Thanks for this, really interesting. Lifar looks almost casual, but LD is really beautiful! She proves that although she clearly has the extensions, it's not all about maximum extension every single time. The result is a beautiful, elegant style.

Amazingly talented and hard working dancers❤ he looks really casual, like doesn’t even try to impress, only do a “simple” “casual” moves 😮 that shows a real professionalism. And great charisma. A simple guy from Ukraine realised, that he was born to breath ballet instead of air. Unfortunately, russian empire and then bolshevik revolution made a looot of great people escape from Ukraine , russia, Belarus… that’s sad, but I’m glad, he could realise his ambitions in great Paris. When people ask why no one knows great Ukrainians, I’m showing them this story: great artists, writers, composers had not many opportunities: or to go to petersburg, and sometimes change their names from Jewish or Ukrainian into russian variant; or to be repressed because of too much patriotism (when they didn’t want to become rusdian and write about for example, stalin), of to be forgotten, because of a propaganda of “great” russian culture. Who knows that Malevich was Ukrainian with Polish ancestors? Or legendary fashion designer ValentiNa (her clients were the most famous people in US, like Greta Garbo. Mark Shagall was Belarusian Jew. Why everyone think , they were russian? (Serge was working with russian ballet Theater; but as well as with Parisian und Kyiv. Because of literally a couple of hundred years of imperialist propaganda.) It’s not a joke, they keep stealing now.

Hello, John! My name is Anna, I am a journalism major. This is my last year in uni and as my final bachelor’s project I am making a documentary about ballet in Russian province. Your videos have been a great source of inspiration and information for me and I was wondering if I can use some clips in my film? This is a passion project for me and it has no funding or anything of the sort. Looking forward to your reply! Thank you for sharing these gems with us

@JohnRaymondHall

Once again, even in a very small glimpse, and 44 years old, Lifar proves to be a simply awful dancer.
