Thanks a lot Jake. You're making an awesome super moto XR, and now everyone is going to want one. Soon the XR market is going to go sky high. Massive inflation on an otherwise low priced bike. Just like what the hipsters did with all the old CB750's, etc.
i know im randomly asking but does anyone know a method to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
I know you struggled with drawing the line between "actually clean" and "clean enough" but I gotta tell you I think it was worth the extra time you spent going that extra mile and I can't wait to see this beast when she's done!
I've been running this same 3m sealing tape setup for about a year now and on a couple different bikes, never had any issues. Once you go tubeless you never go back.
om*g! So sick! Really interrested in these new Conti's, since i heard the previous ones were sticky but lasted shorter than a 12 y/o's first time... Would love to have a review on them later on when you have ridden them enough! Good episode mate! :D
I got about 2500kms aggressive riding with my contiattack sm on the rear of my 2017 ktm 500. Ended up picking up some steel near the end of the tread life and the shop spoiled the tire changing the tube. 3000kms would have been the max for it I think. It basically lasts a years riding season here in Canada, so Im happy. Ps love your vids! Subscriber for over three years!
Dear Jake. Your videos have been helpful. It is so ironic that I just recently picked up a 2000 XR650r and started doing the same project. I happened across your videos and am using them for great inspiration. Mine is street legal so the transformation of a dirt bike to a steet, track bike really interested me. My carb is pretty messed up. If you have any parts you would like to part with let me know. My build is on a serious budget. Thanks again. Bryan
When you have another crap day take one tea spoon of honey, tea spoon ginger and 4 stinging nettle leafs in warm water, that will sort you out mate, another great vlog thanks.
Excellent series of videos...the BRP is such a great bike. Mine has ridden the trails on its original wheels....been Supermoto'd and ridden for thousands of miles on some great trips and is now 'scrambler ' mode with TKC80'S on my 17inch supermoto rear and 19inch front. And still an awesome bike!. Thanks for all the great info in your films....a big help! Steve
I flinched when you pushed the brake piston out with compressed air. First time I ever did it the piston bounced off my forehead and shot across the garage 😂
Those are the colors I would have picked too. I want to make a bike with the entire frame powder coated gold. This bike is looking awesome so far. Can’t wait until it is done and we can see if running. I need to get myself a bike I can turn into a supermoto.
I just got some Warp 9 wheels. The website says 6-8 week build time and mine were at my door in 11 days. I also ordered just the regular rims and they gave me the elite, so props to warp 9 for the hook up. Definitely would recommend Warp 9 wheels, they came lookin fresh too.
Like the videos bro! I’ve seen some of your older videos of you riding around and thought you were funny as hell, Great looking XR I work at a Honda dealership for the past couple years and the “big red pig” people either love em or hate em ... I love them myself, their a toque monster !! Can’t wait to see finished the bike.... Subscribed and liked video 🤘
For those of you who plan on doing this, I advise going with the 2in tape for both the front and rear wheel. If you go with the 1.5in tape on the front, it leaves a really small margin of error between the spokes and the edge of the sealing tape. If you use the 2in tape for the front, it seals WAY better and doesn't hinder the tire when it's being mounted, even though it slightly rides up into the inner lip of the wheel. The 2in roll gives you PLENTY of tape for both wheels, so you'll only need to order one roll, which will save you some money.
you're a legend for this. I've been trying to guess what size to buy so i can have the tape for when my wheels show up. Nobody states the width they use.
So excited for this, Keep it up Dude. Saw that Mishimoto hose kit box, just a quick heads up - when I replaced the beat-to-hell radiators with the ebay specials, the bottom hose port thingy on the kickstand side radiator was like 1.5 inches shorter than the stock Rad, and the Mishimoto hoses are exactly the same length as stock so I had to get creative for a tight hose connection.
Vindication! Yep I bought my XR 650 a year ago and I love it but I get ZERO waves from anyone:( Can't wait to see the finished bike! Make them all kneel before the BRP!
I'll be honest: I don't even read the Titles of you're vids. I just see the fucking thumbnails and have to click on them haha. Can't wait to see that thing hooning it up!
Hey Jake if you swapping clutch out check that your bike has the updated clutch inner bush which has more oil hole passage ways ...nice wheels!! And build looking good !!! Check out rsw racing supermoto fork brace and their upper triple clamp for the brp :)
this is probably a dumb question, but doesnt the sprocket dampening system effect chain alignment? make fun of me all ya want im new to the mechanic world lol
