Wow what a video. The 2 inspectors were great, the sergeant not so great but you basically put him in his place , the drone crashing never seen that before and the 2 great scousers , the porter and the loft guy were great. Well done.

They were both dressed like proper respectable police too, just like they always used to be dressed when on the beat. They look so much more approachable and respectable than the ones dressed like they want to hurt someone.

I can see why the inspector and the the chief inspector are in the positions they are in. Very professional. Never over reacted and realised filming and filming alone poses NO threat to anyone. The police are contractually obliged to identify under their police policy.

Sucks about the drone buddy. I heard a few people have problems with the mini 3 pro with it. Lucky mine has been fine so far but it makes you a bit on edge thinking is this the day that it will crash. The inspectors was spot on and the Sargent soon changed his tune once you put him in his place. Loved it.

Makes me wonder if they used a jamming device to cut the connection . I know they have them , they use them to take drones down over airports . Over a police station , its illegal for them to use it for sure , because there's no restrictions on the air space .

Just a thought, has the mini 3 recently been updated. Updates can sometimes affect the current settings and in the advanced safety settings for lost connection they can change from RTH return to home to hover or worse descend. Watching the video with you mentioning the transmission between drone and the RC being problematic along with how you was trying elevate the drone might show the cause. I'm guessing it didn't just fall out of the sky but came down gradually. Check the settings and confirm if so, might save others from the same fate.

Couldn't you use the drone location option to find your drone ? Also I found that the drone insurance from coverdrone is better than the DJI service pack with a lot lower excess. Only £50 if you lose your drone and I only paid £80 for the cover which covers the drone, controller as well as all other drone equipment I'm carrying.

The CI wanted to know what we find so interesting. I can only explain for myself, so - First; an interaction like yours, a great example of public and police communication, or no reaction at all (against popular belief of always hoping for reaction. I'm sure the guys/girls are fed up of constantly having to expain the same things over and over again to security etc etc) Second; the feeling of flight. Third; fabulous architecture, design, landscape and cleanliness (sometimes). Fourth; learning about the buildings intended use and functions. (for people like me who hate travelling, I get to see much more of the world with interesting and informative commentary). Fifth; if I have to travel somewhere (public access), I feel much more comfortable in the surroundings when I arrive if I have seen one of these videos to get my bearings. For all the people who panic about being in a video. I promise we are not looking at 'you'. We may sometimes see a 'person' doing their job (which is great, why not wave if it won't distract you from your work)

I actually think a pigeon hit your drone. there was a flock of them flying around. Your controller has a video cache that you can play back low-resolution video of your footage when the drone malfunctions. even though the drone was replaced it might be worth checking just for curiosity.PS always double-check your safety setting after a update because sometimes they alter back to the default setting.

Chief was cool, Inspector was riding the waves, sgt big boots had to downsize from ten to five, lad at end was great

i lost mine with a crash landing, theres a way of going into the settings and it will give yo the coordinates where it last transmitted , put the gps coordinates into Google Maps and it pinpoints where it came down , it walked me to mine i couldn't see it and when i looked down it was at my feet.

I have a Mini 2 and if it gets lost which it has once there is a facility on the app to 'Find My Drone' and shows you on the map where it is?!

I crashed mine 189m away on a cliff. The drone should still send a last know location to the handset. You should see where it was in the map. I found mine that way

If it can be proved that they've used a jamming device ( which they have), they've put themselves up for a barrel load of legal action...And the internal history will have an exact history of the time it got blocked, for insurance purposes alone.

I have a DJI Mini 3 too and the only time is gone out of control was when it was flying close to an apartment block (Imagine a V shaped building, I was stood in the middle of the V) I know that the Mini 3s controller works on a frequency that’s similar to WIFI, so I’m guessing WIFI from an apartment could have interfered with my drone. I noticed in the video that as soon as Auditing Yorkshire was trying to return to home (RTH) he put it into sport mode. You shouldn’t do that as sport mode turns off the collision avoidance sensors.

I suggest you look into EW systems some police and fire units have received and are trialing to use against drones operating in areas such as active fires with aerial appliances on site and active crime scenes. They may have the ability to target an area or down a line. An academy may be the perfect place for a trial.

Possibly the signal was interrupted by a more powerful signal blocker, causing the drone to make a landing ? Attach an 'Apple tag' to the next one, to find its location. Did you report the loss to the reception ?

Thats a bummer you lost it AY but the 2 year care and refresh is the best insurance ever. Got it with my 4 pro too , which is so much safer with obstacles. Chief inspector was a true gent. ..... Its not possible to transfer care and refresh from one to another, it gets registered to the one you got it with. The 4 Pro is truly the dogs .. it sees where its going up down around and apart from a rogue seagull it is almost foolproof. But beware the 4 Pro has EU limitations come new year if you register the EU codings.. my advice is ...dont register it on the EU specs. *************** Always check new updates before every flight mate .

Do not let that small sub 250g drone spook the horses. Nags that are trained to get stuck in to crowd control at football, trained to charge at rioters are and obviously bound to be spooked by the quiet hum of a drone.

Any drone defence system should just jam the signal. My understanding was that the drone should then return and land at the take off point.
