I'm from Lebanon myself and I can relate to a lot of the things he said. The civil war in Lebanon was a time of great hardship for everyone that lived there. I lost many family members due to random car bombs exploding randomly at unexpected places. It is an experience i truly wish the world could be free from.

Why can't we have more geniuses like him?? He doesn't curse or yell to get his point across except when he sings and very aware in what's going on in the world.

being raised on soad i knew that they were an armenian band but i never knew that surj had an accent nor did i know how political alot of their stuff was until i got older and figured out how the world really is

Fact :Metal bands are full of members who are smart,feel empathy ,have morals are educated , they sing about lovimg your family and friends and to stay true to yourself ect Or sing about world events or life itself and struggles . 90% of top 40singers No education Act like brats Can't look after them selfs Set a bad image for being a role model . Sing about booze , drugs,sex,violence, And then just straight up gibberish like anaconda . Yet the majority of mainstream peiple think that we are the devil ,that we influence bad shit on the world and the kids ,that we are the cause and that we are uneducated. When in reality it's mainstream music hands down . The way it works out is just so mind boggling . My dad went through 2 civil wars, the Libyan one and the Lebanese one. In the Lebanese Civil War, a bomb passed so close to my grandfather that it nearly killed him. He survived, but his hearing was disabled for life.

If I do anything in my life that I look back on a give two shits about... it will be to personally shake the hand and hold a conversation with Serj Tankian.
