Dear Sir, You helped me pass my all GED exams on the first try....especially Math !!! Now that I am in A&P school, I have to deal with circuits and I am dead in the water. So I turned to you...and I can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. I will watch your videos over and over until I get the concept. So far you have always come through for me and I really appreciate it. FYI.....I am almost 70 years of age. So for the younger generation out there...don't give up and God Bless.

I used to not like circuit diagrams because they were so confusing, but with your help, I now see how elegant they can be. Not only does your teaching help students like me understand how to solve problems and get through tests, but you help us see the beauty in the physics, which I think is incredibly valuable. Keep up the great work!

I quite enjoy all your lectures; you explain things with more clarity than so many professors. I would ask that you do a few more videos to elaborate about input voltage and output voltage because if I understand correctly the input voltage is the voltage across the battery and the output voltage is the voltage across the second resistor in the series. Some people might be confused and think that it is different.

I thought electric current or electron current actually flowed from the negative side as what is actually flowing through a circuit is negatively charged electrons, and we only use what it is known as hole current, or flow from the positive side, to prevent our equations from being littered with negative signs.

I've gone over and over the combination circuit at 1:15:00 and must be missing a big piece of this puzzle. my misunderstanding maybe due to this not being attached to a battery as you stated. I can't see how the values you gave work. The 60v is killing me, why isn't it 42v to start with? If you combine R2 and R3 into one and you have a series circuit with two resistors, the original R1 and R2-3. So R2-3 has a total resistance of 2 ohms and R1 5 ohms giving me a total of 7 ohms. Since I is constant in series, 6 amps x 7 ohms = 42 volts. What am i missing and where can i learn more. Thank you for your time.

Thank you al lot!!! Is it possible to solve 1:18:01 by making it a mathematical statement ? I mean we already know that R2 is R1 times 2 then i1 is going to be i2 times 2 as well we know that i1 + i2 is equal to 6 by putting I1 = 2I2 in the statement it's going to be 2 i2 + i2 is equal to 6 that means 3 * i2 is equal to 6 and you'll get that i2 is equal to 2 and by putting i2 as 2 at any of the statements we have we'll get i1 is equal to 4

Hello Sir I've got to say that your video and your explanations are quite unique! I'm an electrical student just started studying domestic electrical and to be honest it's always the formula that gets me. However, my knowledge to the formula is quite comprehensive, but I'm just a little too apprehensive thinking. If you've got any advice for me I'll gladly accept, as it is vital that I stay focus and acquire all the positivity from this course... Hence. I know you've drafted the formula for series/parallel circuits, but how did you get the answer to the sum? Please help if you can? Thank you Lincoln

You got one thing fundamentally wrong. According to you it should look like this A=V/ohms Formula does not use units for symbols. Current is for I, resistance is for R, tension is for U. I unit is Ampere, R unit is Ohm, U unit is Volts.

Volts = E not "V" (Unless the terminology has changes since the early 80's) Current = I Resistance = R Watts = P @1:50 - Electrons flow from the negative towards the positive, not the other way around. I know it sounds counter intuitive. Just think of the negative terminal as negativing (I know not a word) or shedding electrons.

uh so confusing i tried this with 120v instead of 100v and i got r2= 360ohms that screwd up my r total when finding the current for the entire circuit. 120v divided by 460 ohms gave like .21 amps..... i found another way to do this calc i made up on my own for 2 resistors. say i want 90v output i subtract the 100v from the 90 and multiply r1 by the voltage drop i want to create so 10v. i divide 10v by 100 ohm to find the current i should have. then find r total by dividing 100 by .1 amps my rt is 1000 ohms i subtract 100ohm from 1000 to find the resistance of the other resistor. it all works out

The video is nice and explains stuff right, but what would we have done 50 years ago without RU-vid? We had to learn the same stuff, basic electricity has not changed since, and sure we learned it. Ask me at 3 am after a night in the pub about the voltage on some resistors, might them be serial or parallel. The key to all learning is to understand the basics. If you just learn for the next exam and forget afterwards, there is no use. Try to understand the basics, and your knowledge is for a life time.

If the maximum current of the battery is 500 mA. It would be impossible to produce current up to several Ampere. I think we have to consider other factor first before we calculate using the formula. Otherwise it could create confusing if we correlate it with reality.
