The pause after "Granddad!" is better than 90% of spoken jokes. There is so much stuff going on. I love all the stuff you have learned about his private life through small hints over the years
So many actors can often resent playing the same character for years and years, but I adore how Coogan just keeps finding stuff for Partridge, and clearly loves doing it 😂😂😂
...and the brief little confused look straight ahead, of Jenny's eyes 😳 just before turning back to continue the chat with Alice... Oohh...those eyes... as funny as they are lovely...
@@desalley hahaha, I'm gutted i missed his live shows. Assuming they where good then? 😂 Kenco coming out of your nose? Hahaha. Love he said the brand of coffee over the word coffee. So Partridge 😂😉 mid morning matters I loved too, the newest BBC (This Time) was hilarious. I've seen it a few times and find new funny bits. Hes such a meticulous perfectionist. Pure art. Hope he has more projects lined up in his "conetract"🎫🎭
"The last of the rebels dispatched, had a bloody defeat, that could have been avoided if the peasants had simply raised their concerns THRU THE CORRECT CHANNELS!" lmao dead🤣
Each time Partridge reinvents himself I think ...this won't be any good,he reaches another new level...it IS genius as well as the actors an production around him😂
That Scottish guy on the mental health bit was simply brilliant. The "Heh" at the end of every sentence throwing them every time. Also dunno about anyone else but Jenny is stunning.
The way he is desperately looking for a way to excuse himself for correcting her and blames "a problem with men" just so he can have his moment of pedantry. Absolutely brilliant, so much more observant than anything else and doesn't shove the message down your throat.
Alan's face superimposed on to the schoolboy is priceless, and his voice too. Alan reminisces about his school days in his audiobook, well worth a listen.
@@thebeatcreeper He reminisces about his school days in 'I Partridge - we need to talk about Alan', I listened to the Audiobook via RU-vid (someone had downloaded the whole thing - still available) and then bought a hardcopy of the book; well worth it too! Cheers
It’s got the most subtext I rewatch it more and more than anything else, mid morning matters 2nd place probably but I love this era of Alan so much, he and Simon and also Lynn’s brilliant, it’s just the best, so funny
Couldn't agree more. Would highly recommend the podcast he does ' From the Oasthouse' which is on audible. Worth every penny. Also the books. I don't know of any other comic creation that has transcended so many mediums so brilliantly.
Alan Partridge is the absolute funniest character ever created by a comedian, imo. Just insanely funny. He cracks me up constantly. The writing and the acting are both leagues beyond any other
I just see a **Richard Madley**impersonation, with the same lack of self awarness-pomposity-self reverence+grey personality..... Chris Evans **is** Alan Partridge...
This is GOLD ! I have rarely physically laughed out loud at TV comedy, but this did it for me. Living abroad, I don't get this on TV. I'd never even heard of it. Thank you YTube for suggesting this. I thought Patridge had been retired years ago. But Coogan is going from strength to strength with this. It is GOLD
While you snivelling Remoaners are complaining about every tiny little hic-up of Brexit that appears in the news, like a few pigs being chucked in the dumpster or a slight shortage of urgent blood tests, sewage flavoured fish or a Welsh port closing down etc. etc. etc., us heroic patriotic Brexit supporting farmers, fishermen and our courageous Brexiteer carworker brothers in Swindon are reaping the magnificent benefits of the fantastic success of our glorious Brexit triumph and we can now drag our perfect English knuckles on our uneven English pavements and mouth breath all over the place, maskless. Why can't you just let us true blue pioneering Brexiteers wallow, knee deep in our delirious happiness that we won our fabulous Brexit and that you lost your freedom of movement, farms, factories, NHS, democracy and the enthusiastic European labour force needed to power our economy. Get over it Remoaners.
0:24 - Introducing Alice. I have stomach cramps from laughing and my eyes are all red and swollen like I've been ugly crying. Holy shit, I needed that :)
I actually imagined Alan standing on the side walk doing an over the top slow clap while a woman parallel parks wrong in front of him. It's a lovely image lol.
The introduction of Alice Clunt, and Alan’s explanation is the greatest moment ever in comedy history!!! Never before have I come so close to dying of laughter! Alice herself also plays the part absolutely perfectly.
My grandad: he made funny noises, he had whiskers and he liked fish!!! How can you top that for a reminiscence! Alan’s performance in the fashion show is Oscar winning stuff!
This is genius. It's just brilliant. And I think it was just too clever for most people to comprehend. You've really got to 'get' Alan to see the sheer brilliance of this show! For those that know 😂😂
Lolly Adefope's, Ruth Duggan character part is just absolutely Perfect - Her character holds SUCH an overwhelming grudge against poor Alan, shes determined to undermine & destroy him (for what we discover is such a small reason!). . . . love that superfluous, extra storyline, to the script Lolly - You are a star !
"Hang on a minute, Jennie's been reading my notes, and I've been accidentally reading the viewers' opinions! That means... You've agreed with me at every point!"
Alan Partridge has been around a long time now - yet the humour gets better, cleverer and funnier. I can't think of any other British comic character that has done that.
I've only just noticed that when Alan asks Ruth about her mum's apple pie, and there is the time delay, she actually agrees with him. A vanishingly rare occurrence!
I’m new to Alan Partridge. Brilliant! I realize why he’s become a legend. 33:09 interview with the swear word lexicographer! 🤣 “From across the whole 🤬ry.” Cheers from Montreal! 🇨🇦
