I was 13 and would get these albums for my birthday along with Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass! I am 70 now and love this music as ever if not more. So glad I grew up when did!❤
I remember this album from when I was just 6 years old. My father had it and played it and I loved everyone of their songs throughout my life and listened to their songs every now and then. Their smooth silky beautiful voices are so exquisite to listen to! I still remember the lyrics to every one of their songs. I'm 62 years old now and forever a Sergio Mendez & Brasil 66 fan for life!
Today is July 21st, 2023. 1st time I heard about this group. I’m 62. I’m still discovering new music. New in the sense that I am just finding out about it.
I was in High School when my folks moved us to Puerto Rico for a short while. It was the mid 70’s - it was heaven. This album came with us down there.. it was one of the soundtracks for me of that amazing time.
Look of Love & Nite & Day... such Wonderful memories come flooding back; remembering when i first heard these songs during the excitement of youth and 1st Love!!
My mom would play Sergio Mendes when we were living in Chicago during the 70s. I always loved this album and she introduced me to the entire Mendes discography. I especially loved the female vocalists - their phrasings and stylistic approach to the songs. Sergio Mendes is the genius of minimalism!
I was in grade 3 when I learned to love your kind of music w/my mom. I still listen to it upto this day. Thank you very much for sharing your talent. God bless
I was 24 when I purchased this album. I have it still and play it often. Such genius in its arrangements with those beautiful voices. SO much better than most of what is out there today. The lyrics are so unique and memorable. I'll be 80 next year, and I will play this as long as I'm here to do so.
My parents used to play this album and danced! I have loved it since childhood! And, introduce people to it! Everyone else loves it too! The whole album is fantastic! Thank you so very much mom and dad!❤️🙏
SERGIO MENDEZ 1966: THIS IS THE MOST LOVELIEST MUSIC: MELLOW, RELAXING, ROMANTIC, SUAVE, LOVELY, GENTLE, SULTRY, SEXY. I HAVE NO MERE WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW LOVELY THIS MUSIC SOUNDS. SERGIO MENDEZ A BRAZILIAN LEGEND!!!
I can remember as a little girl, my parents putting this record on the hifi and dancing in the living room… such a fantastic way to grow up. #Brasil66forever
The whole album brings back so many memories of my mom. It bring to life my mom and my sister who have both passed. Listening to this album is as if they are still here. I love and miss them. Maybe, if I earn my wings one day I will be in the light they live in.
These arrangements and their performance are an expression of absolute genius: genuine art, impeccable taste, total respect, and infinite care. I will always love them.
My step dad ( may he rest in peace) played their records all of the time in the late 60's and early 70's. Listening to this brings back so many pleasant memories!
When ever hear their songs ,it's when I met my girlfriend and wife Jan, I was 18 and she was 17, in chicago what wonderful memories, we will be married 50 years in April 2023.
I Looove this music❤ I was a little girl growing up in 🇹🇹 Trinidad when I first heard this Beautiful Music. My favorite. song is Like a Lover......Thank You for posting😊
I grew up listening to this in the 60s. It was a wonderful soundtrack for life. Today, music has been weaponized, to create strife, tension, and anxiety. Turn on your car radio and flip through the dial, if you can stand it.
Why why why-tom jones? Great point!its like we had music for the best of times and today's pablum seems almost organized in its chaotic vibe.Soundtrack for end times?
Good old songs, I used to hear so long ago, that are still very good to hear. The girl's voices are very good, so is the chorus, and the music is great too.
Every Friday night my parents would either have a party, a poker game, or they would go dancing. I remember them playing this album. I have tickets to see Sergio Mendes at the Jazz Alley on 29 January 2022…I can’t wait! It will be my first time ever seeing him live.
This was a style of music I would have never listened to or picked up on my own. But in the 1960s I was in the Navy and the intercom on the ship I was serving on was always blasting with Sergio Mendes. I didn't like it at first, being a hard rocker, but I began to listen and realized how wonderfully things were put together and how smooth it was, and became a big fan!
2021. Tickles my brain. Still love it. In 1966 I was seven. I couldn't wait to download on Limewire. Then I would play the album in my taxi circa 2000, And my customers were amazed. I always enjoyed playing cd mixes for my customers. I would make a new cd mix before my shift and play it all night long.
It certainly is timeless! The good old days of the 60's and 70's. Life was simple and carefree. We definitely had more fun then. Brilliant musicians. May they live on in our hearts forever. Gracias.
I can just get out in my summer dress riding my Bicycle. People waving & saying "Hello." Kids doing Breakdancing or playing Basketball. Haayyy.... the times 💖💕 I'm sorry. It's the 2020's 🥵😵 & what I wouldn't give to get back to those times 🌤🚵♀️🏝
Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66: I think these are some of the greatest love songs ever written and performed. They are so personal and beautiful. You want to experience every word. I'm not sure if Sergio followed this beautiful path with his later recordings, but these songs are unique and breathtaking. World Class!
As many of the viewers I too was captured by Brazil '66 years ago. I find them timeless. Beckons us to a calmer time and space to breathe again. Gracias!
Back in the days when you didn't have understand the words, but your soul did. Such a great time to be alive. Much of the music today still can't be understood but for different reasons. Only some misguided anger and hate come through, no love..
This music is timeless. Can remember this stuff on the radio as a young teen here in Australia. Leaves the crap today for dead. Sergio Mendes is a musical genius, a unique and brilliant sound he created with Brazil 66. This music will never die.
I got into this music when I was listening to the radio station in Chicago, WSDM. The station with the GIRLS. They played so many good vibes. And Sergio Mendes and Brazil '66 came on. I wanted to visit Brazil then!! But more importantly, I knew this music sound was differently sweet! Since then I'm still a huge fan.
It’s very relaxing, and pleasant to hear this beautiful Music on these troubled Days, thanks señor Mendez for your talent , your Music 🎼 , and Thanks for

This group influenced my appreciation of music since day 1. The arrangements, harmony and that "it" factor all rolled into one supercharged sound. Timeless
While in girls' boarding school, I feel in love with the most marvelous man (a military cadet) while listening to Sergio Mendes. 46 years later, we still get so emotional listening to Sergio and Lani Hall.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT GRADE YOU WERE IN WHEN YOU HEARD SERGIO MENDES AND BRAZIL 66 (MAS QUE NADA) THEN BUT IN 1968 YOU PROBABLY RECOGNIZED THIS SONG BY THIS ARTIST AS BEING ICONIC AND TIMELESS TOO 2 YEARS LATER HUGH MASEKELA (GRAZING IN THE GRASS) TAP THAT BABY UP FOR YOURSELF IF YOU'D LIKE SERGIO MENDES YOU WILL LOVE THIS!!
Congratulations! My soulmate and I would have celebrated fifty years of listening to Sergio Mendes, eight children, and forty-eight years of marriage on October 20 had she not "passed" in 1997. Brasil '66, -'77, and -'88 will always be close to my heart, and their music will always bring forth a sense of nostalgia and a few tears. Thank you for posting.
@@edwatts9890 so sorry for your loss. By concentrating on the good times and the special person that she was, she will live in your heart. And in all of the hearts that she touched in her own special way. Stay strong my brother!
Puedo decir algo similar. Aún veo a mi madre bailando y a mi tía titi Rip Cantando con su voz de ángeles Bueno se que estas entre agresivo cantando . Te amo tía Titi
Sergio Mendes and Herb Alpert, along with a few others, were at the cutting edge of introducing us to the Latin sound during the heyday of the British Invasion (Beatles, Stones, etc,.) in the '60s and then into the '70s. Both groups endured and their sounds remain classics. Great music,. Thanks for posting, Mr. Vinyl.

a really big chart place into history is their album: look around. 'loved it as a little girl, played it until worn out! 'miss women having singing voices as what these two did/do❤. thank you for this post of truly Gifted music:)
This, with Beatles' Rubber Soul, Sinatra's September of My Years, Secret Garden's Secret Garden and Ivo Sedlacek's Mystic Violin are the five best albums. Thank you Lani and Sergio for the tunes which never grow old.
Mi hermana mayor que ya se adelantó le gustaba mucho una estación de radio aquí en México que era 620 y ahí tocaban esa hermosura de música ya pasó más de 55 años y para mí es música celestial
