that the mattress had a very strong smell and this is even two weeks later. They told us we had to return it to Costco and there’s nothing they could do about it. So we had to wrap the king size all back up and take it back to Costco. The second one we actually let’s sit out on another bed in another room for about a week the smell dissipated a little. The company said there should be just a little bit of a smell but will go away overtime. It’s been a month and I still notice a smell when I turn or move in bed. All bedding has been changed a few times. I’m hoping the smell will go away over time. It’s worth a try and if you have any issues you can always return it. We will be keeping this one.
Do you think this is comfortable for side sleepers? I'd like the opinion of more than just this reviewer. Thanks. I'm just afraid the foam is still going to be too hard for me because it's "high density." I weigh about 100lbs so I need something that is really soft or I just lay on top without it sinking much. I wish I could feel this in person but I'm currently in a country where that's not an option so I have to get it online without testing it.
This was by far the worst topper I'd ever slept on. The very first night my neck was so bad I couldn't rid the pain until 5 days after I returned it- still couldnt turn my head for a solid week. My hip, legs all had issues not just my neck. My husband too, if you have spine hardware don't waste your time! Once you sink in you'll hit all hard spot even if the foam shifts with you. The guy in the return line next to us was bringing his back also, we all agreed- never again.
Ours was the king. It hung off each side of our sealy really nicely. That was something i was happy about since most pads dont reach both sides. Wish it could have worked for us. 😔
We sleep daily on a memory foam bed so for me it felt like the real deal. It is difficult for some to transition. When we went from a coil bed to a memory foam mattress it took us some time to adjust but results are amazing.
I have three OG Temper-Pedic topper. It's like sleeping in the fires of hell! 🤣😂 It is hot all year round. It's just me on a king bed. In the winter I sleep with a sheet.
If you sleep hot you should avoid memory foam, its one of the least breathable materials you can have in the comfort layer of you bed, and cooling features are mostly just a gimmick. For some people sleeping hot isnt an issue, but for someone asking that question I would advice against. Just a regular polyfoam topper would be better, or better than that a latex topper. If you really want to splurge wool is very breathable and great as a topper as well, but it needs to be thick to provide a decent amount of pressure relief.
I just got one yesterday and mine is gray not blue like yours. I also slept on it after 4 hours and while I know it says wait 72 hours, does that mean it takes 72 hours to reach its full potential? Or does it mean I can ruin it by sleeping on it before 72 hours? Hope I didn't do anything bad to it by sleeping on it the first night.
Are you sure Serenity is made of Tempur material? The box doesn't say that anywhere and it costs half the price of Tempur Pedic Supreme topper which is also a 3 inch topper, and it clearly highlights it's Tempur material. The colour of Supreme topper matches the well known tempur pedic mattress and does not look like the blue memory foam of Serenity. In my opinion Serenity is simply a memory foam topper and NOT the famous tempur material.
It says it’s tempur technology and tempur material on the website. What is the famous tempur material because the redesigned beds have a new tempur material. This is the original design.
@@Jessek111111 There is original Tempur material, Tempur APR material, Tempur APR+ material, Tempur ES material. In their Tempur Cloud Mattress there is redesigned Tempur Material, not much info on that. I would think that this topper is Tempur ES (extra soft) material, but for some reason it’s blue. It could also be the new redesigned Tempur material found in the Tempur Cloud mattress. The only way to find out is to call Tempur-Pedic and see what foam it actually is.
Hello, I'm interested in this topper and wondered if you found any more finger-sized tears or any other issues with the topper before I purchase one? Thank you for your time and have a great day! :)
All Tempur toppers are low quality now and made with low density foams, not just the serenity. Do keep in mind that foam density and quality have nothing to do with the firmness of the topper though. You can get a firm or soft topper with high density foam, and likewise with low density. On the Tempur's main line of toppers they have reduced the foam density from 5.7 to 3.5 and now to 2.7 lb memory foam. They forgot to reduce the price while they were reducing the quality though.
is the 72 hours necessary - I'm kiing myself sleeping in my own guest room on a small bed waiting out the time. This thing was already 3 inches within a few minute of opening it up. The smell seems to have gone pretty much away just leaving it in a well ventilated room over night. If I stick my nose right up to it then YES, there is still an odor. Just wondering if necessary to wait another 2 days if anyone knows.
No need to wait in my opinion but make sure room is ventilated out.. They just recommend it for the smell to ventilate out. Typically the wait is for it to fully expand as well.
The 72 hour wait time is a must. I used mine after 24 hours and almost returned it. Bottomed out terribly. After giving it a week of non- use, it's firmed up nicely. But forms comfortably at all the pressure points.
