My cousin has been in prison for over the last 10 years, so trust me when I say they will NOT forget . They have little to no control over their lives behind those walls, so they hold extremely tight to the morals and rules they do have. I would bet anything he's under 23 hr lock down, only let out to shower, and even rec time is alone in a tiny outdoor cell, most of which only have open ceiling for sunlight and air . If guys like that get into general population, they do not last. Amd the guards will turn their eyes and let it happen for a while before intervention.

That's a made up statistic. A criminologist said he heard it somewhere but I can't find a source for it. It sounds extremely high, and I doubt that number especially if it doesn't include gang members who we don't typically think of as serial killers. I suppose they can be, but that's the cause of the majority of murders, not sensationalized ones like Dahmer.

My woman and our 4 kids were this close 🤏 to moving into that house after the muders. We were basically homeless and desperate so we went to see the house. The house is completely renovated and I seen the utility room where he stabbed the grandma to death and the bathroom where he drowned the little boy. I asked God to please provide us with a different home and he did. I couldn't sleep in that house. I hope he gets what he deserves for what he did to that family.

I’ve seen horrific true crime stories but this guy was absolutely chilling. He had absolutely no remorse and was obviously enjoying talking about the murders. No fear at all during the high speed chase and laughing about it all. He should never ever be released. He’s a true psychopath IMO.
I knew this kid when I worked at the jail. He wasn't there for any serious crimes. Never thought I'd see the day when he did what he did. I was working in Camden the day he was on the run and my boy is the one who apprehended him. What's even crazier is that my wife used to live in the home where the unfortunate souls were murdered. I'm going to assume you're at least 18, think back at every single thing you've ever done since the age of 8. Every school day, trip, conversation, work day, weekend. Think of how much life you've lived since 10 years ago. Now spend that in a cell. Now do that again 5 more times. It's easy to want to give someone like 140 years but they're only going to live for 60 of them anyways so what's the point of a token long sentence that doesnt mean shit?

Looking at his face as he’s getting chased by the cops can be only described as an empty hollow shell. You can see he has not the slightest bit of remorse, guilt, sadness, or even reason in his eyes. When i first heard he got 60 years for this i was pretty pissed, until i realized how long 60 years really is. Basically your entire life on top of that being in an enclosed space with nothing else but other killers who are just as crazy if not more.
I shy away from these labels usually, but he's GOTTA be dark triad. The muted emotions in everything while doing such horrible imminently transgressive things, along with how he speaks on it and seems to perceive it, screams psychopathy or very severe sociopathy. People like that are punished from birth, really. Most of them aren't like this guy, they're just socially toxic in ways they don't see in themselves. But one of the hallmark things is that things like pain and pleasure aren't strong experiences for them, not strong motivating forces. They lack mirroring skills and so can't feel 'the vibe' in the room, or the reciprocal emotional exchanges between people in love, etc. They can mimic the superficial aspects well, just anything they can see on the outside. But the rest inside ain't all there, and they don't even know what's supposed to be there themselves. They just know how people act in this and that situation and copy it. The thing is, not having fully working emotional processing/narratives/empathy doesn't remove the need that humans have for others. So these people tend to find themselves unequipped to make it in the world, constantly sabotaging opportunities and key relationships. And then in their own minds, they lack a sense of meaning in the things that they do, or the things other people do. It makes it hard to organize a coherent life, living in this world driven by people, like trying to be a tone-deaf composer. The ones becoming CEOs are rare exceptions, and many times they are less effective as CEOs, because they can't perceive the needs and whims of the people they command and support. For most, it's a lonely, empty existence largely devoid of sensations of real fulfillment or personal satisfaction. I think that's why a few of them end up doing really twisted things. I think the heightened emotions during violent situations and risky situations such as a violent murder is, might be the only time they see a consistent emotional narrative in themselves - the one time they can see themselves really feeling anything, not just being an automaton. Or, that's been my personal theory on why people like this do these things. I think it's connected to why people on the antisocial spectrum engage in more self-harm. It makes things feel 'real' for them on an emotional level, where the rest of the world is dead. Notice how during that chase, he was if anything mildly excited at points. Yes, still generally placid, but I think he was probably genuinely happy in those moments. It's STILL like a video game to him, but one he's enjoying playing. FWIW, Matthews describes it as depression, which is commonly reported for antisocial. But in those cases, the depression is just a lack of an overall ability to really experience full positive emotions. All of their highs and lows are cut, leaving just that middle band, like a purgatory. I don't know that they even know depression like we know it. They just know that they aren't ever happy and extrapolate from other people that it must be depression, as they themselves don't know they are antisocial. He did seem to sense that there was something wrong with him. But like a lot of sociopaths, doesn't see how wrong, doesn't see that nobody out there is accepting depression as an explanation for such atrocious acts. Long term depression can lead to callousness and acting out, but you don't forget your basic empathy long term, you just get caught up in moments. You still care about/feel for others and so have remorse after, so much so that it usually makes the depression worse. Yet to him, in his understanding, he might genuinely believe it's depression that makes him kill and not care. Any neurotypical, and even many other classes of neurodivergent people will tell you that's not how it works, but again he would only know the superficial markers people show, not the inner sensations or how those relate to that person's choices. 60 years in the same place with no feelings of curiosity or satisfaction within to make something of it, is hell for someone like him, more even than it would be for you or me. You'll just never see them really express it, because they can't. I promise, it's twice as boring for him as any of us would be able to make it through the bonds we'd form with inmates/guards and natural coping mechanisms we'd adopt with our fully working emotional brains. Guy'll be his own worst enemy in there. Watch. Y'know what the sad part is? If anyone close to him understood what I'm talking about here, this might not have had to happen. He probably did need help. If you're anywhere on the antisocial spectrum, life is not so good on your own, usually. Deep down inside, they still need people. They just lack the stuff to get there on their own. He was probably telling the truth when he said he cried for help. It's common for them to not know why they are how they are, even after recognizing it in themselves. Many figure out they aren't like other people, and it's causing problems for them and every one. Those people can be taught cognitive techniques to compensate for what they lack in empathy and experiential depth, and actually be a part of society. It's just a very difficult process to get someone like that to see the value in, because of how their brains work. Same reason it is rare for people with NPD to respond well to behavioral work. They lack the hardware to acknowledge the flaws in their behavior to begin with. You basically have to work to build these lattices around them that send them in the right direction, always convincing them that it works to their favor. But it's better than leaving a mass murderer/manipulator to do that until someone gets hurt and another body fill another cell.
