Excuse me but how did the last guy not get life? Just because she didn't die didn't mean that the intent wasn't very clearly there. As far as I'm concerned, attempted murder should result in the same charges if they had succeeded.
Pretty sure there’s a max amount of years you can get for a crime. Murder and several other things are up to life. Michigan u can get up to life, Texas up to 20 yrs
Yeah, I’ve always found that odd. It’s like they’re rewarding monsters for failing. They had the same intention as murderers, they just failed to accomplish their goal. And for some reason that’s less concerning and despicable than someone who succeeded?
The second detective was extremely efficient. His calm voice and guilt tripping him with his deceased family were great examples of what good detectives should do
What makes me soooo so sad is how much Jeremy truly loves and knows Ashley. She really made a huge mistake cheating on him. One, because he seems like a genuinely sweet young man who values her more than anyone, and two, because the guy she cheated with turned out to be a homicidal monster.
My uncle got killed in an unexpected explosion while he was out on his own in an oilfield (he was out inspecting tanks, I believe). It blew him off of the top of the tank and after he landed he crawled over a mile with 3rd degree burns on half of his body. This was in the late 80's out in the middle of nowhere so there were no people around and no cell phones to call for help. He died eventually but he made it incredibly far before succumbing to his injuries.
@@PunchDrunkLizzy I'm sorry to hear that ya that sounds horrible. At least he wasn't M*ed. They're probably both in heaven since she got justice, I think that's one way bad spirits are made
To let someone out after 20 year that purposely tried killing someone but failed is beyond my comprehension. So the judge wants to give him more chances at killing other people? The justice system is totally broken.
Waste of government expenditures keeping someone behind bars beyond 20 years. I doubt he was released without being thoroughly assessed repeatedly over multiple years to determine the risk the public may face with him in the community. And again, he will be watched and monitored very closely. He may longer be in prison, but he certainly isn't free the way you and I are to exist within society without additional limitations applied.
@@gSWG3R There have been SO many people who were, not only given light sentences to begin with, but returned to continue to commit even more horrific crimes . I’m curious if you sincerely believe that such criminals are carefully assessed and thoroughly monitored during and after incarceration ? I hate it when people who disagree with other commenters sling ugly replies at them … So my reply to yours is well-meaning and genuine . Trying to keep this short ! But the system in the U.S. is so broken, it’s shocking - if you are actually paying attention . One of the main reasons being that they have privatized ‘prison’ to the point that just about anyone with a modicum of training or background can enter into and hugely profit from subcontracting in the business of jailing their fellow man … . Personally , I find that super scary. There’s little or no oversight, in ANY department . From feeding inmates to monitoring the mental health of them during or after their sentence. Anyway , I believe your comment to be FULL of holes and misinformed .
So let me get this straight. A guy chokes a girl and snaps her neck. Thinks she’s dead. Then he decides I’m going to pretend I killed her a different way so he chokes her again and ditches “the body” and then only gets 20 years?????? He literally tried to kill her twice!
the detective tells her that the victim survived and name dropped her as the offender yet her reaction instead of freaking out and being horrified/mortified she responds with oh she talks shit all the time smh
Yes, she was a fighter. She did end up dying 16 days later from the attack, but she at least gave answers to her loved ones and police...without that those evil witches would have been walking free.
watch the testimony of the first responder who got there first this poor young man is clearly haunted by what he saw that day, he displayed a huge amount of compassion knowing he would probably be the last one she talked to while she was still alive.
Ain't no way they bent the hammer like that from hitting her. I'm guessing it was already a used hammer that someone was trying to pry something up with and bent it. You can tell cause the hammer head is bent down.
I swear whenever I hear about "avoiding eyecontact" I worry that nobody would believe me as I always avoid eyecontact. I hate it and can't stand it even when having a relaxed convo with a friend, lmao
Yeah, I hear ya. Many cultures find it rude. Mot Native Americans find it very rude to make eye contact. The marshals on my reservation know this and work around it.
Yep. If I talk to someone, it is hard for me to keep eye contact for more than a few seconds at a time. I don't know if it is self-conscious issues or what.
The problem with "you're lying if you don't keep eye contact" is only a half truth, anyhow. It all depends on the situation. In the first case, her avoidance of eye contact was also motivated by the fact she knew she was done for. So she knew there was no hope despite her refusing to admit the truth. HOWEVER, in a lot of cases, when the person is actively trying to fool you and they think/hope they have a chance, they will make MORE eye contact. Psychologically, it apparently has to do with them watching your face and reaction to make sure you believe whatever BS they're saying. TL:DR body language isn't cut and dry.
For every “tell” in an interrogation, theres also context. These “tells” arent special on their own. Interrogators cant actually inexplicably know you are or are not lying, thats why they gather information outside the interrogation room and ask the suspect tons of questions. Theyre building a case, one answer at a time.
A skilled interviewer will baseline your behaviour first: if you are not making eye contact on low stakes questions, that's your baseline. If you change your behaviour on high stakes questions, that's what they use. So someone who doesn't make eye contact suddenly going out of their way to make eye contact is a tell. In the first case, the woman was making eye contact in the beginning with police, then suddenly avoided it. And for the record, it's not normal to constantly make eye contact with someone. Try it on some random person and watch their reaction to it.
The guy that said " We never kissed ... We never kissed ... We never kissed " .... We had sex in the back of the truck ... What in the hell dude ??? ... I am amazed how some people are so strong they defy the odds .... I am so happy Ashley was able to recover and testify against him ...
@@Shilobotomizedu should be in jail or some special area only for thinking like that. People like u are the reason there is so much blood between human kind.
Yeeaaaa... Am I the only one who doesn't get the sentencing difference between 1st degree murder and ATTEMPTED murder? I mean, as far as that guy knew the girl was DEAD, right? So in HIS mind he was already a murderer. He knew what he was doing and knew what he did. Then he finds out, "omg she's alive", and simply because of the fact that the victim SURVIVED the murderer gets a reduced sentence?! WHY??? What he did was STILL a heinous, violent crime! 20 years isn't enough for someone for INTENTIONALLY tried to murder someone. And just because they suck at murder doesn't mean "oh, let's give them a break." I know the law is the law, and you have to charge people accordingly under the law. BUT.. there needs to be SOME type of loophole for stuff like this. Like, if you intentionally TRY to kill someone and legit think they're DEAD, then you should be charged with murder in the 1st or 2nd degree even IF you find out later that they survived. Their survival should mean nothing for you other than the fact that IF they can talk then they'll blame you. Other than that, as far as your murdering ass is still concerned you still killed someone and are going to be tried for it.
She was so incredibly casual until she realized that this incident could be "life changing" and that there were 3 different versions of the events. Then you can see the wheels turning and it dawns on her that she got caught. Then she starts crying. I thought I saw this before with another video. I think they were all fighting over the same man. The husband of one of those 3 women.
Whats worse is knowing for the second story this happened in 2007, which means Sam will have finished serving his sentence in 2027. He's also eligible for patrol this year (2024).
The first case was horrifying. I can't imagine what that young lady went through. But the second case....Oh my! He really said, "We never kissed, but we f***ed"? What a piece of work he is! I hope he is a prison bitch. I'll bet they never kiss either.
@@tysihenkel9219 NO! POTENTIAL KILLER! OP WAS RIGHT. THE PERSON WASN'T A KILLER BECAUSE THE VICTIM WAS STILL ALIVE. THE MEANING OF WORDS STILL MATTER EVEN IF SOME PEOPLE IGNORE THAT!
First one was a killer, second one was an attempted killer. Either way who cares, the guy still thought he killed her, so would have thought of himself as a killer anyways
@@Rage_Harder_Then_Relax You really didn't need to type that in all caps. Also, who cares, you don't have to be technical over the terminology of someone who attempted to kill, and thought he did kill. Calm down.
Ive never liked all this "she had bad posture and touched her lips so she's guilty" stuff. Lord help you if you have scoliosis and chapped lips, youre going to get accused of killing JFK
Yeah, me neither I mean I understand that there are some telltale signs that someone is lying by their body language. But they get carried away with that shit way too much
It's not about action x y or z means anything specific it's about deviations from a baseline. If someone is animated and cheerful until you hit a nerve and they suddenly clam up it means something.
Also noticed they didn't even start crying or tearing up until they said that it was a sitting an easy with them that she wasn't emotional. Then she became more emotional
@@lisapop5219it was that and also the fact there was a RUMOR she was talking to a guy one of the girl’s was sleeping with. A rumor that was false, so all this was over some weak dick bro. They were jealous and mad over smth that they could’ve just asked about. Disgusting human beings.
If there was a guy who was having relations with any of those 3 and suddenly Audreanna was being friendly with this guy, then yeah, I could see them feeling sore about it. And then if Audreanna made some comment that addresses the obvious (that she's way more attractive and that they are quite homely) , then yeah I could see years and years of anger and resentment coming out. Notice they burned her - disfigurement, ie 'nobody gonna want your crispy ass now'.
I know right. The worst detective interview skills iv seen is that case were the suspect gave away around $250k of his dads money to an online hot woman. Then proceed to murder his family
It ceases to amaze me how nobody just asks for a lawyer and stop talking. Its also shocking how easily people are manipulted by detectives.under no circustances are police ever looking out for your best interest.
They are trying to find the killer, not make new friends. But some of them go too far and end up with false confessions, so it is best to demand a lawyer and shut up.
This channel is awesome! I just discovered it, and I’m three videos in and I love it! So tired of those 20-40 minute, drawn out videos. Too much trivial information. I’m hooked!
Oh my God! She said “the kids never saw any of that”… Because I didn’t! Anyone who was innocent would say that they didn’t know anything about it… Watching this first woman lie is tragic
lie detectors really don't work that well, they can't be used as proof as studies showed it's not reliable. You can't use this as evidence at all. Plus if you know how it works you can trick it so hard, you just have to have a messy breathing rhythm during the control questions
Ive seen this before unfortunately she didnt survive she just battled through some of the most horrific pain ive had described to me ever right until she could get her side of the story out then she pretty much died from pain but she was a warrior pretty sure her name was brianna or maybe it was audreanna was a while ago when i watched and it wasnt this specific video but i think about her sometimes just because of what they did to her is just beyond me

If I were ever framed for something the i'd look guilty as hell because I never have eye contact with people. I get really annoyed for some reason so I just look around and sometimes try to make it look like im having eye contact by looking at their forehead
Same honestly I'll be like super anxious, angry, or both, and wouldn't be able to talk clearly or even maintain eye contact properly so... that'd be a problem.
