Gear used:
U47 clone via UAD Apollo X8
The Splice is being inserted in the channel in Logic. When the Splice isn't working, the audio is staying ITB. When it's compressing, the audio isn't going out and back in via Apollo X8.
The clicking you hear is when the compressor gets added / removed. It's from Logic adjusting the delay compensation in real time. It's not the compressor.

Love it.i prefer the blueface for this vocal.i like what it does to the high end.

Ultimately, when I mixed this, I added some of the high-end sparkle that this added. (didn't have it when I recorded it.)

Might sound different with a louder vocal track. This one is quite relaxed.

Where is the poor sound quality coming from, sounds like a glitch in the mic or failing AD converters, Or is it from the Serpent?

What are you referring to? The occasional popping/clinking sound? That’s from when I switch from a signal that stays fully in the box, to when I switch to the hardware. The few samples of latency means a pop when I switch over. It’s a Logic issue
