Great video! Martinez is a great fighter and a naturally gifted athlete. But if you watch Roy Jones video with the same song you'll notice the speed difference. Roy is the fastest handed fighter I've ever seen. Not to mention the punching power in both hands and the ability to throw 6-7-8 punch combinations at will. The only thing Roy was not born with was a granite chin but when he was in his prime he couldn't be hit bc of his reflexes so I guess he didn't need it much back then.

Not taking away anything from Sergio, he has very fast hands and isn't afraid to let them go. Plus he has enough pop that stings opponents enough to keep them honest and at bay so as to force them to make adjustments. If he spoke English I believe he would a superstar here in the USA on the level of Floyd and Manny. He did close to half a million PPV sales with Chavez Jr. Impressive for two non-english speaking fighters. Fights with Canelo or Cotto would reach the million mark in my opinion.

Yeah, definitely. Floyd is way good, but that's why people want to see him challenged. And after seeing Martinez's performance last night, I think Floyd has a great chance though I will be seeing Floyd's this week as well. Nevertheless, it sucks when the generation of boxers dies off. If Martinez and Floyd fought, rather Martinez would be drained and loose or both aren't drained and Martinez wins plausibly by late ko. Martinez is too big for Floyd, they're in different weight classes. Ivan Calderon statistically was as great a fighter as Floyd but when he fought a big brawler he couldn't handle the size [he had gone up in weight]. With that said, Floyd is smaller it shows that he's an all time great with the fact that people compare him to bigger men.

Honestly, I think SM is #1. He beats up on guys who hit so much harder than him, and are usually larger than him. JC JR came in at like 190 for the fight. Andre ward (I don't believe) would be able to do that, it's possible, he is very talented but his chin hasn't really been checked. Sergio's chin may not be granite, but he has the heart of a warrior and always will get up. Sergio's like a combination of manny and floyd , always putting constant pressure and countering.

I don't think Floyd can be too smart for Martinez. Floyd touched canvas with a Judah left hand before. We're talking about Judah. He's 1/100th of a fighter Martinez is.

I have Ward #1 now. He's just untouchable-literally-and packs one hell of a punch. When Ward fights, he fights his fight. His opponent's faces are full of frustration all the time. Though, I'd like to point out that, when it comes to entertainment, Sergio is just too fun to watch. It'd be neat to watch Floyd defend his belts against Sergio Martinez at 154. I can see the scenario go one of two ways: Either Sergio's left connects on chin all night, or FMJ proves to be quicker and frustrates SM.

Thank you ! And he is incredible, in my opinion he's the best right now. Who else LITERALLY fights almost a whole fight with their hands completely down, every fight? He got TKO'd by Antonio Margarito, but that was in the beginning of his career, and who knows, that cheater probably had those plaster gloves. Sergio is better than Floyd, imo. He brawls and boxes, at the same time. He would whoop Floyd.

Sergio too fast for cotto, but cotto has a huge advantage nobody has mentioned, his shorter than Martinez, short guys always give problems to Martinez , tall guys are easy to hit. N remember is cotto!!!! He is no bum.

sergio martinez is pretty awesome , but nothing compairs to roy jones prime (to much speed in lighheavyweigth division)

Floyd actually may lose considering saul was actually putting hands on floyd as slow and drained as he was and he was making floyd miss quite a bit of shots. Martinez is a bigger slicker more experienced fighter class wise. I hope to see him and Martinez in the ring...without a lame catchweight.
