I took my S7 exam on 1/7/2024 and I got a 68%. I got absolutely killed on suitability. I counted 18 questions on this topic alone. I had 11 questions on what percentage would you put a client in. For example "An 74 year old woman received 100K from selling her home. She knows nothing about investing and she wants to generate income and stability as she is on a fixed income. What would you recommend for her funds. A. 0% Bonds, 100% equities. 25% equities, 75% bonds, C. 50% Bonds and 50% equities. d. 0% equities and 100% Bonds. In my opinion I think these are the questions that killed me on the exam. I had 18 option questions, but only 2 required math (BE, MG, ML) the rest were what you suggest a client buy to offset their current position. I got confused if the new position should have a XP higher or lower than the current XP. The other questions were not terrible, they just try to confuse you in the answer set in my opinion. The SIE was very straight forward, this was not. I take the test again March 25th and hopefully pass so that way I can get this done. Dean if you can suggest a lecture about determining what percentage I should put a client in that would be awesome. I have heard whatever their age is should be the percentage of bonds, but I just want another suggestion. Thank you and good luck to all the other test takers!
