One thing I use to help me remember how to hedge foreign currencies with options is RPBP (receiving payment buy puts) and OPBC (owe payment buy calls) :) hope this can help others too!!

I just passed my Series 7 today. Prior to taking the test. I had failed 4 practice exams the day before I scored a measly 54%. I watched this video on my drive to the exam, and I jotted everything he said on my scratch sheet before to the best of my ability. When the final screen said pass, I almost fell out of my seat. 5:20 The way I remember the order of Nominal, Current Yield, YTM, and YTC is "Never Crap Your Yarmulke" Its goofy enough that I dont forget it ever, and it has worked everytime on the practice tests.

So I just took the series 7 two days ago and it was not what I was expecting. I did watch a lot of Deans videos and no doubt they helped a great deal (Thx Dean) but be advised, the test was far different from what I was studying for. There was a far smaller amount of options and bond questions than I was expecting, but mostly it was a lot of suitability and dealing with clients and investments for their portfolio. I didn't see one question in regards to any of the practice questions and they were more complex. What I'm trying to say is learn the products, proper evaluation of the client and his/her bests interests, and how to deal with clients, trust me. And yes I passed. Good Luck everyone!

Wow thank you so much for doing this I’m taking my series 7 next Tuesday and haven’t been able to get above a 60 on my practice Test I always pick the other possible answer or the answer that applies to what I do as a CSA but it’s not necessarily what Firma requires. I’ve has to unlearn a lot of things or at least forget. It’s not that I don’t know the material but I’m just not picking the best possible answer and so to try these tracks out on my next practice test which will be tonight hopefully will help me raise my score

@@antonyjames988 all these are covered in other lectures. Consumer pice index and interest rates in my economics lecture and efficient market hypothesis is in the suitability exams. Here is a quick test over view. You need to know the consumer price index is used to measure inflation and constant dollars are dollars measured for inflation. I doubt you will see this on your Series 7 exam. Shows up most of the time on SIE exam and Series 65 exam. Efficient market hypothesis says that everything to be known about a security is known and is reflected in the current market price therefore active management not only doesn't work but is a waste of resources. For a believer in the efficient market hypothesis we should recommend an index mutual fund. This suitability question about efficient market hypothesis and an index fund shows up on SIE exam, Series 7 exam , Series 65 exam and Series 66 exam. There is no questions about correlation of interest rates. There are questions about the inverse relationship of interest rates and bond prices. See my debt lectures for how you can use the teeter totter or see saw to turn these type of judgement questions into aim and shoot, point and click questions. The relationship of nominal yield, current yield, yield to maturity and yield to call is testable on SIE, Series 7, 65 and 66. On SIE and 65 you are held accountable for the discount rate, fed funds rate, broker call, and prime rate. See my economics lecture. It is time stamped so you can easily find where in the lecture to find it.

Dean, I wanted to see if you had any advice or other tools you would suggest for studying. I watched all of your videos and lectures including the high level overview day of exam. I’ve also taken the STC course and bought a few study materials. I did not pass today and missed by 2 points with a 70. I also looked at areas the said I’m not adequate in but it’s so high level. I felt I had a solid basic understanding of the products. Any advice? This is my 2nd attempt. The first was 71. Took another 2 months to study.
@@Jose16633 that's helpful. That's 91 questions so if you find a few points there you will make your mark. Print the pdf from the FINRA website and checkout their breakdown of function 3.
just watched the whole thing it may sound dumb but sometimes what confuses me is when should you do buy limit and sell stop you said always do it under marketprice does this relate to resistance and support levels?
