Serious Sam 2 is a pure brainless shooter that makes this game worth playing. Non-stop action against hilarious enemies and crazy vehicles make this game pure fun! SS2 only has one goal and thats to provide old school arcade style blasting of hundreds of mindless enemies. The game has lots and lots of enemies. Amusing cut scenes interrupt the action to frequently i think, but then, again they are so hilarious you dont even want to skip trough them.

God those Spiders have got to be the toughest common enemy I've ever fought in any of the Serious Sam games; how many enemies other than bosses can stand 3 or 4 cannon shots?. They take a helluva a lot of punishment and are only ever really bested in groups by the Serious Bomb or a Vehicle.

@MTTM360 BFE stands for before first encounter and serious sam 3 bfe is a prequel which means the events in serious sam 3 bfe r b4 serious sam the 1st encounter. B)

@CottonfieldLP Mental DID NOT DIE. at the ending there was a damaged speaker which Mental was speaking from. That was what he actually killed...if u call that kill

People didn't understand the joke behind this game... it was some sort of self parody... many movies did that (gremlins 2 is an example of self parody) And this game even with the bad jokes... made me laugh because of the enemies and weapons. You know, this is not Duke Nukem or Doom... the original game is a parody of them... this game is a parody of a parody. Even if you forget the jokes... It is still ,a great game... It didn't deserve so much bashing.

@yusukeelric when I said serious I meant "serious" - the way it was in the first part - a fine line between comedy and action. It made more sense, and if you know the storyline and what serious sam is all about, you would understand. Also, glad that ss3bfe returned to the roots.

Well they did make a sequel (serious Sam 3 bfe) but it takes place 30000 years before this game.

@@laurentiusmcmxcv maybe. Cause Serious Sam Planet Badass is a prequel to SS3 BFE and SS3 BFE is a prequel to SS First Encounter then Second Encounter. So that means the final fight between Sam and Mental himself is after The Second Encounter. In my opinion the title should be "The Last/Final Encounter".

Like when Sam enter this bigass room which is Mental Chamber and have a epic fight with his army and damn....I cant think anymore. Just writing this while listening to this music is just breathtaking.

@someone2121996 you misunderstand. First part was more "serious", meaning more balanced between action/killing and humor, whereas this game is too much comedy, croteam just overdid it. And every SS player knows what serious stands for in SS context.

@eziux well serious sam was never intended to be serious lol. I think Croteam made a good move not sticking to the original and trying something new... and to be honest... this is still a pretty good and challenging game. The critic was unfair for me. this game didn't deserve so much spite =(.

Yeah if they'd gave this one a more Serious Tone like the others; it could well have been the best of all the Serious Sam games. Combat on different planets was a very cool idea.

I don't even remember this... And I have a copy of this for Xbox....It was a good game, but it just felt "off" like something was missing. I could never put my finger on what it was.

And with this tactics he got the earth and all humen's galactic? Remember the SS SE, biggest fights? And here this is the ending? The ending where u wont think u are good player, u will think that the game is noobish! Where u will think that u were playing this game to find out whose mental! And lazy depelopers...

Enjoyed 1st Sam, Enjoyed more with 2nd Sam, with new physics engine I kept enjoying 2nd one, all because its serious comedy fps, which I miss in SS3 Bfe :(

wtf? in the X-box version, you don't do that thing where you shoot the crystal thing after the spiders and rhinos. that and the scene where it shows the speaker instead of mental is cut out.

When i beat this on normal , i just decided to not look back and just shoot at the final boss. What happened whas that as soon as the bossès health was gone, i died too, than the final ending cutscene came and when the level statistics showed up, everything was 0 and i didnt unlock the cutscene.

The fact that devs made NETRISCA into a talking cyborg program thing annoyed me, and the headless kamikazes in SS2 made me hate Croteam for a long time. Hopefully, BFE will be more like FE and SE.

(muted, by shooting micraphone) Me: EXTRA LIVES BEATCH! so ...BFE means Before First Encounter you know when he was in Egypt,? so he was there but the time traveling makes it all wierd so that he was there about 100 years before first encounter.'Cause he was in 2131 in First encounter then in 2031 in BFE and then he when to 3,000B.C in the next game...(?) :3

I know heh heh...I mean like the monster designs are not that mean looking (e.g - werebull) on part two. Well, that's my opinion. Part two was good, but part one and the second encounter were better. To me. :) But anyway I still enjoyed SS2...
