I love Father Rippeger too....despite not being a Catholic myself...I download all his sermons in order to listen to them again and again because they are so rich and sincere....it was his exorcism ministry that initially attracted me and continues to affirm his spiritual integrity to me , but now it is his broader Christian sermons that have introduced me to a voice of such astoundingly educated and well reasoned Christian guidance that I include him in my prayers and acknowledge him as a real force for good, for me personally and for the world.....I'm so grateful to have encountered his influence...with respect and best wishes 🙏

I'm so sensitive to emotional manipulation that I can't watch a lot of movies and tv shows anymore. I just hate being emotionally manipulated through the media.

Not a intellect but I am blessed with the grace of the Holy Spirit to guide me not to follow the narrative of fear thanks to my Bible falling on the ground opening to Psalm 91. I have not watched the news in a year, barely watch T.V and I have given up social media expect you tube 😃 and never been happier. I like to think for myself. I have noticed there's a virtue of fear and if you don't follow it you are labeled as selfish and not caring for other's. These types of people are aggressive and are very ok with a tier two society. I have lost alot of friends but have gained new friends who have real Catholic values and atheist friends on there way to conversion soon...they just don't know it yet.

Why is everyone so afraid of just saying the word, "communism". Communism!

I listen to part one three times I’m kind of slow so the third time I took notes….. crazy as it was I got into a couple of heated conversations regarding behaviors that harm our souls with two of my boys and my husband and I had my notes right by my side they didn’t know because all of the conversations were at a distance in the home and on the phone. your words were godsend much was accomplished so good 😊 god is so good Wow I can’t wait to listen to part two

I think the little bit of music each network plays every night at the beginning of news is like Pavlov ringing the bell and the dogs think they're getting food, as in classical conditioning. You hear it, you stop and watch, then at the end of the fear mongering show they show a cute tiger cub/happy reunion/puppy story to get you to return. Thank you Father.

This makes perfect sense to me. As a rule, I consciously oppose and reject ideas that are illogical. And tell myself why I'm doing it.

I love the images in the video that coincides with the talk, it moves our emotions, and brings up common images known by society to prove the dialog. Its like trying to brainwash the viewer but in a good way. Lol.

I spent Years Learning this in college and I am so amazed and how you got a handle on it. You know one thing you made me realize is they will never stop masks in government buildings! Why? 22:00 I've been free from pornography for over 4 years (after two decades of using it) and I still have this problem. It's certainly gotten better as I've been developing the virtue of chastity but man it's still a constant battle anytime I'm around women it seems and obviously much worse when they aren't dressed modestly.

A teacher I had in elementary Catholic school told us that in the old mass the priest had his back turned towards the people and spoke in a language people didn't understand. As a kid not knowing anything about it other than what this teacher said I thought to myself, "That sounds backwards. Why did it take so long to fix it?".

When I was in college I was lucky to have several professors who taught us about brainwashing and a changing of thought via commercials and tv shows Plus my parents forbade my siblings and I from watching several tv shows and listening to several Rick songs when we were kids.

Trauma: the truth of trauma - It is what it is - no more and no less. If we forget the traumatic event and go into repression then how does one heal from the effects of trauma? One needs to remember it for what it is and was, as it is and was at that moment in time in order to heal. How does the grace of forgetfulness help? If I remember the horrific event then I can judge all future evil trauma in regard to that event: Nothing I suffer is as great as what Jesus Christ suffered and I can heal, besides the fact that He was there with me when others abused me. In that, we don't dwell on that traumatic event and create PTSD, or a Disassociative Disorder: But forgetfulness is used as a defense mechanism when we can't process all the information and pain of that traumatic moment: Getting someone to remember the trauma is a healing in itself, even with all the evil attached to the event.

One thing I would like to add, is the narrative is on both sides and includes alternative media too. I really appreciate Fr.'s talks....may God Bless & protect him!

Let me assist with some psychological terms that explain the science behind your excellent description. The cogitative image/power is referred to as schema - which is constantly being refined throughout our lives as we experience more things. Schema is essentially the totality of all information we have for a specific topic - think of it as a hard drive with every bit of information you ever had in life - within that hard drive is a file for every topic experienced in our life. When we get new information, we compare it against the files in the hard drive. For example, when we see a animal, we compare it to our files to see if its a cat, dog, horse etc. If it fits into one of the files, then it is considered to be (assimilated) into our file (schema) for that topic. If it doesn't fit anywhere, we make a new file (accommodate) our schema with new info. The example of memories changing over time and overwriting the initial memory is referred to as interference; essentially it's just a bunch of new memories being added to our memory; and we have a tendency to be biased to the most recent memories we process. Connecting memories with facts is consolidation - when your memory combines episodic memory (images, smells, emotions etc,.. of a specific memory) with semantic memory (specific data such as the date/time/location/names of people involved etc.). Once that memory is moved from short-term memory to long-term memory (consolidated) any thought that brings it back to your memory essentially recycles it back to short-term memory and makes it subject to new information surrounding the memory. For instance, if you suddenly thought that memory was in the morning and not the evening, your brain will update the memory (re consolidation) - that process happens every time you recall a memory. Your example of Orange Man Bad is an excellent example of current disinformation techniques. As I mentioned earlier, our brains have whats called "Recency Bias" in other words, we place more weight on things we heard more recently than the totality of all data before it. Disinformation (the intentional dissemination of a lie) exploits this tendency and another tendency called "Frequency Bias" - which basically means if we hear something long enough our brains have a hard time distinguishing between fact and frequency. In other words, our brains have become so familiar with the lie, it gives it legitimacy because of the familiarity - not the content. We have all heard the saying "tell a lie long enough, and people start to believe it" - there is actually science behind that expression. The tactic of the media/corporations etc.. lying often, and consistently, alters our schema of the topic and effectually allows them to manipulate our behaviours, thoughts and perceptions. This tactic is so successful, that even when we know the information is wrong, it is extremely hard to update our schema with the correct data, once we have initially accepted the lie and it become part of the schema for that subject - as a result, our brain still relies on the false information when processing data associated with it. This is referred to as the "Continued Information Effect" theory. Ok, I'll stop - wonderful discussion and spot on for the concepts being taught.

I really enjoy these talks and I'm learning a lot from them. However, I sometimes find it frustrating when Fr. R. mumbles and I have to go back and replay it several times. Even so, I often miss what he says. Also, and I do realize this is a "me" problem, but when he speaks too quickly, I cannot grasp the message. Yes, I have a slight auditory processing disfunction but it can usually be overcome if the speaker takes care not to run too many words together and slows down to a deliberate pace when making an important point. I do understand that I and others have many intellectual limitations and it would not be possible to cater to all but just a little consideration to those of us whom I mention would go a long way toward understanding and enjoyment of the subject matter. Please keep in mind that God loves us the way he made us and we are always striving toward perfection in the same way as the less impared. Thank you! 😊
