One of the best build series that I’ve seen from any motovlogger. Jake is no BS, no fluffers, all legit..... even when stuff doesn’t go right..... he shows it to ya. Unlike other vloggers that “build” bikes that end up not running or have major issues..... jakes shit works or he shows you and shows you how he fixed it.
Hi, i have just finishen the series of you rebuilding the xr650r. (Before i start i just whant to apolegize for my bad english)😄 I just need to say. We need more pros like you who everything from just the motor to a brand new bike. 🌟 I just bought a old Yamaha r6 from 2001 for 2 weeks ago and i have checked everything and fixad the things i needed to be done before this years inspektion. And it went trou without any problems last tursday. :D I did just order brand new fairing kit, leavers, breakpads, tires, handlebars exc.. Your videos really inspires people! So happy that i found your account here on youtube! Cant wait until im finished with my new summerbike :D Thanks for all the inspiration 😃🙏🏽
Man I gotta say excellent job on the build I normally don't watch motorcycle builds, but this one had my interests great job Jake. Can't wait to see more SM videos
I've enjoyed the number of videos it's taken to complete this build. I wish I would have had this much information when I made one road worthy a year and a half ago. It's inspired me to tear mine down, WD40 the hell out of it and replace all the wear items that I didn't get to before (especially bearings and shock rebuilds). Thank you!
I love watching you build this bike! Glad you don’t just sit and freaking talk and talk, love the bike and how it’s all presented, gonna watch your channel as long as you run it man! Thank you
Looking forward to the next video, where Jake takes a heap of junk XR into his garage, and with 50x time-lapse speed backed with Yackity Sax soundtrack, out pops a beautiful fully ready Honda SM.
Not first, but an awesome way to wake up on a Sunday from a new build video! Going to grab a quick snack and Arizona tea on the FJ-09 then gonna watch! Edit: I got a long sleeve Big Red Pig shirt earlier in the build, but I just started a pledge on patreon! Great video as always, keep it up Jake!
Man, what an awesome build. I would owning this bike in sm or off road trim or both, I would never sell it! I will add one of these to my collection of motorcycles once I get a bigger garage. Nice Job bro.
Jake, you could also use 3m vhb (gopro adhesive) to mount something temporary and then drill it in once you know its 100% but im pretty sure enough of that stuff would hold permeantly without drilling the fenders.
I love that stuff. I buy rolls of it. Yeah I’m sure you could and it would probably be fine. But unlikely as it is if it did come off it could lock the tire up and cause a crash. I wouldn’t be satisfied unless it had something mechanical holding it on.
Man Im not sure if Im happy I found you or not. I got a bone stock 2007, unobtainium bike. I haven't even got it plated. Its had maybe 5 tanks a fuel through it
This has been a very cool build series. Makes me want to build a bike but I'm still too scared to ride on the street from all close calls I've had in the past.
hello my friend, I've watched this video twice and I am pretty much at awe with the outcome. i was wondering was a battery added, did everything came in the box, if so what is the key word when ordering the Baja light set to get everything that you displayed. finally, did you change the stator, if yes where did you get it and what's the recommended output wattage. I am exited to get mine done as soon as i hear from you. Thanks, Pierre
Awesome Build!! I know I’m a bit late to the party but any chance in finding out the specs on that headlight?? They don’t sell xr650r kits anymore so I have to get the light and A/C-D/C converter seperate, any idea what the specs where on the battery used though?
It took me 18 months to do mine but everything was out of pocket no sponsorship still like to get the electron carburetor but got no answer on discount through your link
Where does that thermometer that you spliced into the hose plug into? My bike has the dual sport kit on it, but they left that off. I’m replacing the radiator tomorrow and figured I’ll splice it in the new hose.
I have ktm 660 whitch is 654cc and what this man said is correct its really easy but if u forget to drop with the decomp lever and it kicks back it will break your leg i did it once and i couldnt walk for 3weeks after it
Hey man just wonderin. Ive read about people Who put lectron carbs in their 4strokes and got a less snappy throttle response than with a flatslide/their oem carb. Is that true?
Oh man I got this kit from them and by the time the video came out they had stopped selling those kits. You can still get all the parts, but it won’t come all prewired up with a regulator and battery. I kinda hated doing a video on it since it’s an obsolete kit. Didn’t know till the video was done they quit them.
Hi I would like to put Motorcycle Squadron Sport (A/C) Headlight Kit w/ Shell - Universal on my 2001 xr 650 r. Do you think it's possible without changing the stator ?
